-Thursday – After dinner-

After dinner the boys and I were resting in the common room when a second year rushed through the passage. He then started looking around, looking for something, and seeming to have found what he was looking for, he ran to a group of seconds years that were at a table in the corner.

"Did you hear? Harry Potter has become the Gryffindor Quidditch Team Seeker! Youngest Seeker of the Century!" this second year exclaimed, not bothering to keep his voice down, making everyone in the common room hear what he said.

'News here travels fast. Potter didn't join the team until the end of third class' I thought, impressed by the speed at which gossip was transmitted around the school, 'And wasn't his joining the team supposed to be a secret?'

"What?!"

"Really?! How?"

"I expected no less from Harry Potter!"

After hearing this news, the students in the common room started talking and asking questions for this second year, and there were even some who started making their own theories of how Potter managed to make the Quidditch team.

"What?!" Corner, who was sitting on the couch across from me, said shocked, "But he's a first year!" he exclaimed.

"But how? I thought the first few years weren't allowed to join the Quidditch team?" Terry asked, confusion evident on his face.

"Why just him? I wanted to make the Quidditch team too," whined Anthony beside me.

And apparently it wasn't just them who were confused and shocked by Potter's entry into the Gryffindor Quidditch team. A few other students in the common room also started talking about this blatant favoritism.

They then started talking about how they couldn't audition for the Quidditch team when they were in their freshman year. And my classmates started talking about how they too wanted to join the Ravenclaw team, and how they could join if they had the chance.

'This is the home of the smart, but don't they know how to solve this simple problem?' I questioned myself exasperated.

Looking at the mess the common room was left with, I decided to give them a little help.

"Ahem!" I then cleared my throat to get the common room attention, but the students were talking so loud they didn't even hear me, and I could only roll my eyes at how they looked like a group of gossip old ladies.

Seeing as how their argument was going nowhere, I cast a {Sonorus} at myself and cleared my throat again.

"Ahem!" my voice echoed in the common room, making everyone hear it. And finally everyone started paying attention to me.

"Well I'm glad you all are finally quiet and paying attention to me now" I said with a smile that wasn't a smile, causing a shiver down some of the students' backs, "And first of all, why are you making all this fuss?" I then asked.

"What do you mean 'Why are you making all this fuss'? Potter just joined the Gryffindor Quidditch team!" a third year exclaimed.

"And?" I questioned, with a raised eyebrow.

"And that he is a first year!" that same third year responded.

"And what's the problem with him being a first year?" I kept questioning.

I knew the reason for their indignation, but I wanted him to respond, so it would be easier for me to help with their problem if they tell me what the problem is.

"And what's up? What's up is that he's a first year, and the first years are banned from joining the Quidditch teams! But he could, and that's clearly favoritism!" now an irritated sophomore who responded, and a few other students nodded in agreement.

"Well, as I remember, the first few years are prohibited from 'Having your own broomstick' There's nothing to forbid them from joining the Quidditch teams," I said, and I could see some students open their mouths to argue. only to close when they realized they didn't have an answer to it, "Plus, if Potter became the 'Youngest Seeker in a Century' that means that one century ago another first year must also have joined one of the Quidditch team. And that's just the Seeker, we don't even know about the other positions," I continued calmly.

After I finished speaking, everyone in the common room stopped and started thinking about what I said, and none of them could find a way to refute me.

"Actually, I remember reading about a student in the Trophy Room who became one of the beaters when he was in his freshman year," Helena Mercyl, a fourth-year girl, said.

"I also remember seeing about this student" Sophia said, "But it happened in 1600, so things may have changed"

"Here at Hogwarts rules it doesn't really say anything about joining the Quidditch team, it only says about carrying a broomstick," a student who picked up a rulebook from the Ravenclaw library said.

"See? In that case, Potter is only allowed to have a broom. Joining the team is not against the rules," I said with a shrug.

Seeing as how everyone was reflecting on what I said, I decided to knock while the iron was still hot.

"Besides, if you're so upset about Potter being picked for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, why don't you go talk to Professor Flitwick, who is our Head of House?" I asked, seriously questioning if this really was the home of the smart.

"And what would we talk to him about?" that same third year who yelled at me asked, speaking more calmly now, realizing that I might have a way to solve this problem.

"Simple. Just talk about the favoritism with Potter and about how you also want the first few years of our house can also participate in the tests for the Quidditch teams" I replied calmly, "And you can also talk about how Potter was chosen directly for the team without even doing the tests for the Quidditch team, as I heard from a Gryffindor that the tests will be done tomorrow" I finished, and I could see many eyes looking at me with awe and respect.

"But will the teacher allow it?" a fourth year asked dubiously.

"It's Professor Flitwick. What do you think?" I said.

"I guess-"

"It was a rhetorical question" I interrupted rolling my eyes, "But going on. Yes, Professor Flitwick will most likely allow it. And even if he won't, just take this issue to the Headmaster."

"What if Headmaster doesn't allow it?" Terry who had been quiet this whole time asked me.

"Well... then we'll just spread to the other houses about favoritism with Potter and explain to them what they should talk to their own Heads of House" I said with a smirk on my face, and I could even see two horns and a tail appearing behind me, "And I'm sure the Slytherins will be more than willing to support us. And the Hufflepuff likes justice, so they'll probably help us, and with that, we'll have three-quarters of the school supporting us. And with that, I doubt the Headmaster and teachers can deny our request," I finished, with a glint in my eyes that startled the students around me.

"W-well... I-I think...this might work," a fifth year said, refusing to meet my gaze.

"But the question is…who will speak to Professor Flitwick?" Anthony, who didn't mind the awkward atmosphere in the common room, asked.

End.
