-November 24th – First Task Day-

The day everyone had been waiting for has finally arrived.

I could feel the emotions of everyone on the Hogwarts grounds, completely flooding the castle with feelings of anticipation, nervousness, anticipation, excitement and fear.

And these emotions didn't just come from the students at Hogwarts and the other two schools. They were also coming from the guests who came here to watch the tournament live.

Most of the guests were influential and important people in the magical world, mainly from Great Britain, France and Norway.

This was an important event, and it became even better known to people all over the world thanks to the fact that Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived, was participating in the tournament as a champion, and in addition there was also the presence of the Flamels, which increased the fame of the competition to very high levels.

But I didn't care much about the presence of all these influential people. The only people I wanted to see in the stands cheering for me and watching me were my friends and family.

I didn't know if Sirius had succeeded in bringing my family to Hogwarts, but as the ministry was doing everything he asked in fear of Lord Black, then it was very likely that he had succeeded.

'Hmm, now that I think about it, why have I never tried to bring my family to the castle using the Vanishing Cabinet?' I questioned myself.

I've used the Vanishing Cabinet many times to travel between school and my house, but it never crossed my mind to use it to bring other people to the castle.

'Well, I don't know if my parents would want to enter the school like that, as it could be considered a crime... Actually, my mom would probably gladly accept it' I thought, sweating as I imagined the excited reaction from my mom.

For someone who worked as a lawyer and knew all the laws, she, like me, had a tendency to break laws, whether by accident or on purpose.

'At least it's obvious who I inherited this trait from.' I snorted.

-Later-

I was in the Ravenclaw common room, sitting in my favorite armchair as I rested and mentally prepared myself for the challenge I would have to face in a few minutes.

My friends had already gone to where the students were meeting, and my other housemates were also leaving the common room.

Everyone who was leaving said me some words of support and encouragement, and I really appreciated their gesture, and I could tell thanks to my skills that most of them were sincere.

Contrary to what they imagined, I wasn't scared or nervous, in fact what I was feeling was the complete opposite of that.

I still maintained a calm expression, but inside I was truly excited and expectant, euphoric at the mere thought of fighting one of the most dangerous and savage creatures in the world.

I would never have imagined that I would face a dragon, which for many was just a fantasy creature.

But in this new life I will have this opportunity, and it made my heart beat faster and my blood boil.

My entire body, my senses, my entire being was prepared, feeling an anticipation that only arises in me when I'm about to do something crazy and probably dangerous.

In my first life I was never someone who liked to get into dangerous and extreme situations, preferring to relax in my corner like any normal person.

But things are different this time. I've already experienced death, and after it I gained a new opportunity in such an incredible and magical world, and I wasn't going to waste my time simply relaxing.

And having these incredible skills with me only increased my desire for adventure even more.

A new life, magic, my Beast Power... There were so many things involved in my personality change that if someone from my first life saw me now they would probably take a while to recognize me.

And I didn't see a problem with that, since I was completely enjoying this new life.

'I think the phrase 'Death changes everything' is perfect to describe me' I thought, leaning back in my armchair as I looked up, lost in thought.

However, my moment of relaxation and reflection was interrupted by the entrance of the little Head of Ravenclaw into the common room, with him coming directly towards me.

"It's time to get ready Ethan" Professor Flitwick said, breaking me out of my thoughts.

"You and the other champions will have 40 minutes to get ready and prepare. After that you must go down to the gardens, where I will then take you to the place where the champions will stay before the task begins"

And listening to Professor Flitwick I nodded, "Okay professor"

He then turned to leave, but not before saying a few last words.

""I know that you will show us something spectacular and wonderful, and will also make everyone realize that you are an incredible wizard, but remember that the most important thing is your safety" he said, smiling softly at me, not hiding his concern.

"Don't worry professor, trust me when I say that this tournament will be like a walk in the park for me" I said with a confident smile, "And besides, I always care about my safety"

"Hah, of course I do," Professor Flitwick laughed, shaking his head in amusement.

I then saw him leaving, probably to join the other teachers, who were gathering all the students in the gardens to take them to the improvised stadium where the first task will take place.

Now I was the only student in the Ravenclaw common room, and getting up from my seat I went to one of the tower's windows.

And looking through it I could see many students from the three schools following Hagrid and Professor Sprout into the Forbidden Forest.

I could see the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students, my fellow Ravenclaws, Malfoy's group who were talking and laughing, Ron and Hermione who looked tense, and my friends, who every now and then turned to look at the castle, or more specifically, to Ravenclaw Tower.

And realizing that they were worried about me I smiled, before moving away from the window.

"Well, I can't keep them waiting," I said, feeling my excitement rise.

I then went up to my room in the dorms, and getting there I looked at my bed, seeing that on top of it was the clothes that I had prepared specifically for this event.

A simple dark blue long-sleeved shirt, black pants, dragonhide fingerless gloves, and dragonhide boots.

It was a simple outfit, but it was completely enchanted by me to provide me with the greatest possible protection, especially against fire.

And already dressed in this outfit, I looked at myself in the mirror, passing my hand over my wrists where my dagger was in its sheath and my wand was in its holster.

And now feeling fully prepared I nodded to myself, confident and excited.

And with that I left the Common Room, heading down to the gardens where I found Professor Flitwick waiting for me.

-Champions Tent-

"Excellent! All the champions are here!" Bagman said as soon as Harry, late as always, entered the tent prepared for us.

Nodding slightly to Harry who was tense but trying to maintain a confident expression, I looked back at Bagman, who was happily explaining what the challenge of the first task would be like.

I had no problem with happy people, but seeing Bagman smiling while ignoring the tension in the tent and the nervousness coming from the other champions made me frown.

'Man, I really want to jinx him' I thought, and it seemed like I wasn't the only one who wanted that, from Fleur's irritated expression and Krum's frown.

After Bagman finished explaining the task he picked up a small purple silk sack from a table, opening its neck and gesturing to us.

"Ladies first" he looked at Fleur, who was looking at the sack as if it was going to come to life and kill her.

"Try not to get the one with the thorns" I whispered to her, and she looked at me for a few seconds before nodding her head.

She then took a step forward and put her hand inside the sack, and after a few seconds she took out a miniature of Saphira with a number "2" hanging around it neck.

She grimaced slightly as she looked at the dragon, but with a sigh of resignation she turned away.

And before Bagman could call another name I took a step forward, and without waiting for him to say anything I put my hand inside the sack.

"Wait…" Bagman started to say, but I ignored him.

I could feel the other 3 dragons inside the silk sack, and I started to run my hand over them, feeling their scales, wings and claws, but I was specifically looking for a dragon with certain characteristics.

And as soon as my hand touched some sharp thorns I smiled, and taking the dragon that these thorns belonged to I removed my hand from the sack.

And looking at the Hungarian Horntail in my hands with the number "4" on it I nodded in satisfaction.

'Just as I planned' I thought, 'Now I just need to teach an arrogant and angry dragon a lesson'

End.
