Issac stared at the shimmering veil. It was like a rippling mirror. It stood out against hell's red tones with it's light purple hue. He could hardly believe he'd made it. Shakily he opened the book his mother had given him nearly 1000 years ago. He quickly flipped to the page that detailed how to make a deal with a human. He sat in front of the veil and reread that page over and over for hours.
Eventually he gathered the courage. He pulled the note his mother had wrote him out of his bag, and while holding back tears he scribbled his own note onto the back of it.
"I made it Mommy! -Zohll" It had been centuries since Issac had used that name. It was a demon's name and he felt he would need a human's name to live in the human's world. So he choose Issac, he didn't know where it came from, he just liked how it sounded when he said it out loud, so he choose it.
He set it down on the ground as close to the veil as he could. Then he put all of his meagre possessions back into his bag. He fought the rising anxiety down into the pits of his stomach, and reached out towards the veil.

He was falling. The ground had vanished beneath him and he fell into a darkness the likes of which he had never seen. The eternal fires of hell could not light this place. He flailed madly, searching for something to grab hold of. Then he landed, it didn't hurt which surprised him. He looked around at the black nothingness, wondering if this was the human world.
There was a human in the space. They didn't seem to notice Issac, their eyes didn't seem to be seeing anything at all. "Hello?" Issac said. "Do you know where I am?"
No response.
"Who are you?" Issac prompted again, reaching towards the human. They did not respond, it seemed like the human was not entirely there. Issac put his hands on the humans shoulders and tried to shake them. They snapped to, blinking a few times, then turned their eyes to meet Issac's.
"Oh, hello." They said nonchalantly and with a dazed expression. "Are you dreaming too?" Issac was taken aback, 'Dreaming?!' He thought. 'This can't be a dream! I need this to be real, I've spent my whole life trying to get to this moment!'
"I don't think I'm dreaming." Issac told the human, who smiled. "Then you must just be in my dream," They said. "It's a rather nice dream, a welcome break from the nightmares we've been having." Their eyes seemed to hold a sadness, but Issac didn't notice. He was trying to process the fact that he had not made it to the human world. 'Maybe the human knows how I can go to the human world.' He thought, looking up at the human. "Do you know how I can get to the human world?" He asked.
The human seemed surprised. "You don't know?" They asked. "Uh, no. I don't." Issac said, feeling slightly embarrassed. "So you've never woken up before?" The human seemed very curious. "No," Issac said. "I'm coming from hell. I want to escape and experience life in the human world."
The human stood frozen in shock. "From, from hell?"
