-Platform 9¾ - Coming home for Christmas break-
Finally Christmas break had arrived, and at this moment I was getting off the Hogwarts Express to meet my parents, who I saw waiting for me next to one of the platform's apparition points.
"Hmm, is that your little sister Ethan?" Stephen asked me looking at my family.
"Huh? Oh, you've never seen my family before, right?" I asked, "Those are my parents, and yes, that's my little sister Celestia" I said.
"Well, she looks a little like you, only a younger female version... And less dangerous" Stephen said rubbing his chin in thought.
"Don't worry, she still has time to learn a few things from me about how to appear more threatening," I said, waving my hand dismissively.
"That's what worries me" Stephen said.
Shrugging him off, I walked over to my parents, who had smiles on their faces as soon as they saw me.
"Hi mom, hey dad" I said, hugging them.
"Hi dear" my mom said hugging me.
"How was the school big boy?" my dad asked me messing up my hair.
"Well...let's just say I've had some interesting days," I said with an enigmatic smile.
"Does he act mysteriously even with his parents?" Michael asked in a whisper to Terry, who shrugged.
"At least now we know he's not just an idiot to us" Terry whispered back, but I heard them and my right eye started twitching.
My mom, who also heard the whispering of the boys, let out an amused little snort.
"Hi" she said to Terry and Anthony, who she already knew.
"Hey boys" my dad greeted them too.
"Hi Aunt Sarah, Uncle Joshua" Anthony greeted my parents with a smile.
"Hi Mrs. Sarah and Mr. Joshua" Terry greeted respectfully.
"What did we already tell you Terry? You don't have to call us Mr. and Mrs., you can call us Joshua and Sarah, or Uncle and Aunt like Anthony" my dad said smiling wryly at him.
"Err...Sorry, I forgot" Terry said scratching the back of his head awkwardly, and then he saw my mom looking at him with a raised eyebrow, "Err...Auntie and Uncle" he added.
My mom then nodded in satisfaction, before turning to Stephen and Michael with a slight smile, "Well, you must be Michael and Stephen, right?" she asked.
"Yes" Stephen nodded, "I'm Stephen and this is Michael, but I suggest you don't talk to him too much... He doesn't usually get along with other humans in general"
"Hey!" Michael exclaimed indignantly looking at Stephen with a frown. He then took a deep breath and turned to my mom.
Looking at my mom, Michael bowed slightly, "Don't listen to him Mrs. Night, my name is Michael Corner, and it's a pleasure to meet you and Mr. Night" he said respectfully.
And the boys and I who saw this could only stare at Michael with our mouths open, as seeing him act like this went against all of our expectations.
""""Impressive"""" we muttered in awe, causing Michael to look at us with a frown.
"Ignore them" my mom said with an amused smile, "And thank you for being a friend of my son, I know that sometimes he can be a little... too wild" and listening to my mom the boys and my dad snorted.
"Well... Friend is too strong a word..." Michael said slowly, looking away embarrassed "But you're welcome, I guess"
Seeing Michael act like this I prepared to make a snarky comment mocking him, but then I felt someone tugging on my shirt sleeve, and looking down I saw that it was Cele, who was trying to get my attention.
"What's up Cele?" I asked, and her only response was to lift his arms up as her looked at me with puppy dog
eyes, and with a slight smile I took her in my arms.
In my arms Cele laughed lightly, hugging me, and I hugged her back.
"I missed you," she said, and I pinched her nose affectionately, making her giggle cutely.
"And me too" I said smiling.
"Hmm, hi Celestia" we heard someone call, and turning around we saw Stephen smiling at Cele, "I'm Stephen, one of your brother's friends"
"Err... Hi?" Cele greeted him, tilting her head in confusion.
"Get away from her Stephen, you'll scare her with your ugly face" Anthony said jokingly. He then came to Stephen's side and looked at Cele, "Hi Cele, do you remember me?" he asked smiling.
"Hmm…" Cele then placed a finger to her cheek thoughtfully. She then widened her eyes in realization, "Oh, you're the badger boy!" she said.
And after that line from Cele, the smile that was on Anthony's face froze, and an awkward silence ensued among our group.
...
...
...
...
The silence was then broken by Terry huffing over his hand, which soon turned into a fit of laughter.
Stephen, Michael and I soon followed, not being able to hold back our laughter either.
And meanwhile, Anthony was looking at Cele with his hand on his chest painfully.
Cele and my parents looked at us confused, not understanding what was funny about the situation or Cele's sentence.
"Phew... That was amazing" Stephen said, catching his breath.
"Yes…" Terry wiped a tear from the corner of her eye. He then turned to Cele, "And now I officially declare Cele my favorite member of the Night family" he said smiling.
He then turned to my parents.
"No offense, you are amazing too" he told them.
"No offense taken" my mom said smiling slightly amused.
"I felt a bit offended actually," my dad said with a frown, but we promptly ignored him.
We then continued talking for a while longer, until Stephen looked around and saw his parents.
"Oh, look Michael, our parents are over there," he said, pointing to a corner of the platform where their parents were standing together talking.
"I'm seeing" Michael said. He then turned to my parents and Cele, "Well it was nice meeting you but our parents are expecting us so we'll be on our way" he said with a slight bow.
"Yes" Stephen said, "It was nice meeting you Mr. and Mrs...." he started to say, but my mom's raised eyebrow made him rethink his words, "Err... I mean, Joshua and Sarah "
"It was nice meeting you too" my mom said smiling.
"Yeah, you guys aren't as bad as Ethan described it," my dad said jokingly.
"It's because you only talked to them for a few minutes, I have to live with them for months" I shrugged with a playful smile on my face.
Stephen rolled his eyes good-naturedly as Michael scoffed.
After that Michael and Stephen said goodbye to me and the boys, before leaving, heading towards their parents.
"Well, I guess we're on our way too" Terry said, and Anthony nodded.
"Yes, bye uncle and aunt, I hope you have a good Christmas" he said, and then turned to Cele "And bye Cele, have fun this holiday, okay" he said smiling.
"Bye badger boy, and Merry Christmas" Cele said, and Anthony gave her a strained smile, ignoring Terry's snort.
"Bye to you all, and see you in January Ethan" Terry said, and I nodded at him.
And then they too left to find their parents too, leaving just my family and I, who looked at each other for a few seconds.
"Some weird friends you have son" my dad said with an amused smile.
"Sigh, unfortunately not everyone can be as awesome as I am," I said, looking off into space with a dignified gaze.
"Prat" my dad said rolling his eyes.
"Jokes aside, I think it's about time we went home" my mother said, and looking at the station clock I saw that it really was late.
"Yes…" my dad said. He then shook his head, "Well, let's get going then, we still have to hear what urgent matter Ethan said he wanted to talk to us about" he said looking at me curiously.
"Oh, I almost forgot about that," my mom said.
"Well, I didn't forget because I'm very curious to know what this matter is about" my dad said, and then he turned to me, "You know, you could have at least put some hint on what this matter was or some information additional in your letters... They were very vague" he said dryly.
"Oh, you know what they say, right? A little mystery is always good for holding someone's attention," I said with a mischievous smile.
"Hmph" and hearing this my dad snorted, "I just hope all my waiting and curiosity wasn't in vain" he said.
"Hehe... Well... I'm sure what I have to say will surprise you," I said with a nervous laugh, looking away.
And my mom who heard this looked at me with narrowed eyes, as if she was seeing right through me.
"Well, since you're so sure of that I think we'd better get going," my dad said, walking over to the platform barrier, and my mom and I followed him, with Cele still in my arms.
We then went through the barrier, returning to the muggle side, and after that we went to my dad's car that was parked in front of the station, and getting into it my dad started driving, taking us to our house.

-Nights' House-
Arriving home, my mom took Cele who had fallen asleep on the trip to her room. After putting Cele on her bed, my mom went downstairs to the living room, where my dad and I were sitting on the sofas in the living room waiting for her.
And in this time that us waited for her I kept thinking, because I knew that I would have to handle the situation delicately, because it would be a difficult conversation.
I had already thought of many ways to explain the Sirius situation to my parents, as I knew they would probably freak out if I simply told them I'd been talking to an escaped murderous criminal since Halloween.
I knew there was no way I could lie to my parents, not that I wanted to, so I decided I would tell them the "truth".
"So dear, what is the important matter you would like to talk to us about?" my mom asked me, with a bit of curiosity and concern in her tone.
"Hmm... Do you remember the mad assassin who escaped from Azkaban in the middle of the year?" I asked looking away, but I could see my parents tensing out of the corner of my eye.
"Ethan... What did you do?" my dad asked with a serious look.
"Well, what if I told you that he's not actually a murderer, and that he's innocent of all the crimes he's been accused of?" I said, and my parents were silent for a few seconds staring at me.
They then looked at each other before turning to me with serious looks.
"Explain" they said.
And without them needing to speak twice I started to tell them the same story I'd told Sirius about how I found out he was innocent, obviously omitting some parts of the story that could be considered dangerous.
And as I told my parents the story I wondered if it wouldn't have been easier to just send Sirius to the Flamels.
End.

(End AN: Well, I didn't know how boring and difficult it is to renovate a room until I started renovating mine.
Having to renovate my room makes me realize that when we were cavemen and lived in caves life was easier and simpler.
Why did we humans have to evolve?)
