Chapter 24 - 24 Happy Little Boozer

Jankiel and Aram agreed to cooperate, although as merchants they wanted something for themselves. It was not a big problem, I leased a piece of land to each of them for life, for a symbolic fee of 1 ducat per year. I also promised to sell them at a preferential price, some of the products I was going to introduce, but on the condition that they would not sell them in Podolia... In the future, I was going to take over the entire province as my private domain ... over 19,000 square kilometers and all mine.

I sat at my desk and wrote the first volume of the Teutonic Knights.

"We, the Teutonic Knights, are not afraid of anyone," replied the commander proudly.

And the old castellan added quietly:

- And especially God."

When there was a knock to the office.

"Who the hell again, no peace for a moment ... eh ... You can come in." (MC)

It was Sveta.

"Lord, I wanted to thank you, my husband told me that he got a job ..." (Sveta)

"I need a table, I ordered it from a carpenter, you have nothing to thank me for." (MC)

"As soon as the Lord was born, I knew ... the Lord is our benefactor." (Sveta)

I looked at her, I remember she said something completely different that, I have strange eyes or something similar.

"I remember you chasing me away a few times when I accidentally walked in while the servants were bathing, you even hit me a couple of times with a wet rag on the head... old times. Do you know anything about this table?" (MC)

At first, Sveta blushed, but hearing that I was asking for a table, her face returned to normal.

"Tomorrow Jerzy goes to the forest by the river to pick and cut a tree." (Sveta)

"Well, I believe the table will be worth these two thalers." (MC)

"Two thalers Lord ?! That's a lot of money, sorry for my husband, please forgive him." (Sveta)

"I paid that much because it's a fair price for what I get ... I have to get back to work, get me some mead and let the stable boy know I'm going hunting tomorrow." (MC)

Sveta left me alone, I sat in the armchair ... I wish I had a white cat, I would look like a Bond villain. After a few minutes of thinking, I went back to writing my book.

The next morning Sveta gave me breakfast, apart from the black eye, now she had a cut lip ... she probably said something to her husband about two thalers and the discussion became more physical... it's a real misfortune. After the meal, I went to the stables, there was a saddled horse waiting for me and two spears, a Tartar bow, a pistol, a food and a wineskin with mead ... moments later I left the castle and Jazłowiec, in the direction opposite to the river.

(Prince Ostrogski / Stanisław Lubomirski POV)

"I don't know if you've heard, but Eleanor's son has recently visited Warsaw." (Lubomirski)

"In Warsaw? My messenger informed me that he was in Livonia." (Ostrogski)

"It's also true, he came back from Livonia and traveled through Warsaw, but never mind his way back. The king speaks warmly about him, he liked his noble fantasy." (Lubomirski)

"He's still a child, a boy. What fantasy can he have?" (Ostrogski)

"A letter from Aleksander Gosiewski reached the royal palace, your grandson fought by his side against the Swede, and he was even wounded ..." (Lubomirski)

"Too young and too stupid for war. He should study, but he has Jazłowiecki's blood in him, a stubborn family that loves war." (Ostrogski)

"Listen and don't interrupt ... Your grandson organized a company and went to Livonia, fought with the Swedes on his own for several months, conquered the city by trick and sank one Swedish ship in the port. Then he joined Gosiewski's army. In battle, the Swedes killed a horse under your grandson, being surrounded by enemies, blew up a cart with gunpowder ... He was wounded, but not seriously." (Lubomirski)

"Ha! My blood! My ..." (Ostrogski)

"You said he had the Jazłowiecki blood." (Lubomirski)

"You talk more than a woman, for once you would be silent." (Ostrogski)

(End POV)

Being two kilometers from Jazłowiec, I turned to a nearby clearing, then to the forest, and turned back towards the river. After an hour I was close to where Jerzy was supposed to be.

I wondered how to do it, it's easy to kill, any fool can do it, but to kill wisely is another matter ... It's best if he had an accident, maybe a tree would crush him or he would drown. Ultimately, I decided to drown. After a short walk by the shore, I saw Jerzy, sitting on a rock and drinking something from a water bag ... but not water. I felt disappointed with his work ethic, paying him two thalers to make a table, not to drink alcohol at work.

"Greetings Jerzy." (MC)

"Lord?" (Jerzy)

"Don't get up, I can see that you are looking for a tree for my table. Can I sit next to you? I went hunting, I have been walking in the woods for an hour and I got a little tired." (MC)

Without waiting for his reply, I sat down and took out a wineskin with mead. I took a sip, looked at my companion and handed him my wineskin. He looked suspiciously, but in the end he grabbed the mead, took a long sip, and wanted to return the wineskin to me.

"If you want, drink it. I'm on the hunt, I can't get drunk." (MC)

We sat there for a dozen or so minutes, we talked on various topics, the alcohol slowly started to do its job ... after another twenty minutes, Jerzy got up, walked towards the river to pee ... I got up.

As he started polluting my river, I pushed him ... he lost his balance and fell into the water. I stood on his back with one foot, the other on his head so that he would not be able to emerge, the water by the shore was not deep.

"I wish you would make this table for me, I would definitely fuck your wife on it ... Sveta has great tits, it's a pity to throw pearls in front of a hog like you ... don't jerk, you think it's so easy to keep my balance while standing on your back?" (MC)

I don't know how long it took, a minute or two, but he stopped moving. To be sure, I held his head under the water for another minute. Then I turned him over, Jerzy was dead anymore. I walked over to the rock, picked up the remnants of the alcohol and poured it on him, then I turned his head towards the water.

"He was a good boy, but he drank too much." (MC)
