Chapter 2 - Who is in charge?!

Seething, that's what I was, I threw the paper towel onto the bathroom counter as I looked at the brown stain covering the front of my shirt, I wasn't Clutzy Lutsy anymore.

I was a professor, I have a PhD! I'm a doctor, I'm successful, I'm...well, I stopped and stared at my reflection in the mirror, reading glasses perched low on my nose and my hair hung in crazy curls to frame my face, the blush from earlier still colored my cheeks and the stain on my blouse was glaringly obvious. I'm an idiot. A mess really.

But I'm not going down without a fight. I whipped my glasses off and shut them into their case, putting them in my bag I pulled out a hair tie and bundled my hair into a quick up do, some curls still framing my face, there wasn't anything I could do about my now ruined blouse. I gave my reflection a shaky but confident smile and headed out to the hall for my interview.

As soon as I was seated in the long bench outside the deans office an adorable older lady walked out "Dr. Lutsy?" She questioned with a confident tone. "Yes, that's me" I smiled as I walked forward to shake her hand "you must be the dean" her laugh had years of use behind it "I'm Mrs. Killam, dear." She clarified with a sweet smile "I'm the secretary for Dean Morrison" she stated as she lead me through the big oak doors.

I felt the color drain from my face "Morrison?!" I squeaked, just as the door shut behind me and I was left face to face with Charles Morrison for the second time today. For the second time that day. Leaning over paperwork on his large wooden desk he smiled up at me as I walked closer to the chair Mrs. Killam directed me to.

As I settled in on shaky legs I vaguely heard her ask Charles if we needed any refreshments until he dismissed her. My mind rushing back to reality at the click of the door.

"Seems we both failed with titles earlier" He grinned that charming grin again "Dr. Lutsy it is then, I'm Dean Morrison." He sat down as he unbuttoned his suit jacket, "let's get started, shall we?"
