It's a peaceful night in the town of Arethusa. This port town of the Larcel kingdom is very well protected from external threats. But the internal ones were left unchecked. Crime rates were rather high especially on the smaller streets where there was not even proper lighting. Perfect for criminals to creep up on their victims. This time, the victim was the daughter of a count, Shei Caryion. A thief lunged at the unfortunate noble.
"Life or money!" The thief snarled as Shei screamed. "Shut up!" The thief kicked Shei. She searched for a way out but she found none. Trembling, Shei defended herself from another kick which sent her flying. Unfortunately for the thief, all the noise attracted a rather infamous figure in the criminal circle of Arethusa. "I'd let her go if I were you." A voice could be heard over the kicking. The thief not realizing the danger he was in just told the newcomer to shut up. Then the thief reached for Shei's head when suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder. "It wasn't a suggestion." The thief turned around to yell at the person who so rudely interrupted him only to have his blood run cold.
In front of the thief was the phantom himself. A mass of black with two glowing green eyes. "Y-You!" The thief drew his dagger. Two swords of some green material appeared in the phantom's hands. "Me." The phantom said calmly. "I-I'm not afraid of you!" The thief said shaking in fear. The phantom stayed quiet and readied his sword. The thief charged at him only to get impaled by one of the swords. "And it always ends like this." The phantom said as he turned towards the still shaking Shei.
"Please don't hurt me." Shei whimpered as the phantom turned towards her. "Wasn't planning to." The Phantom said as he offered his hand and pulled Shei up. "What are you even doing here at this hour Caryion?" The phantom asked as he let go of Shei. "I… Went to visit a friend. On the way back I got lost in these little streets." The noble girl answered. The phantom nodded and turned to leave. "Please don't leave me alone. I don't want to get attacked again." Shei grabbed the Phantom's hand. "Very well then. I'll escort you home." The phantom says. Shei nods and the two head towards the Caryion mansion.
"Thank you for saving our daughter." Lord Christian Caryion, the owner of the Caryion mansion and Caryion transport company said to the phantom who nodded. "Just doing the correct thing." He said as he observed the older gentleman's face. "So. You are called Phantom." Christian said as the phantom silently nodded. "Why are you called that?" Christian asked. "I appear from darkness, and I am the criminals' worst nightmare. Before I make myself known I'm near undetectable. Makes me look like a ghost apparently." Christian nodded. "So, can I have your real name?" The lord asked as he looked at the Phantom. "Bali Prime." The phantom said as he finally took off the hood that was hiding his features.
