Yeah! Here's the new chapter!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the Headmaster finished greeting Moody he gestured for the old Auror to sit in the free seat on his right, and after the scarred man with a magical eye sat down the Headmaster turned to all the students again.
"I would like to introduce you all to the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Moody!" he said in an excited tone into the silence of the Great Hall.
But that silence didn't last long, as many people started whispering in disbelief.
Some for not expecting the scary man to be our new DADA teacher, and another for recognizing the name Moody, the famous dark wizard hunter auror.
Letting the conversation subside a bit, the Headmaster continued with his announcement.
"As I was saying..." he began to speak, "We will be honored to host a very exciting and incredible event in the coming months, an event that has not been held for centuries"
Seeing that all the students were now fully paying attention to him, ignoring Moody beside him, the Headmaster cracked a smile on his old face.
"I am delighted to inform you that this year, we will be holding the Triwizard Tournament here at Hogwarts!" and finally he opened his arms dramatically, delighting in the looks and surprised exclamations of the students.
Almost all of the students were shocked by this news, even though most of them don't even know what the Triwizard Tournament is.
And among those shocked by the news, there were those who were excited about a tournament happening at *Cough... Twins... Cough* school.
The Headmaster then proceeded to explain the functioning of the Triwizard tournament and some of its most basic rules, also talking about its high mortality rate.
And unsurprisingly, almost immediately the part about the high mortality rate was ignored by the school witches and wizards who suffered from a lack of common sense, with a tiny amount actually caring about that short piece of information.
And those worried about that information soon forgot it as the Headmaster spoke about the prize the champion would receive, the oh-so-amazing Thousand Galleons.
"Damn, that's a lot of money" Terry remarked dumbfounded, with a hint of greed in his voice.
And seeing everyone else nodding in agreement I looked away, remembering that I spent close to a thousand Galleons on every visit I made to Diagon Alley.
'Even Malfoy, who should belong to one of the richest wizarding families has a greedy look' I thought, looking at the boy who was almost drooling on the Slytherin table, showing all his pureblood dignity.
Shaking my head, I looked back at the Headmaster, just as he announced the age limit of seventeen to participate in the tournament.
"An age limit?! That's not fair!" A fifth year Ravenclaw exclaimed indignantly, receiving several nods of agreement.
"Yes! Everyone should be able to participate!" a Slytherin shouted.
And even my friends had pissed off looks, complaining about this unfair rule.
And while everyone continued to complain the Headmaster continued, not paying much attention to the younger students' indignant exclamations and angry speeches.
"The delegations from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will arrive towards the end of October and will stay with us for the remainder of the year, and I know that you will all show your good manners and respect the two foreign schools while they are here" and at this point the Headmaster looked at all with a serious look, showing that he wasn't suggesting but ordering us to behave.
And no one dared to meet the Headmaster's gaze or contradict his words, and seeing this he nodded in satisfaction, continuing his speech.
"And I also know that you all will give your full support to the Hogwarts champion when he is chosen, regardless of which house he or she is from"
And this time the students nodded, as they knew it was time to put house differences aside, as the enemies and rivals would be other schools.
"Well, that was the announcement. Now it's late, and I know you'll need to get up early for your classes tomorrow, so let's end our feast here. Let's go to sleep, everyone to your beds!"
And with a last wave of his hand, the Headmaster shooed all the students away, who obediently stood up, still digesting the information they had just received.
And in the middle of my group of Ravenclaw friends we went to our common room, with all the ravens talking or whispering to each other, excited about the tournament.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After arriving in the common room instead of going to sleep as ordered by the Headmaster, all the ravens split into groups, being very excited and expectant to get to sleep.
And not even the prefects tried to send the students to their rooms, also involved in their conversations about the tournament and who would be the Hogwarts champion.
I also didn't go straight to my room and spent some time chatting with my friends I hadn't seen over the holidays, also talking a bit with Roger and the rest of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, who were a bit disappointed that they couldn't play this year.
But after spending some time interacting and being socially active, I went to my room, and upon reaching it I changed it to my liking using magic just as I had done the other times in the last few school years.
Finishing tidying up my room and changing into more comfortable clothes I sat down on my bed, and lifting my hand I looked down at my ATLAS on my wrist.
"Activate Map," I said, stretching my arm forward.
A dark ink then began to ooze from the stone that was in the center of the bracelet, which was glowing in a faint purple light. The ink landed on the floor in front of me before it began to move, forming a detailed map of Hogwarts on my floor.
"Look for Alastor Moody" I said, and the map moved, until it focused on the office designated for the DADA teachers.
Looking at the map I could see that Moody was motionless in a corner of the office, probably trapped inside the trunk.
I then started looking around the office, not finding Barty Junior's name, and after using the ATLAS search I found his name in the Headmaster's office next to Dumbledore's name.
'Hmm, a death eater impersonating one of your closest friends and you don't even realize it' I thought, shaking my head in disappointment.
"Fine, but that works for my plans," I muttered, taking one last quick look at the map before canceling it.
Seeing the paint disappear from the floor and the glow of my bracelet fading, I lay down on my bed, looking up at the ceiling which had some paintings of stars and galaxies, painted by me.
'I don't want to have to let Moody spend all that time in that trunk, but I still need Barty Junior so he's going to have to wait a while' I thought.
'Besides, he's faced dark wizards and death more times than you can count, so spending a few months in a chest must be nothing to him'
And if Moody were here and could hear my thoughts, he would definitely want to jinx me all the way across the continent.
"Meow!" I heard Nyx meow, and looking to my side I saw her sitting up in bed looking confused at my pensive appearance.
"Hi Nyx" I said to her, picking her up and placing her on my lap.
Nyx then started to purr, and I figured she was probably bored having been in her cage all day on the train ride here only to be stuck in my room afterwards.
'Hmm, maybe her boredom will pass tomorrow when she takes a walk around the school' I thought, still petting her.
'Actually I don't know if there's much interesting stuff for her to do at school compared to the students... The last time I saw her excited about something was when I asked her to look for Sirius last year'
Continuing to run my hand through Nyx's smooth, soft fur, I stared at the wall in front of me, until an idea came to mind, causing me to turn to Nyx who was relaxing contentedly in my lap.
"Nyx, what do you think about doing some spy work?" I asked my cat, who simply tilted her head as if she was considering my question.
A few seconds then passed with her in silence before she nodded.
"Meow!" she meowed, and I could tell she was interested in the spy job.
"Great" I said smiling.
'Now I'll have a discreet way to spy on Barty Junior to see what he's up to'
End.
