-Medical Tent-
The second task had already ended some time ago, but I was still in the medical tent being inspected by Madam Pomfrey, who was casting spell after spell on me.
Madam Pomfrey had already checked and inspected all the other champions and hostages, and most of them had already left, leaving only me, Luna, and the Delacour sisters.
The two Veelas were still here because Madam Pomfrey was still worried about Fleur, who had been attacked by the Grindylows, and so the matron insisted that she get some rest before returning to the Beauxbatons carriage.
And they also stayed here because I said I wanted to talk to Fleur, and now we were just waiting for Madam Pomfrey to finish inspecting me.
And I have to say, this inspection was much more detailed and time-consuming than I expected.
"Well, from what the spells show you are fine and completely healthy" Madam Pomfrey said after finishing casting the last inspection spell on me.
And looking at the results of her inspection on a parchment the healer pursed her lips, 'In fact, you are much healthier than I would have imagined...'
And looking at the old lady in front of me I got the feeling that she wasn't very satisfied with the result of this medical inspection.
And actually it almost seemed like she wanted me to be sick or injured, and that made me look at her warily.
"It's good to know I'm healthy..." I said slowly, unconsciously moving away from the matron.
And in response to that Madam Pomfrey just snorted, "Yes, yes, now put on a shirt and get out of here" she waved her hand shooing me away.
And seeing this a strange smile appeared on my face as I sweatdropped, "For someone who wanted me to come here so badly aren't you kicking me out too quickly?"
"Oh, so you want me to keep you here for a few more inspections?" she asked me, looking at me with a raised eyebrow as she picked up her wand.
"Nope" I replied, quickly getting up from the bed I was sitting on, "Even though spending time with you is wonderful I still have things to do, so unfortunately I won't be able to stay here"
"What a shame," Madam Pomfrey said, looking at me with predatory eyes.
And when I saw that the Hogwarts healer looked at me as if she were seeing a specimen that needed to be studied, I knew it was time to leave.
I then summoned my clothes and quickly put them on, and meanwhile the three girls who were waiting for me also got up.
"Well my dear Poppy, it was a pleasure serving as a guinea pig for you, but I have to get back to the castle, so bye" I said, waving a smile at the matron.
And she looked at me with narrowed eyes, but then a smile slowly began to appear on her face, which made me alert.
"Bye Mr. Night, until your next visit to the hospital wing" she said, in a tone of anticipation.
And for some reason that sounded ominous to me.
"Yes…" I nodded slowly.
And that was the signal for me to leave, and then together with Luna, Fleur and Gabi we left the medical tent.
And once we were outside I could breathe a sigh of relief, 'That was intense' I thought.
And I was already taking precautions in my mind to not get hurt or sick for the rest of my time at Hogwarts so that I wouldn't have to go to the hospital wing.
But shaking my head I put that matter to the back of my mind, before looking at the three blonde girls accompanying me.
"Luna, can you go to my parents and tell them that I'm coming? I have something to talk about with Fleur" I said to my cheerful friend.
And listening to my request, Luna looked at me with her head tilted, before looking at Fleur.
And she stared at the older Veela in silence for a few seconds, before looking back at me and slowly nodding.
"Okay" she said.
"Thank you" I smiled at her.
And then Luna also smiled at me, but her smile seemed a little tense and forced.
And before I could ask why she was smiling like that, Luna turned and left, heading towards where my family was waiting for me.
But I didn't notice that before leaving, Luna glanced at Fleur, who was also looking at the Ravenclaw girl.
'Hmm, why do I feel a slight discomfort and jealousy coming from Luna?' I asked myself, somewhat confused.
However, I had no answer to my question, and shaking my head I decided to focus on the reason I was here, and looking at Fleur I saw her looking at Luna's back as she walked away.
"Ahem" I cleared my throat to get Fleur's attention, who turned to me with a jump.
"Oh, Huh" Fleur stammered, a little embarrassed for some reason I didn't know what it was.
She then coughed into her hand trying to get rid of the embarrassment, "So what do you want to talk to me about?" she asked me.
But instead of answering her question, I kept looking at her, and my delay in answering made Fleur nervous.
"You know exactly what I want to talk to you about" I replied after a while.
And that answer made Fleur blink, and she was confused initially, but after a few seconds realization hit her and she looked away.
And seeing this I sighed, deciding to get straight to the point.
"Fleur, why did you do that?" I asked, "If you hadn't told the Headmaster that I had done everything myself you would have received a higher score on the task."
And Fleur didn't answer my question right away, looking down with a frown.
She stayed like that for a few seconds before taking a deep breath, lifting her head and looking at me, "Ethan, do you remember why I entered this tournament?" she asked me.
'Why did she enter the tournament?' I blinked in confusion, before remembering one of our conversations on the Wooden Bridge, where she talked about why she decided to become a champion.
But before I could even respond she continued, "I entered the Tri-Wizard tournament to prove to everyone that I am a strong, capable and independent witch, and that I am not just a pretty face, or a spoiled rich girl."
And saying this she looked into my eyes, "And if I want to show everyone this then I can't take credit for something you did"
"I understand what you mean, but you wouldn't be taking credit for something I did, since you actually helped me defeat the Grindylows" I said to her.
"Oh yes, and how did I help you?" She asked with a bit of sarcasm in her tone.
"Fleur, you fought at my side, you also defeated the Grindylows that came after us, and you protected my back. If that isn't helping, then what is?" I asked, looking calmly at my friend from another school.
Fleur then frowned, and I could clearly feel her doubt and uncertainty, as well as her self-deprecation.
"Sigh... Fleur, you want people to recognize you and see how strong you are, but how will that happen if you don't even believe in yourself?" I asked her.
And my question surprised her, perhaps because she never realized that she underestimated herself and her abilities as a witch.
And realizing this I knew I had to open her eyes a little for her to see how incredible she was, and so I approached Fleur and held her hands, making her look at me.
"You have to stop underestimating and despising yourself, Fleur. You are an incredible, powerful and brilliant witch, and I know many wizards and witches would like to have at least one fifth of your abilities" I said softly, but with a tone of seriousness that did not allow her to doubt my words.
"So I want you to stop doubting yourself, and see that this beautiful Veela in front of me is actually someone to be admired and respected."
"And if by any chance you feel like you're not good enough or think about giving up, remember that I believe in you, and I always will, so don't give up, show all the determination that I know you have in you" I continued to say.
"And besides that, continue to be the beautiful, genius, and fierce Fleur Delacour who I started to consider as one of the precious people in my life" I finished my speech and gave Fleur's hands a light squeeze.
And the girl in question was silent from the moment I started talking, but I could feel that she was focused on what I was saying, and with each word I felt her emotions change in a positive way.
Your sadness turned into happiness, your fear turned into hope, your disappointment turned into relief.
All the emotions that were bringing her down were disappearing or being suppressed by the good emotions, and in this moment I knew my work was done.
"Thank you Ethan... Really, thank you so much" she said after a while, looking at me with a tearful, grateful smile.
"No need to thank me, I just said what I think, which also happens to be the truth" I smiled warmly at her.
And that only made her smile widen, and then she looked at me with a happy and affectionate look, which also contained many other emotions that were directed at me.
'You are also a precious person in my life, Ethan Night' she thought, recognizing the feelings she felt at this very moment.
End.
