Chapter 22 - Reappearance Of The Empyris Kingdom Mortal Enemies

"When you mentioned the three witch sisters...you meant?" Calhoun asked.

It's not like he was puzzled about it or that he didn't understand what Turner was trying to convey; rather, the reason why he had asked was because he was attempting to ensure that he was not overthinking the situation.

"I overheard the three great grandmasters discussing this," He said "Those three sisters have begun invading neighboring kingdoms." Turner provided a response.

"Their appetite for power has become insatiable, and they are eager to extend the boundaries of their dominion." Loiue remarked, earning a nod from Turner.

"If the neighboring kingdoms do not take action quickly, the whole planet will be transformed into a winter wonderland much like what took place in the Empyris Kingdom." Calhoun said this, causing Turner to nod his head again in agreement.

"Perhaps that is the reason the master wants you to go back... you know, like the people would definitely select you to be the king because you are a martial artist.. you know more about battle, and you are able to defend them!" Louie commented.

"As you can see, there is no need for concern on your part. Don't worry yourself unnecessarily about your brother." As Louie turned to face Calhoun, he continued, which prompted the latter to grin firmly at him

If only taking it easy was as easy as saying those words, then I would do it. But none of these people know what it's like to be a heir to the throne. Death is always an unavoidable reality.' Calhoun had a contemplative thought to himself.

'What if my brother is all grown up now, and he doesn't want to see me anymore? It is evident that he will arrange for my death in order to assume full control of the kingdom. I may be the crowned prince now, but who knows what that little boy has been doing all all these years to gain the favor of everyone in the kingdom, including our parents, in order for him to be the crown prince instead of me?' He gave it some more thinking.

He took a long, deep breath in and then exhaled it after a few seconds had passed.

"I would love to accompany you back to your kingdom and keep you company until you assume the throne but I'm not yet through with school and the masters wouldn't let me leave the island even if I asked them to," As Louie sat down next to Calhoun, he said to him while bearing a glum look on his face.

"You are to blame for it. You didn't put much effort into your coursework since all you could think about was where you might get more food to steal." Turner responded while giving him a stern expression.

"At this point, you have no alternative but to put in more effort in your studies in order to advance to the regent level, which, as we all know, will take you a number of years to achieve." Turner added.

"Orrr, make a sincere effort to hope that my brother here would instead return to the island and take over as the great grandmaster." As Loiue put his arm over Calhoun's shoulder, he made the following statement.

"And then there would be no need for me to stress about working hard since we could spend the rest of our lives together." The statement was made by Louie while he was smiling, which caused Calhoun and Turner to scoff out in irritation and disappointment that Louie was not so willing to work hard.

"Look at the winterland you made, sister?" As the lady with the long blue hair and the exquisite silk robe approached the throne where her sister was seated, she questioned.

Even though she had it pulled back into a high ponytail, her hair was still long enough to reach her ankles. The situation was the same for her other two sisters.

They kept extra abilities they had gained over the years in their long hair, which they also employed as a weapon in close combat situations.

Her water skills were denoted by the color of her hair, which was blue. Her sister who was sitting on the throne had white hair since she was an ice queen, and her other sister, who was not there at the time, had red hair to represent her fire abilities.

They were a set of triplets, and the one who was given the privilege of sitting on the throne did so not arbitrarily but rather because she was the most powerful of the three of them.

"Are you satisfied with what you have produced up to this point?" Oceania, the witch whose power sprang from water, inquired of her sister.

When Lumi, the Ice Queen, softly exhaled, she opened her eyes, which had been closed, all at once causing the whole chamber to instantly freeze, and the guards who had been standing watch in the room killed instantly since they were unable to survive the extreme cold.

"What can I say?" Lumi asked. "I got what I want, so there's no need for me to complain."

"We can't go on living like this forever. It's not sustainable. In the kingdom, there are hardly any more people than before. Who will continue to pay taxes and work for us if they are all pass away?" Oceania made the request.

"At what point did you decide to have such a fondness for human beings?" Lumi asked.

"There is no sentimental attachment on my part toward them. I don't want all of our hard work to be in vain." Oceania responded, prompting Lumi's hysterical laughing with her response.

"Oh sister You are the only one among the three of us who seems to get worked up about the most little of issues." Oceania's other sister, Anirab, the one with the red hair, spoke out as she entered the room and took a position next to Ania.

"If there are fewer people and they are unable to pay taxes, we do the simple thing, which is to extend our territories where we can find more people," Anirab stated.

"We have spent a lot of time working on the details of this proposal. In order to maintain the expansion of our empire, we require resources." Lumi said this as she dismounted the throne and began to make her way down the steps that led up to the throne.

"And I believe that after all this time of watching and waiting, it is time for us to stretch our legs a little." She went on to say this when she was standing in front of her sisters.
