-Gryffindor Common Room-
"Wow, here it's still as red as ever," I commented, entering the lion common room as the passage behind me closed.
And I may not have spoken very loudly, but my voice was heard by everyone, who turned to see who the intruder was who had invaded their common room.
However, as soon as they saw that the intruder was me, the students from the house of noble and brave lost interest, having already gotten used to my spontaneous visits to their common room.
I then began to walk around the common room as if I were at home, greeting my Gryffindor friends who were waving happily at me.
"Huh? Isn't it against the rules for a student to enter another house's common room?" a first year boy asked an older student next to him.
"Well, I don't know if it's against the rules" the older student began to respond, "But if it were it wouldn't make any difference to him, since he's known for being one of the biggest rule breakers at Hogwarts"
And listening to the older Gryffindor's response, the first year looked at me in surprise, but there was a gleam of admiration in his eyes.
"Incredible!" he muttered, and the older student looked at him with an incredulous expression.
'What's so amazing about being a rule breaker!?' he exclaimed in his mind, starting to wonder if the strange boy next to him was crazy.
And any normal person would think the same as the older Gryffindor, but he forgot that he was in Gryffindor, the house known for its bravery and stupidity.
And that's why in a way the first year that was the normal one in this situation, while he was the strange one.
And without knowing that I had gained yet another admirer I continued walking through the common room, looking around as I looked for a boy with black hair and glasses.
"Who are you looking for?" Seamus asked me.
"I'm looking for Harry" I replied.
"Oh, Harry's in our room upstairs," Neville, who was tending to one of his magical plants, said.
"Thanks" I nodded to Nev.
I then went to the stairs that led to the boys' dormitory and went up, using my senses to find the room Harry was in.
And it was very easy for me to find the fourth year boys' dormitory, and already in front of the dormitory door I could feel that Harry and Ron were inside.
And without further ado I opened the door and walked in, and Harry and Ron who were in bed talking turned to me.
"Hello bitches" I said with a smile.
"Ethan?" Harry looked at me in surprise, "What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you" I replied.
And Harry looked at me curiously, "Why?"
"Because I heard you didn't have a ball date yet, and I came to help you get one."
And upon hearing my answer Harry blinked, "What?"
"Exactly what you heard. I came to help you get a date to the ball" I repeated, and that made Harry and Ron look at each other with strange looks before turning to me.
"Why do you want to help Harry get a date?" Ron asked.
"Because if it just depends on Harry he won't get one" I shrugged.
"Hey!" Harry looked at me offended, "I'm more than capable of getting myself a date!"
"Really?" I looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "So tell me, which girl are you going to ask to ball? Because as far as I know you still don't have a date, and it's just a few days until Christmas."
And my question caught Harry off guard, and he looked away while scratching the back of his neck, "Oh... Well... I-I guess..." he started to stutter.
And seeing this I rolled my eyes, before looking at Ron.
"See?" I said to him, gesturing to the Boy-Who-Lived.
And Ron, who was watching his friend stutter nervously, didn't know whether to feel sorry for him or whether to laugh.
But when he remembered that he was in the same situation as his friend he grimaced.
And Harry continued trying to think of an answer for a few seconds, before sighing in defeat.
"Okay, you're right" he said unwillingly.
And hearing this I nodded satisfied, "Yes, and that's why you need my help" I said.
"But how are you going to help me?" he asked, "Are you going to go around asking every girl at school if they want to go to ball with me?"
"Well, actually I intend to help you by making you have more confidence to ask someone, the rest will depend on you" I replied, and Harry made a face.
"Wow, that's a big help" he said sarcastically, but I just shrugged.
"Were you expecting me to pull out of my pocket a girl willing to go to ball with you?"
"No, but I thought your help would be more... complete," Harry said.
"Well, I'm sorry, but there are certain things you should do yourself, especially when there are women involved" I said, "And in these situations the most I can do is give you some tips and some moral support"
And my sentence made Harry sigh, because he knew I was right, "Okay, I got it. I have to ask a girl to the ball myself" he said, and I nodded.
"Yes, and you must do it quickly, since Christmas is just a few days away."
And hearing this, the boy with a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead sighed again.
"I know, but the problem is that I don't know which girl to ask to the ball" he said, looking down.
"Oh, actually you already know which girl you want to ask" I said, with a knowing smile.
And that earned me a confused look from Harry, "I know?" he asked.
"Uhm" I nodded, "And I'm sure that ever since the ball was announced you've been thinking about asking her, but you've always been afraid of her response."
And Harry frowned, because he knew which girl I was talking about.
And even if he wanted to deny it he couldn't, because as soon as I finished speaking the image of his intelligent, proud and beautiful friend with thick hair appeared in his mind, revealing his true feelings.
"Looks like you finally realized who the girl I'm talking about is," I said, and Ron, who was still sitting, looked between the two of us in confusion.
"What girl?" he asked.
And instead of saying something I looked at Harry, as this was something he should answer as it was his secret.
"He's talking about Hermione" Harry replied, looking at Ron waiting to see what his reaction would be.
"Hermione? Is she the girl you want to ask to ball?" Ron asked, a little surprised. But then he stopped, a thoughtful expression appearing on his face, "Hmm, actually that makes sense."
"That makes?" Harry asked in surprise.
"Yes" Ron nodded, "It's normal for you to want to go to ball with the girl you like."
And even I at this moment was looking at Ron in surprise, as I didn't expect that he, who was known for being one of the densest and most tactless boys in the school, would notice Harry's crush on Hermione.
"How do you know I like Hermione?" Harry asked, and Ron looked at him strangely.
"Man, I think everyone in Gryffindor and even at school knows you like her... You're not very good at hiding your feelings" he replied, which made Harry blush.
"Oh," he said, looking away.
And Ron and I exchanged amused glances.
'Did he really think he was being discreet with the looks he was giving Hermione?' I asked myself, before shaking my head, deciding to refocus on the main topic.
"Well," I started to say, catching the black-haired boy's attention, "Now that you realize you want to go to the ball with Hermione, you just need to think about how you're going to ask her."
And Harry hesitated a little before saying, "I don't think I can ask her today, I need some time to prepare."
And looking at him I could see that he was restless, and the slightest movements of his body showed me that he was nervous.
"Okay, but you better not take too long, or someone else might end up asking Hermione first," I said, not wanting to mention the fact that the Durmstrang champion already had his eye on the book girl.
Harry then looked at me when I said that, and seeing my serious look he realized I wasn't joking.
And after thinking a little he realized that it was quite possible that Hermione would be asked to the ball by another boy, and that's why he started to get worried.
But besides being worried, I could also feel determination starting to emerge in Harry, and it made me smile.
'Well, I helped them both take the first step, now it all depends on themselves' I thought, having already done more than enough in making them both accept that they had feelings for each other, and also putting in their heads the idea of going to the ball together.
'Now let's see which of the two will make the first move by asking the other to the ball'
End.
