Yeah! Here's the new chapter!

After my 'situation' with the luminous fairy, Hagrid and I continued to look at the other creatures, with the half-giant telling me what he knew about each one. And I have to say... the man knows what he's doing.

Hagrid is like a giant Wikipedia about magical creatures, and if it weren't for his obsession with the 'coolest' animals, meaning completely dangerous, he would certainly be a great teacher.

But well, I have to agree with him on that... the less dangerous creatures aren't all that nice. I'm not saying I want to see a Nundu or anything like that, but a rat that sneezes smoke is not so nice to see.

I think the interesting creatures are XXX ranked creatures, and some XX and XXXX class creatures.

Well... At least I could see how my connection works with magical creatures, and it's completely different from ordinary animals.

Magical creatures seem to have more emotions and awareness than normal ones, and this makes the connection more complex and closer. And something interesting I've noticed is that the higher the rating, the more complex the connection. And that makes me wonder what the connection to a Hippogriff or a Dragon would be like.

'Hmm, maybe I'll ask Hagrid to show me some high-ranking animal, or I just need to wait until my third year to meet Buckbeak' I mused, 'Wait! Won't Hagrid get a Dragon Egg this year? So I just have to wait until he gets the egg and Norbert, or Norberta, hatches!' I thought excitedly.

Well, my future plans aside, my ride with Hagrid soon came to an end, with him promising to let me know if he has any cool new creatures to show me, and me promising to stop by your hut every now and then for tea. And with that, I knew I was possibly going to meet the golden trio sooner than I expected.

So after saying goodbye to Hagrid, I went to the last place I wanted to explore in the castle, which is possibly the second place I most wanted to go, right behind the Room of Requirement...

The Forbidden Forest.

"Haaa" I sighed in satisfaction, arms outstretched to better receive the air, "Nothing better than breathing the pure air of nature...with a touch of danger, pine and death" I said, looking up at the big trees of the forest in front of me.

Currently I was at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, getting ready to explore and look for some magical creatures... and getting ready to run if it all blows up. And from the history of this forest... This is more than likely to happen.

I then looked at the forest, and I could immediately see why it was feared by the students.

The forest was massive and had many types of trees, from oak to yew, with each one being denser and older than the other. The grass grew tall at the roots of the trees, which only made walking through the forest difficult, even with some paths already made. The forest also had some species of shrubs and flowers, with some being magical and some not, and the most noticeable flower in the forest was a black flower that grew from the ground and the shrubs present.

At some point or another you could see some small animal running through the trees, disappearing so fast you could barely see what kind of animal it was. The sounds coming from the forest were many; like the singing of birds, the screeching of squirrels, the sound of nearby streams, cries for help, falling leaves and breaking branches... everything a forest should have.

And while I was at it, I could have sworn I heard a werewolf howl...and it's still daylight.

"Well…this is a pretty dark forest" I commented to myself. I then looked around to see if no one was seeing me, and as soon as I confirmed that I was alone, I started to enter the forest.

As I entered the forest, I was disappointed not to find anything interesting. But then I understood that I was still close to the edge, and animals, especially magicians, weren't going to get too close to that area because it's closer to humans.

Realizing that if I wanted to find anything I would have to go deeper into the woods, I took my wand out of its holster and got a grip on my emotions. And when I felt I was ready, I started moving forward.

The next few minutes of walking were uneventful, however I still hadn't encountered any magical creatures, so I kept walking until I reached a clearing.

The clearing was devoid of the dark vegetation of the forest, making it stand out like a lantern in the dark, and in the center of this clearing was a lake of crystal clear water, which, together with the grass and trees in the background, gave this clearing a ethereal appearance.

But what stood out most in the clearing was a small foal that was drinking water in the lake.

The reason this foal stood out was because unlike normal horses, this one was glowing in gold, lighting up the part he was on, and he brought feelings of purity and even the plants around him seemed more alive.

'Merlin! This is a baby unicorn!' I said in surprise, 'He must be less than two years old, as the books said that baby unicorns were pure gold and didn't have horns yet' I thought as I recited their description in the books in my head.

'Well, lucky me... Young unicorns are more accessible to men, as older ones prefer the feminine touch.'

So, with that in mind, I started to move cautiously towards the foal, being careful not to startle him. And when I was a good five meters from the foal I stopped walking, knowing that if I got any closer I would probably alert the little unicorn and he might consider me a threat.

With the foal still not noticing my approach, I started to open a connection between us, transferring feelings of peace, tranquility and security. And the moment I opened the connection, the little golden horse turned its head in my direction in surprise, and just the fact that the connection was conveying that I wasn't a threat stopped it from running away.

The foal then started to stare at me, and I could feel he was wary of me, but he also had a touch of doubt and calm. And not wanting to risk him running, I looked him in the eye and started to convey more positive feelings.

The little foal, who from the beginning did not take his eyes off mine, began to lose his feelings of caution, which began to be replaced by doubt, curiosity and happiness.

He then whinnied and snorted happily, and started to move closer to me. And I who was seeing this, I kept standing there conveying feelings for the connection, waiting for the foal with a gentle smile on his face, and when he got much closer to me, I knelt down and held my right hand out to him.

The foal, which walked towards me with slow but steady steps, reached in front of my hand. He then sniffed at her, and after being satisfied, he gave a cheerful little snort. The little animal then went and rested its head in the palm of my hand, giving me permission to pet it, which I wasted no time and started to do, much to the little one's satisfaction and joy.

End.
