'Fuck. That hurt my eyes.'
Being suddenly blinded like that was way too much stimulation. Enas squeezed her eyes shut in order to block the light and avoid hurting her brain more than it already was. After she felt like the wave of agony passed, she opened her eyes only to close it a second later.
'What the hell?! All I see is white!'
Her surroundings were unforgiving, shedding a completely white covering her entire view. It was similar to the desert before, yet this time it was white, making it more hurtful to her eyes.
'How am I supposed to see if I can't even open my eyes without feeling like I'm looking directly at the sun?'
Enas waited a few more minutes just closing her eyes. It looked like she had fallen asleep upright but her mind could not have gone faster at this moment.
Slowly squinting her eyes, she was able to use that peep to somewhat navigate this strange place she was sent to. Feeling less strained from the light from all her walking, she still didn't dare open them up fully opting for the more uncomfortable position.
'Will this ever end?'
Enas felt like she has been walking for ages in this white wonderland. A sprout of hopelessness grew inside of her when this walking reminded her of her torturous journey just before. with no clear destination, uncomfortable to the maximum, and the feeling of hunger still gnawing within her stomach, she bit her lips and continued on.
Walking for a few more minutes, she was finally able to spot something. It looked like a black dot in the distance but any change was welcome to her. In any case, the closer she got to the ball, the easier it was for her to see. It was like the darkness was leaking out to the rest of the surroundings which was opposite of what it was supposed to do.
Finally reaching the ball of darkness, Enas didn't hesitate to grab it. In this barren wasteland, it was her only hope for...well anything to happen.
She clenched onto the ball when it was within her grasp, but when she pulled her hand back, she noticed that there was nothing on it. Confused, she looked back to where the ball of darkness was previously.
Before she could think of anything else, a burst of dark energy exploded in that spot pushing her into the air. Feeling like a truck hit her, her entire body was lifted up and slammed back down on the ground disorientating her.
Holding her head where she bumped herself on the floor, She couldn't help but have this feeling of dread making her spine shiver in response. The instant she made contact with that black wave, it was like she was experiencing death itself.
Once that sensation blew over, she opened one eye in a cautious way to see what pushed her down so hard and fast. In front of her was a black spot on the ground, like a hole opened up and one step inside would make you fall forever.
When she saw the strange phenomenon, she quickly pulled away her foot that was dangerously close to the area and frantically scooted herself backward. A bead of sweat formed as she looked at the 'hole' in trepidation.
After calming down for a bit did she realize what she just did.
'Did I nearly wet myself because of a 'hole'?'
Shaking her head, she got up to inspect the black spot. After looking at it from all sides, she could confidently say there was something strange about the circle. After all, it was a perfect circle! Definitely, something to raise suspicion over.
Although she was still a little scared, she tried to dip her foot into the hole but to her surprise, she was able to stand on it. The feeling was a little disorienting, it was like she wasn't standing on anything at all even though she felt the solid ground under her.
'Weird.'
It didn't take long for her to start stomping the ground in a playful manner really testing the weird substance on the ground. Relieving some stress as she watched a darker spot in the 'hole' 'move' with her stomping.
"Ow ow ow! Why would you do that? I'm in this stuff!" A voice radiated to all corners of the endless room. Enas froze when she heard that voice. Creaking like a rusty machine, her neck bent down to look at the floor.
'The floor did not just talk to me. This is it, I'm going crazy.' Just to test her theory, she slowly raised her foot and pressed it down in a slightly scared manner. Hearing nothing, she breathed a sigh of relief that she didn't need to find the nearest mental hospital. That is if she escaped this empty void and back into the desert... on second thought...
That was until she felt a tap on her shoulder.
"Over here."
A noise, male in nature, spoke behind her. She jumped like a raccoon instantly doing a 180 with her arms raised. Her form was poor and she was obviously shaking but she held it nonetheless.
What she saw had her mouth wide open completely forgetting about wanting to fight him. He was wearing nothing underneath his black jacket that seemed to fly around like a robe. Floating in the air, it looked like he was lying down with one knee up to meet with his torso. Examining the strange man before her, he chuckled when she noticed his slim but fit figure.
His face was blurred out from her vision, but she can tell he had a mischievous smile on his face, coupled with his aura made it seem like he was a Devil amused at her antics.
"You are probably wondering who I am."
"..."
"You feel like you've gone crazy once I showed up."
"..."
"And now you are thinking... if I have any food."
"How are you in my head!?"
"Nah you are just easy to read." Flashing another smile, Enas was flushed in embarrassment at being read so easily.
"Don't worry, all will be answered, just be patient. Here, these are my gifts to you. Make sure to remember who gave them to you. You owe me."
As the man said that, 3 dark spheres similar to the ones she saw before floated in front of her. One of them nearly crashed into her before she put her hands up to shield her face. Opening her eyes when she didn't feel an impact, what she got instead was a small potion bottle with deep red contents.
"Think fast."
Before she could even look at what was in her hand, another sphere came at her at full speed. Reaching out with her free hand, she caught a book in mid-air that emerged from the sphere. Feeling a little proud of herself, the voice injected one last bit of information.
"Uh, do you have 3 hands?"
Before she knew it the last ball smacked her face like a basketball. Not only did it impact her like one, the darkness dispersed on her face making her only see black. When she thought it was over, a small object bounced off her head clanking onto the ground.
When she was finally able to see again, the person in front of her along with the black 'hole' disappeared. But listening closely, she was able to make out some words.
"If you want to leave, put energy into the necklace. I can't wait to see you again. Now I'm off like a ghost~ Woooooo..."
Rolling her eyes as his voice faded away. She saw on the ground was a necklace of some sort. Placing the book and bottle down next to each other and sitting on the floor, she brought up the necklace to look at it.
It was a pure gold necklace with nothing special about it. Looking at it all around, she noticed something off about the pendant. The pendant was the exact same object she found in the tower from before!
"How did it get here?"
Looking at the other two items, she needed to know more before doing anything else. Although she was curious, she was cautious by nature. Her need to be safe and know what was in front of her trumped her immediate satisfaction. Especially drinking something like that potion that was lying on the ground. So she went for the safest option.
Putting down the necklace with the potion, she picked up the hefty-looking book and opened it. Although it looked like an ordinary book with the title of 'Rays of Dawn', it was her only source of information. So with the room brightly lit, she delved into the contents of the book completely forgetting about her hunger that mysteriously disappeared.
