"I intend to ensure that you understand it in one hour," he said softly with no particular emotion in his voice as he picked up a long ruler from the table before going ahead to hold it,
"What's the ruler for?" I asked curiously knowing fully well that all that we did had to be practiced, and hoping that he wasn't going to help me by making me cram a bunch of magic symbols,
