Yeah! Here's the new chapter!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After my conversation with the golden trio finally ended the four of us headed towards the Great Hall, and as soon as we arrived there we split up, with them going to the Gryffindor table while I went to the Ravenclaw table to have dinner with my friends.
And as I ate my dinner I kept thinking about the conversation I had with them, wondering what they would do now that they knew where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets was and how to open it.
In canon, they left the chamber untouched and abandoned after Harry killed the basilisk and defeated the fragment of young Voldemort's soul, and only returned to visit the place at the end of the seventh book and eighth film because they needed another basilisk fang to destroy the Horcruxes.
However, their lack of interest in the chamber could also be described as a type of repulsion or trauma, since what led them to find the place was a sequence of unpleasant situations.
It all started with strange voices coming from the walls, followed by an attack on Mrs Norris and a frightening message talking about purging the school of Muggles.
After that, the students found out about the legend of the Chamber of Secrets, making them realize that there could be a monster loose in the school, and then the public revelation about Harry being a Parselmouth occurred, which led his classmates to be afraid of him and isolate him.
Soon after this, more attacks occurred where people ended up completely paralyzed, and Hermione, a member of the trio, ended up being one of the victims.
And when everyone thought it couldn't get any worse, Ginny was kidnapped, which led Harry and Ron to have to enter the Chamber of Secrets to rescue her.
And concluding this sequence of unfortunate and frightening events, Harry had to fight a deadly and bloodthirsty ancient snake, but not before discovering that the cause of all the problems was in fact the same man who ruined his life, or rather, a fragment of his soul when he was still just a student.
And I was sure that if it were anyone else having to go through these situations they would definitely be so traumatized that they would even consider leaving Hogwarts, and maybe even the wizarding world.
That is, if they didn't end up in some psychiatric ward or mental institution.
Stress, fear, anxiety, worry... All of this together would certainly make anyone develop PTSD or some psychological and mental problem, and I think that not even the best psychologist or mental healer would be able to solve this.
Of course, I don't know many healers or psychologists, but I don't think there are any who would treat patients who have had to face and kill one of the most dangerous magical creatures in the entire world.
And speaking of the basilisk, I realized that in all the conversation I had with the Gryffindor trio they didn't even ask about Slytherin's monster.
Well, actually Hermione had asked me at the beginning about what was inside the chamber, but she didn't specify whether she was talking about the monster or not.
And after that neither she nor the boys mentioned the subject again, which was a relief to me, as it would have been difficult to explain about the basilisk and how I got past it.
And come to think of it, I think the three teenagers forgot to ask about the creature that was supposed to inhabit the Chamber of Secrets because they were too shocked, surprised to discover that the entrance to the chamber was actually hidden in the girls' bathroom.
And I could understand them, since it wasn't every day that you discovered that a place so important to Hogwarts' history, and that was even sacred to some Slytherin students, was connected to such a nasty and filthy place.
'If we put aside the disgusting, humiliating, and slightly embarrassing part of the situation, it was actually a pretty smart move to hide the entrance in a random bathroom' I reflected, not being able to deny that there was a certain amount of shrewdness involved in it.
And I don't remember which of Salazar's descendants changed the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets, or whether he put it in the girl's bathroom on purpose, but I think that either way, he deserved due congratulations for his 'genius'.
But putting those thoughts aside, I shook my head, going back to thinking about what Harry, Hermione and Ron would do from now on with the knowledge about the Chamber of Secrets.
But after thinking about it for a while I realized that it really didn't matter what they did.
The most they could do would be to enter the chamber, and that wouldn't be a problem since I had already collected everything that was possibly dangerous and lethal in that place, and even the dead body of the basilisk was already safely stored in my suitcase.
So the only thing left for them to do there would be to explore the place, which wasn't dangerous or risky, thanks to the lack of a XXXXX class creature lurking in the pipes, or rather, crawling in them.
And maybe in the end they don't even spend much time inside the Chamber of Secrets, since without all the 'interesting' things the place was nothing more than a big chamber that looked more like a sewer.
And besides, with Ron's fearful personality, plus his contempt for everything Slytherin, and Hermione's caution and common sense, they might not even enter or get close to the chamber.
The only person of the golden trio who would be interested and curious enough to try to enter the Chamber of Secrets, even to the point of insisting on it overcoming any common sense and survival instinct, would be Harry, for quite obvious reasons.
'Well, then I guess it will all depend on whether Ron and Hermione can get the idea of entering the chamber out of Harry's head, or whether Harry will be insistent enough to convince his two friends to join him in this exploration through Hogwarts underground' I thought with a snort.
And of course, these are all just my assumptions considering what I know about them and their personalities.
Perhaps the thought of entering or even approaching the Chamber of Secrets is not even crossing their minds.
And thinking about it, that was the most likely option, especially since they had more important things going on this year that required their full attention.
'They're actually not the only ones,' I thought with pursed lips, 'Now that the Tri-Wizard Tournament and the school year are almost over, things are going to get even more stressful and dangerous, and that also means I'm going to be quite busy until it's all over.'
And thinking about what would happen at the end of the third task I couldn't help but feel tense and worried.
'Sigh, I just hope everything goes as planned, or at least I hope I can protect Harry and Fleur in the maze, and then get out of that graveyard with Harry alive and unharmed'
And that was my main concern, but I knew that thinking about it wouldn't do any good.
The only thing I could do to increase the chances of my plans working out and also increase our chances of survival was to prepare myself, improving my strengths and skills before the big event.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few days later – June 23
It had been a few days since my conversation with the golden trio, and in those days that passed I did almost nothing, just training and improving my skills.
Just as I said, I started preparing for the third task, and knowing the challenges that awaited me, I created an intense training schedule for myself.
And following this schedule I remained in the Room of Requirement almost most of my time, training incessantly.
And I was so focused on that that I even put aside my personal projects and studies a little.
Of course, I still spent time with my friends and attended Nick and Penny's classes, knowing that they would be worried about me if I completely isolated myself.
And I also used some of my time to continue teaching and training Fleur and the golden trio, as well as occasionally showing up at my study group sessions.
But when I wasn't doing any of those things my day could basically be summed up as training, eating and sleeping.
And following this logic, today should be another day of training for me, but actually I wouldn't do anything too exhausting or stressful for my body today, just intending to rest and relax.
And the reason why I wouldn't do anything and just rest was because today was Friday, but not just any Friday.
Today was the penultimate Friday of June, which meant it was the eve of the third task of the Tri-Wizard Tournament.
And since there was only one day left before the start of the third task, I decided to give my body a break, since pushing it too hard would end up having the opposite effect to what I wanted, especially so close to an event that would require great physical effort from me.
And well, now I had the whole day free for myself, and I just needed to think about what to do to pass the time, since I didn't want to just lie in my bed lazily.
'Hmm, I could call my friends over to play some games, or maybe I'll take a walk through the Forbidden Forest' I thought, before shrugging, 'Meh, I still have a lot of time to decide'
End.
