Yup! Here's the new chapter!

After that emotional lunch, where Terry started staring at me paranoid in fear of a prank, we started heading to the castle greenhouses, where our Herbology class with Hufflepuff would be.

The greenhouses were on the land at the back of the castle, and this was where we would learn the practical part of Herbology, while the theoretical part of teaching would take place in the south tower.

When we arrived at the greenhouses, we found Professor Sprout waiting for us.

"Good afternoon, kids!" Professor Sprout began to say happily, "I'm Herbology Professor and Head House of Hufflepuff, Pomona Sprout" she said smiling at everyone kindly, and many of the Puffs looked happy with her.

"Today we will have a practice class in greenhouse one" Professor Sprout said, and then started to lead us to the greenhouse, "Remember! First year classes will always be greenhouse one so don't try to go to the other greenhouses , since they are for more advanced students and have more dangerous plants" she warned us, and some students started looking around cautiously.

When we got to greenhouse one, Professor Sprout told us to sit down. I sat with Anthony on my left side and Terry beside Anthony, and on my other side sat Lisa Turpin, a Ravenclaw of my year.

"Today we will be learning about Spiky Bush" Professor Sprout said to the entire class, "Can anyone tell me what kind of plant this is?" she then asked us, and many Puffs and Ravens raised their hands, with Anthony being one of the most excited to answer.

"Hmm, Miss Bones!" Professor Sprout said, choosing a Hufflepuff girl, much to Anthony's dismay.

"Spiky Bushs are semi-sentient bushes that have big yellow thorns growing on them" said Susan Bones, a girl with strawberry blond hair, "Spiky Bushs shoot their thorns when they feel threatened or when someone gets too close to them" she finished .

"Great explanation, Miss Bones. 5 points for Hufflepuff!" Professor Sprout said smiling.

The rest of the class was her explaining the role of Spiky Bushs and how to destroy them. She then brought us a Spiky Bush and explained to us what spell we were going to use and how to cast it.

"The spell to destroy the Spiky Bushs is the conjuration spell to make fire {Incendio}" Professor Sprout told us, "The spell's pronunciation is in-SEN-dee-o, and the wand movement is as if you were drawing a flame, it goes up and down. But be careful, I recommend casting the spell at a good distance from Spiky Bush" she finished the explanation and allowed us to try the spell.

With my wand already in hand, I pointed it at Spiky Bush and recited the spell while moving my wand according to Professor Sprout's demonstration.

"{Incendio}" I recited, only to receive a small puff of smoke from the tip of my wand.

'Strange... I was always good with elements, so why did the spell fail?' I thought, looking at my wand, which vibrated a little.

I then began to go over all of Professor Sprout's moves step by step in my mind. But I didn't see any difference between her spell casting and mine.

I looked to my side, only to see the boys looking at me with raised eyebrows, probably expecting me to cast the spell at first like the other times.

And looking at them, I shrugged and turned my attention to my wand. And deciding that what my spell lacked was power, I tried again. I then pointed my wand at the semi-sentient plant.

"{Incendio}" I said calmly. And then from the tip of my wand came a powerful jet of red and orange flame, which when it hit the Spiky Bush ended up incinerating it.

When the flames left my wand, the students around me backed away in alarm, and even I gave a little jump myself.

'Fuck... I think I overplayed the spell's power a little,' I thought to myself, looking at the ashes in surprise.

"Oh! What powerful conjuration Mr...?" Professor Sprout, who was behind me, said, before looking at me questioningly.

"Night, Ethan Night" I replied to her.

"Mr. Night! You managed to be the first to cast the spell. And to top it off it was very powerful" Professor Sprout told me, looking in awe at where Spiky Bush should have been, but now it just remained ashes, "Take 10 points to Ravenclaw! And great job, I hope you keep it up," she told me smiling, to which I nodded with a smile of my own.

Professor Sprout then left to see the other students' work, and I looked to the side, only to find Anthony and Terry staring at me with blank faces.

"... Was I lucky?" I tried to make an excuse, but from the look I was getting from them I realized it didn't really work. So after helping them with the spell, I continued to practice the spellcasting by decreasing the flame's potency.

At the end of class I was the only one who managed to destroy Spiky Bush completely, or more like incinerating him, and those who came close were Anthony, Terry, Bones, Turpin, who swallowed his pride and ended up asking for my help in some moment, and Megan Jones, a short, brown-haired Hufflepuff girl. The others managed at most to produce a small jet of flame, but it wouldn't be enough to destroy Spiky Bush from a safe distance.

"Good! All of you were great today" Professor Sprout started praising us as the class ended, "But some of you are still having trouble casting the spell, so study up on it as next class we'll try again. Now go or you guys are late for your next class," she said as she shooed us out of the greenhouses.

After the Herbology class was over, the boys and I then started going to our last class of the day, which would be Defense Against the Dark Arts.

The DADA class was just a continuation of the other two classes and a deepening of the creatures spoken of in them. And since I already knew all this from studying the books, I decided to skip the rest of the class and then started reading a book about dark creatures until class was over.

The last class of the day came to an end, which meant we had the rest of the afternoon free until dinnertime. Anthony, Terry and me then decided to stay in the library and read until dinner.

While I was in the library, I saw Granger sitting at a table alone, surrounded by some books and intent on reading them. As I passed, she looked up from her book and looked at me, and I could feel her conflicting emotions. She conveyed feelings of curiosity, jealousy, sadness and happiness. I was confused by feeling her emotions, as there were so many and each one was more confusing than the other, and at some point I even thought about using legilimency on her, but I decided to respect her privacy.

I then continued walking to a table with Anthony and Terry, thinking that at some other time I might approach her, as I wasn't hurry and didn't see the need to meddle in her affairs.

After that, the boys and I stayed reading and studying in the library until dinnertime came, and as we headed for the Great Hall, Anthony decided to take precautions by looking at his reflection in the armor in corridors, to see if I made another pranks with him, which he sighed, relieved to see that there was nothing strange about him.

End.
