Chapter 1 - Chapter One: The Glowing Ball

Okay, I know it isn't right, but it's for money. I know we probably shouldn't be faking people's future/fourtune just for money, but everything at home for us is tight. We live in a little cabin home in the village of Elysian, where there's only a handful of houses and the rest is just trees and mountains past the houses, did you know Elysian means beautiful or creative? Oh, we're off topic, but yeah, I do feel kinda bad, but I don't know about my mom, she puts on her working smile and always talks in her content voice, she rips them off with a smile on her face, a smile, as she takes their money... I hear the bell ring as the last customer leaves the store. I fold my arms as my mom comes over to me with her usual mischievous smile, holding 8 gold coins of Zok. The currency where we live. One gold Zok equals 16 silver coins or 3,200 copper coins. "This is what we earned today!" She shakes the coins in her hands and put it in my face, I smile awkwardly. "This is enough to pay our bills for the next 2 months, we would be able to eat a lot and we get to pick at least one thing we really want from Erin's Vault!" Erin's Vault, In a adventurers ward, surrounded by shadowed alleys and little houses. It stands adjacent to the large home of a female human named Goda. The shop is a two-storey timber and brick building, with carved wooden doors. It appears to be unusually busy, probably because it's the only shop in the Village. The shopkeeper is a practical female human named Erin Bowe. She was once an adventurer, but was maimed in the Dark Gauntlet of Shiva the Destroyer. I nod my head in agreement and put my bag over my head, I had this bag since it was born, my dad told my mom to give this to me once I was old enough to go to the store by myself or fight by myself, and the age was 5 apparently. I never met my Dad, all my Mom said was he abandoned us when I was 3 years old, but she never gave the reason. When I try to find out more she moves a lock of brownish pink hair behind my ear and gives me a kiss on my forehead, rubbing my back while saying, "Ixora dearest, that's not important, all that matters now is that we are with each other." I eventually gave up when I hit the ripe age of 15. Every time she makes a lot of money during the week on day three, she always sends me to the store to get things for the house, her and gives me a little extra for myself. I don't really complain, she feeds me well and lets me train after our shop, "Fantasma, Spheres and Orbs." She she sells Spheres and Orbs, for people who want to see if they have the "magical gift" like me which I don't actually have. I stuff the coins in the back of my pocket, and leave my mom jumping in the background because of another week of success. I shut the door and put the latch over it and then lock it with the key in the basket hanging in front of the door, not very secure I know. But you actually have to be looking for the place. I head deeper into the woods, for the exit out to other little houses, and go forward to Erin's Vault.

As I open the door to go in the store, I am met with darkness. "Huh? She usually doesn't close this late, and plus the door was unlocked." I was about to leave from being creeped out so easily, and prayed Erin was alright. Until I saw a blue light from the corner of my eye. I turned around slowly and see the light coming from the back of the room, and the door is open wide, I grip the knob, really wanting to leave, but I was interested okay? I let go of the knob and slowly walk backwards towards the door and I turn around. I slowly step into the room of darkness, other than the light. There's storage boxes everywhere, and in the middle of it is a fortune teller table, the table is blue, and there's a plum purple cloth draped over it, and in the middle is the the ball, the blue glowing sphere. I walk closer to the ball and touch over it. I didn't know Erin was into stuff like this. I think to myself. As I put my hand in the center I feel some type of pulse, and it feels like it's pulling me in. For some reason I let it, I close my eyes and keep my hand on it. Then I see a weird blurry picture, my eyes still close. I gasp and quickly open my eyes. I try to pull my hand away from the ball but it stuck. I sweat bullets in fear, and pull harder, the ball comes of the table and I feel the weight. It's so heavy. It sticks to my hand even if it's off the table, I try to shake it off, but nothing works. I feel like I'm about to fall down due to the weight of the ball. I end up falling on my butt, and the ball falls with it, I close my eyes and expect to hear glass shattering, when I hear nothing but the sound of my heavy breathing I open one eye. The bal is on its side and there is no cracks, not even a little one. Damn it's strong. I get up almost tripping over my own feet, I hit the wall behind me and I groan in pain. I slide down and feel my heartbeat being fast and sweat dripping down off my forehead like a waterfall. What the hell was that?! I got up and went over to the ball, no source of light was coming from it at all, but at the same time it still kinda lit up the dark room. I picked up ball and looked straight into it, all I can see was my reflection. I hope Erin doesn't mind me taking this. I get the stuff we need and what my mom wants, and I guess this weird ball is what I want, and I put the money on the counter, and get a bag myself. I carry two bags out and look back at the shop, oh, Erin I hope you didn't get yourself into too much trouble. As I head deeper in the woods, to go home, I hear birds chirping and crickets. But then it goes quiet, which is really weird, I hear nothing, not even the cold wind blowing, no matter what time it is, animals and incests are always making some type of noise. I just keep walking stepping on branches and hearing cracks as I continue. Then I hear a crack from behind, I stop quickly, and then continue walking, but more fast pace.

I reach the end of the woods and see my house up ahead and go more slower, then I feel something touch my shoulder, the hair raises on my body and I shiver from fear and coldness. I then run to my house which is just a few blocks away, as I'm near the door I hear a scream, my Mom's scream, I clench my fist and open the latch, then I unlock the door. As I pear inside it's pitch blackness too. "Mom?" My voice comes out in a shaky whisper. Ugh, why is this happening to me? Tears well up in my eyes, and I just sit down on the floor, I hug my self and fold my legs. As I cry for a few minutes, I then look up and see I'm not in my house anymore. I'm in Eternal Falls?!
