Hey ya fellas! Here's the new chapter!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

October 31st arrived, which meant Halloween too.

As everyone knows, at Hogwarts, a big banquet is always prepared to celebrate Halloween, and today would be no different.

Compared to last school year, this year's Halloween banquet was much more ornate and extravagant, but I think that's because of Hagrid's giant pumpkins, which made the Great Hall more magical.

And I knew this was going to be a smooth and fun Halloween, as there weren't any Trolls or Basilisks to ruin it.

"Hey Ethan, pass me that pitcher of pumpkin juice please" Anthony asked me, and I passed the pitcher to him looking at the creamy liquid with extreme disgust.

"Ahh~ I still don't know how you can find pumpkin juice bad" Anthony said.

"And I don't know how you can drink such a thing every day. Don't you get sick of pumpkin juice?" I asked.

"Nope" Anthony said, popping the P.

"If you like pumpkin juice, then I'm sure you'll love Butterbeer, which is just as good," Emily, who was now in her sixth year, said.

"I've had butterbeer before, and I can confirm that it's very good," Terry said.

"Did your parents let you have butterbeer?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Who said my parents know I've had a drink?" Terry asked me back with a raised eyebrow.

"You have a point"

As this would be one of the few quiet Halloweens that Hogwarts would have, I decided to enjoy eating a lot and having fun with the dancing skeleton show.

As desserts began to be served, I saw the golden trio enter the Great Hall, which finally eased my thoughts that the basilisk might somehow still have been released.

I saw them looking around the Great Hall in surprise, and when their eyes passed the Ravenclaw table I waved at them, but they just gave me strange looks.

'Huh?' I wondered, but then shrugged it off and went back to sampling the desserts at the banquet.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Following day-

The basilisk might not have been released, but that still didn't solve my problem, and because of that I spent a good deal of my free time training and memorizing spells from the books I read.

I had already finished reading all the books from the first to the seventh year of Hogwarts, and I also memorized a good part of their contents, but remembering and understanding are two different things, and even though I remember many spells, I still haven't tried to cast a good number of them

That's why on my training days I decided to take the focus off my physical training and go to magic training.

I wanted to increase the power of my spells, whether they were non-verbal or wandless, and also their casting speed.

Amazingly, many of the spells were easier when I did them wandless, but that was just for the basic spells.

I also realized that I neglected my spell creation project, just as I didn't bother to improve the ones I had already created.

Most of the spells I created were inspired by spells, powers, and abilities from other fictional storys from my old life.

And as I've said before, spells that use elements are easier to create, as they don't change reality much, unlike others.

"My ultimate defensive and offensive spell will take a long time to complete," I muttered, looking at my journal with my notes.

"An aging spell... Creating such a spell requires a lot of biology knowledge, and even then that wouldn't help me create a spell that would destroy something like the Killing Curse"

The hard part of creating this spell from scratch is that it has to destroy the magic, and the method I found was aging the magic, however I didn't find any way to do that.

I only know that magic ages thanks to my Magic Vision, and because of that I'm pretty sure there aren't many books that talk about the magic of aging, that is, if there are any such books.

"I could research it myself, but that would take too long... Sigh" I reflected to myself.

While the spell is a by-product of magic, the magic itself is something completely different and special.

When I said I wanted a spell to destroy magic, what I meant was that I wanted a spell that would clear the magic from said spell, which in turn would destroy the spell.

It's like an air balloon. If you remove the balloon that is containing the air, only the air is left.

"Wait...Clear the magic..." I muttered to myself, tapping the pen against my chin and thinking.

"Clean the magic... Leave it clean and pure and... neutral... I've seen it before!" I exclaimed excitedly.

"Damn, how could I forget" I said, palming my forehead, but with an excited look on my face, "That was one of the first mysteries I discovered when I came to Hogwarts"

Apparently I had focused so much on the problems I knew were going to occur in the wizarding world, that I forgot about the things I discovered on my own.

"Thestrals..." I muttered, "Thestrals can clean the magic. They can make it pure and neutral, and I'm sure it can affect spells in general as well."

"It's amazing to think that the answer was right in front of me all this time" I muttered, "Now I just need to figure out a way to replicate this weird Thestrals ability, but now that I have the equation, I don't need to rush or worry about finding the answer so fast, I can do it calmly in my own time"

*Ring!*

"Huh? Is it already lunch time?" I asked myself, casting a {Tempus} and seeing that it really was lunchtime, "Well, I'd better go to lunch then, since after lunch I'm going to have some quidditch training"

"Hopefully this time Hillton doesn't make us train until dinnertime," I said stretching, already planning what prank to play on Hillton in case he overdoes it.

-Ravenclaw Common Room - After Dinner-

After a hearty dinner in the kitchens, I went to the common room, and when I got there I saw something that made me very sad and a little angry.

Luna was sitting at a table with other colleagues from her year, and as she tried to talk to them with a happy smile on her face, some of the other first years looked at her strangely or whispered to each other.

What's worse is that those who were whispering didn't even try to keep their tone down, as even without my senses I could hear them badmouthing Luna, and obviously Luna was listening to them too.

Of course, it wasn't all the first years that were badmouthing Luna, as the rest were either ignoring her or were looking at her with pity and a little forced smiles.

And from Luna's emotions, I could feel that she was sad, but her face didn't show it, as she was smiling calmly as usual, but I could see that her smile wasn't as happy as it used to be.

Tired of seeing this, I grabbed a chair from one of the tables and carried it over to Luna's side.

*Bam!*

"Hi Luna Lovegood," I said to her, smiling.

"Hello Ethan Night" she replied with her smile, which got a little bigger when she saw me, "You need to eat some peaches and coffee to get rid of the Toothless Cobs" she said, and the first years looked at her more strangely.

"Hmm, I don't really like coffee, but I think I can make that sacrifice to get rid of those Toothless Cobs" I said, ignoring the first years who started looking at me strangely, "What are you doing?" I asked.

"Oh, I'm doing my Transfiguration homework. I'm almost done, I just need to answer those last two questions" she then showed me her parchment.

"Hmm, the answers are in that book you're reading, but if you want the answers to be more complete I suggest you read the third book of Abnormal Laws in the Transfiguration by Christi Berry," I told her.

"Hm, is there this book in the library?" she asked.

"It's in the Hogwarts library and there's a copy in the Ravenclaw library too," I said, "I've never found another copy in our library, so if you want to do your homework quickly, you'd better get the only one that's here in the Ravenclaw library before someone else takes it first"

As soon as I finished speaking, the other first years at the table looked at me before looking at each other, and like housewives in a supermarket on sale day, they got up quickly and hurried to the Ravenclaw library.

Ignoring the mess they were making trying to find the book, I turned to Luna.

"Oops, I guess I forgot to say that I was the one who took the book last time and that it's still with me" I said scratching my head with a smile on my face, and Luna who heard me started to laugh.

I then grabbed my bag and took out a red-covered book and handed it to Luna.

"Congratulations, you got the book," I said, and Luna, who was still chuckling a little, looked at me, at the book, and then at the confusion in the library.

"Must have been my caramel cherry leaf earrings, they bring good luck," she smiled, picking up the book.

"Yeah, it must have been the earrings" I smiled at her.

End.

(End AN: Hello my friends!

Today I unfortunately had a bad night's sleep... in fact, I didn't even sleep hehe.

Staying awake for 24 hours is a very bad thing, but my insomnia didn't allow me to sleep.

At least I was able to take advantage of this time to prepare an amazing and big breakfast for my mother with my sister.

Happy Mothers Day!!

Hope you enjoyed the chapter!)
