"So Ethan, why didn't you show us those books too?" Hermione repeated her question, and it was obvious to anyone that she was upset at being left out of something so interesting and important.

And of course, the subject being about books and studies, something she likes and worships almost like a religion, has no connection with why she was so angry and anxious.

And knowing the personality of the girl in front of me, I knew she would continue to insist with her questions, so I decided to answer her right away.

"Well Hermione, I didn't show you the books or the diaries because, first, the books are in Parseltongue, and since you don't speak that language you wouldn't be able to help me translate them."

"Second, only Harry was with me at the time, and picking you up would have delayed us and also caused suspicion among the others students, who might think we were up to something if they saw the three of you accompanying me so late at night."

"And third and most importantly, I knew Harry would end up showing and talking about the books to you guys, so I just left the job of explaining everything to him. It wasn't like I didn't want you guys to know about the books," I finished my answer, shrugging calmly.

"Oh... That makes sense I guess," Hermione said, nodding in satisfaction after hearing my explanation.

And seeing that she accepted my answer so easily I couldn't help but look at her with an ironic look.

'For someone who seemed so upset and sad at first, it was really easy to calm her down,' I thought, shaking my head slightly.

"But Ethan, I'm curious to know... How did you get those books and diaries?" Hermione asked, looking at me curiously.

And being pulled out of my thoughts I looked at her, and I could tell she was really interested in this question.

And not just her, but Ron and Harry too, with the green-eyed boy having that question in mind since the day I asked for his help.

And looking at the three of them I wondered if I should tell them where and how I found those books and diaries.

'Well, it's not like this is supposed to be a big secret' I thought.

I never told anyone about the Chamber of Secrets because I still intended to use the place as a secret base, and also because I didn't want anyone bothering me with questions about how I found the place and what was there.

However, I didn't see much of a problem if my friends and family found out about the Chamber of Secrets, and I myself intended to tell them about the chamber at some point in the future.

And besides, there were currently only three people who could open the passage to the Chamber of Secrets, and one of them didn't even have a real body currently.

'Meh, I trust them enough to know that they won't spread this information around, and besides sooner or later they would end up finding out about the chamber' I shrugged, deciding to tell the golden trio the truth.

"Well, I will answer your question Hermione, however I expect you three to keep what I am going to say a secret and not tell anyone without my permission, okay?" I looked at them seriously.

"Yeah, I won't tell anyone," Hermione said, with her two friends nodding in agreement.

"Good," I nodded at them.

But before I told them where I found the books and diaries I started looking around, noticing that we were in the middle of a corridor where anyone could see and hear us.

And not wanting this information to leak, I thought about taking the three Gryffindors somewhere more private, but after thinking about it for a while I realized that this wouldn't be necessary.

And then, taking my wand I raised it, before circling it above my head. And a semi-translucent purple dome appeared around us before turning invisible.

"What was that Ethan?" Hermione asked as she looked around, curious about the spell I cast.

"Just a privacy spell," I replied, and seeing that her curious eyes were still on me I decided to explain a little, "This spell creates a dome around the caster and those near him, and anyone outside will not be able to hear those inside it."

"Oh, that sounds like a very useful spell," Harry said, as Hermione looked around again with interest.

"Yes, it is," I nodded, before returning to the main topic, "But well, now that no one can hear us I'll tell you where I found the books that Harry showed you," I said, drawing the three's attention to me again.

"The place where I found all the books and diaries is here inside the castle, and it was built more than 900 years ago by one of the founders, completely in secret from the other three because of a fight they'd had, caused by their different ideals"

"And ironically the existence of that place is known by many people and is even documented in the Hogwarts history books, but even knowing that this place exists the location of its entrance remains a mystery and a secret to everyone" I said, briefly explaining the history of the Chamber of Secrets.

And I confess that I didn't immediately reveal the location because I wanted to create an atmosphere of mystery and suspense, which seemed to be working.

And while Harry and Ron stared at me intently, completely caught up in my words, Hermione looked down with her brow furrowed thoughtfully.

'This place is in the castle, it was built by a founder who fought with the other three, it's documented in the books, and the location is a secret...' Hermione began to reflect, going over all the important points of what I said in her mind.

And you didn't need to be the smartest person to know that the founder I was talking about was Salazar Slytherin, and with this information Hermione little by little began to solve the puzzle.

And then in her mind suddenly came a chapter from her favorite book, Hogwarts: A History, where the author mentioned a chamber built by Slytherin to hide some dangerous and deadly creature.

And with her eyes slightly widened, Hermione quickly raised her head and looked at me with a surprised look.

"The Chamber of Secrets!" she said, not paying attention to the two boys beside her who turned to her in fright at her exclamation.

"Ding! Ding! You got it right," I said, smiling slightly at Hermione, "The place where I found all the books and diaries in Parseltongue was in Salazar Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets."

"Amazing!" and even though Hermione already knew this, my confirmation still left her stunned.

And even Harry was looking at me with wide eyes, "The Chamber of Secrets..." he muttered in shock.

"Huh? What's the Chamber of Secrets?" Ron asked, looking at us in confusion.

And to my surprise, the one who answered him was not Hermione, but Harry, "As Ethan said, the Chamber of Secrets is a secret room that the founder of Slytherin house built hidden in the castle after an argument he had with the other three founders, and according to legend Salazar Slytherin sealed the chamber so that no one other than his own true heir could open it."

"And furthermore, the legend also says that when this heir arrived at Hogwarts he would open the Chamber of Secrets, releasing the monster that lies dormant within it, causing terror and purging the school of all those who, in Slytherin's view, were unworthy of studying magic."

And as soon as he finished his explanation, Harry nodded to himself, satisfied and proud for having remembered this information.

...

...

...

...

However, a few seconds after he finished speaking, Harry realized that no one was saying anything, causing an awkward silence to fall over the group.

And confused, the boy with a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead looked at us, noticing that Hermione, Ron and I were staring at him with our mouths open.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" Harry asked, looking at us with a frown.

And his question snapped us out of our stupor, and Ron was the first to speak.

"Dude, how the hell did you know about all this?!" the red-haired boy asked, looking at his best friend as if he was some abnormal magical creature.

"Oh, well... After I found out that I was a Parselmouth just like Salazar Slytherin I decided to do some research on him, wanting to see if I could find out anything about my ability, and in one of the books I was reading there were quotes about the Chamber of Secrets" Harry replied with a shrug.

"Wait, you did some research on something? On your own?" Hermione asked, positively surprised.

"Yes, I did." Harry frowned, starting to feel offended by our surprise.

But what he didn't notice was that after his explanation Hermione started looking at him differently.

And feeling the feelings of the only girl in the golden trio I glanced at her, seeing the passionate way she was looking at Harry.

And she was looking at him with a glazed look and flushed cheeks, as if she was seeing the most attractive and incredible being in the world.

And seeing her expression and feeling her emotions I started to feel a little uncomfortable.

'Man, it's times like this when I wish I could turn off my empathy,' I thought, looking at her strangely.

End.
