There is the present day, Richard was going to have the greatest deals of his lifetime. He entered the conference room having a broad smile and a Smirk of confidence on his face. As he entered with his assistant in the conference room, they saw a queen size chair placed besides the edge of the table. There was sitting the queen of the firm or we can say in brief the owner. As she stood up to come and shake hands with her new share holders or partners of the firm, Richard had this feeling of discomfort.
"Emma! What are you doing here? " Richard exclaimed in an confused tone.
"Hello, Mr. Richard Williams, it's good to see you again in such short span of time."
"How come you are here, are you assisting someone?" Richard asked in an uncanny way.
"No...No I'm just proving that work and home can be handled together if someone is determined." Emma answered and bit her lips from the corner and smirked at Richard.
"Well you are welcomed at my firm, and I'm sure we will make a really good deal." Emma said with a smile on her face.
Hearing to this Richard felt ashamed of all his words that he had said to Emma two years ago, so her lowered his gaze and nodded his head in a 'yes'.
They moved forward and sat down. Richard started the conversation by "Who come you took over the industry so quick?"
"When I was kicked out by you for being a women and working, I thought about every other working women in the world. So I went to search for different opportunities for a startups then, I came to know about how the government, how they were funding the up comming women who wanted to grow and establish themselves more than a housekeeper." Emma told him.
All these words by Emma struck Richard like thorns in the soul as he still was not ready to accept the fact that women can do anything if they really aim for it, it could be anything from working in industries to working in home. women are capable of doing everything.
Then entered the other members of the board council, it was a five year long deal in which the owner had to work together and if they could make a big profit out of it then the deal could be renewed as per their will. Emma flipped the pages of the contract and read the contract's content each line by line. her long fingers were flipping through the pages of the contract elegantly and her long eyelashes would flicker every time in a couple of few seconds Richard's gaze was focused o her and never left from her till she looked at him and cleared her throat awkwardly trying to bring him back to his senses and break his intense stare.
Emma looked a bit conflicted when she looked t the figures mentioned in the contract. Her perfectly threaded eyebrows furrowed as she lifted her head and looked at Richard with a puzzled look and she said.
"I want the figures to be changed from seventy - thirty to thirty - seventy. " since Emma's company was party B so naturally the figures which were on the latter end belonged to her company. Richard raised his eyebrows and confirmed from her once again.
"You mean seventy your's and thirty mine?"
Emma said in a bold voice " Yes!! do you have a problem with that?"
"Don't you think that would be a bit unfair with our company as according to your's it's a developed one." Richard expressed in a lowered voice.
Emma wasn't ready for any sort of negotiation, so she directly rejected to the figures mentioned. Then after a lot debate and argument Richard finally compromised with the figures offered by Emma, but instead of a dejected look he had a smile on his face. After the signing of the bond everyone in the room left except for Emma and Richard.
"Do you want some coffee or juice?" Emma asked Richard in a delighted voice.
"I'll love to have coffee with cream on it, thank you." Richard said with a beaming smile.
Emma called her assistant for the refreshments and then asked her to complete the rest of the paper work left for the formalities. In the meantime Emma and Richard continued talking about various things and the obstacles Emma was having on running the company. the assistant came in after a while and handed Richard his coffee with cream, and the contract to Emma. the latter flipped through the pages once again before handling it back to Richard. Going through the contract for the last time Richard commented at the end.
"Even your assistant is highly efficient like you."
Emma smirked and commented back .
"Even then she got rejected when she applied in your company and the rejection letter mentioned the reason that she being a woman that's why she has been rejected."
