"Mom!Dad" I exclaim in pure glee and excitement as I welcome my precious parents inside showing them the house which had been been decorated with colourful streamers , balloons and confetti which made their eyes light up.
"I hope you like it, I poured all my love into it, you guys deserve it."I grin brightly as I rush them inside and give them a tight hug waiting for their reaction.
"Son I-did you prepare all of this, just for us?"Dad asks while holding his tears in.
"Yep"I say while my eyes light up .
"I -I don't know what to say,"Mom says while covering her mouth
"what? You don't like it? Well, I'm so sorry I shouldn't have made such a mess."I reply woefully while looking down and walking towards the streamers taking them down one by one.
"No!No! Don't take them down please, it's just that, we both are so overwhelmed because of our intense and packed schedules that we never thought that you would do something like this, and we were so ignorant to leave you home alone for so long that we thought you would be devastated..."She blurts out while tightly embracing me from behind.
"What your mother wants to say is that, we love you son , and we are more than thankful for how your so understanding."Dad explains while he joins in on the hug.
"I love you."Words I had never heard from my old parents , words that I thought I would never hear from anyone, left a special mark inside me and made my heart flutter.
"Well, let's eat up then!" I say excitedly while pulling them towards the kitchen.
"eat up?"They ask in confusion.
"yea, I made cookies~" I reply in a sing song voice as I bring out the steaming hot cookies from the oven and feed it to them .
"What did we do to deserve you?"They reply after eating.honey dripping from their gaze as they pat my head.
"Alright, it's pretty late, don't you think we should be going to bed buddy? Dad says as he picks me up and softly tucks me into bed.
"Goodnight."
"Night" I say as I watch dad walk out the door closing the light behind him.
I never thought I would be living a life like this , being cared for, loved and cherished by someone. I was so used to being treated like a worthless piece of trash that I never thought that I would find someone who truly loved me.
