-Cells Room-

[POV – Third Person]

After exiting her office, Amelia hurriedly made her way to the cells in the room adjacent to courtroom 10, and upon arriving there she saw a pair of Aurors in front of the door guarding the room.

Arriving in front of them, Amelia passed without saying anything, with both Aurors nodding at her before returning to their work.

Entering the room Amelia saw a group of 5 aurors walking and looking for clues while waving their wands, and walking a little further she saw the Auror Connor sitting in a chair inside one of the cells with an ice pack on his head while he had a vial of potion in his hand, grimacing in pain.

Beside Connor was another auror, who had a parchment in one hand and a quill in the other, asking questions and writing down Connor's answers.

Looking at Connor, Amelia decided that she would ask him some questions as well, but up ahead she saw two Aurors in front of another Auror who was sprawled on the ground, and it didn't take Amelia much thought to realize that that was probably Myers.

Walking over to them, Amelia got a good look at Myers, noting his pale, breathless face, also noting that he had his eyes closed, which meant he was still unconscious when he was killed.

"Report," Amelia said in a commanding tone, and the Auror at her side saluted before starting to speak.

"Only one dead and one missing. According to Auror Connor's statement, he and Myers were escorting Pettigrew to his cell, when suddenly Pettigrew fell to the floor, and shortly thereafter they were stunned," the Auror said, and then he looked at the body at his feet.

"When Auror Clinton came to check on the prisoner he found Auror Connor inside one of the cells locked and unconscious, while Myers was here, dead, and after some analysis and using the detection spells we discovered that the cause of death was the Killing Curse"

"Any information on who killed him or where Pettigrew is?" Amelia asked, and this time the other auror stepped forward and began to speak.

"No boss, we've looked for any sign of magic signatures, and other than Myers and Connor we haven't found any others, which is strange since we detect a small amount of magic in the surroundings, and it doesn't come from the wards or from some witch or wizard" he said with a furrowed brow, "We haven't found any traces leading us to Pettigrew either, but the other Aurors are still looking for him"

"No magic signature?" Amelia muttered to herself with a frown.

Usually all witches and wizards left some magic signature when they used magic, and this signature could be detected by some detection spells.

However, having no magical signatures is not strange in itself, as the witch or wizard might just not have cast any spells, or might not even have been a wizard at all. What was really strange about this whole situation was the fact that there was unusual magic in the place.

As far as Amelia knew, only magic items made by magic itself, animals, and some magical plants leaked magic but left no magic signature.

And with those facts, Amelia came to the conclusion that either the killer and trespasser had somehow managed to clean up his tracks, or he was a animal, sentient plant, or magical item.

'But that doesn't make sense, what does a magical animal or plant have to do with Pettigrew's escape?' Amelia wondered, but then she stopped and began to ponder, 'Did the killer use any of these things to break into the room without using a spell? But if that's the case, he still used the Killing Curse, and that curse should have left some magical signature'

Amelia continued to think about it for a moment, but then she shook her head.

'This is not the time for this,' Amelia told herself, and then turned to the Aurors who were silent as they awaited her next orders.

"Continue with your investigation in this room, and take Auror Myers' body to St. Mungo's and contact his family," Amelia said, and the two Aurors nodded.

Amelia then turned and started towards the door, knowing that she needed to inform Sirius and the others of what was going on.

As she passed the cell in which Auror Connor was giving his statement, she turned to him.

"Auror Connor, go to the infirmary, and when you're better I'll wait for you in my office" she said, and then turned to the auror who was accompanying him, "And you will accompany him, he needs protection, just For precaution"

And finishing saying that, she continued to walk.

'Things are worse than I thought... And this wasn't a simple escape...' she thought.

-Atrium – With Nick and the others-

After journalists found out that the one in front of them was the most famous alchemist in the world, they started asking questions, as it wasn't always that you could interview the famous 600 year old magician.

"Mr. Flamel, what are you doing accompanying Mr. Black?" a journalist asked.

"Oh, I'm his friend, so I've come to offer my support to him in this trial" Nick replied, and hearing his response the journalists widened their eyes, looking between Nick and Sirius in surprise.

And hearing this Andromeda resisted the urge to smile, as she knew Nick had done it on purpose to leverage Sirius' fame and influence.

"When did you become friends? And how?"

"Well, I met Sirius after he broke out of Azkaban, and coincidentally I was spending my holidays here in England" Nick said, "I didn't want to get involved in the official affairs of your ministry, but something in me told me that Sirius was not a crazy murderer, so I talked to him and after that I found out the truth about the whole story"

"And my husband, being a good-hearted person, decided he would help Sirius," Penny said, moving closer to Nick and hugging his arm, "Nick even got the French Minister to agree to give Sirius a trial, even offering to him French citizenship so he wouldn't have to keep running forever here in Great Britain."

"That is a very kind and honorable act Mr. Flamel" one of the more honest journalists said, smiling softly at Nick, who shrugged with a small smile.

"I didn't do much," Nick said, and Penny patted his arm.

"Just take the compliment," she said.

And while the two played like a real old couple, one of the young journalists turned to his co-worker.

"Err... Who is she?" he asked in a whisper.

"I haven't the slightest idea," his companion replied.

"She is Perenelle Flamel, the wife of Mr. Flamel. It is said that she is as good as he is in alchemy, and she is a master of runes and spells... In fact, at least 30% of the wards used across the wizarding world were created by her" one of the older journalists, a potbellied man, replied, having overheard their conversation.

"Oh... That..." the young journalist stammered in surprise, with his companion just gaping at the two immortals.

"Haha, yes, this was also my reaction when i realized it was them" the older journalist said, patting the young man on the shoulder before turning his attention back to the Flamels' answers.

And as the journalists continued to interview Nick and Penny, Sirius sighed in relief, glad that the attention was no longer on him.

He then proceeded to look around, until his gaze landed on Amelia who was walking hurriedly towards them with a worried frown.

"Amelia?" Sirius called confused.

"I need to talk to you... urgently" she said as soon as she was in front of him, and without waiting for Sirius to say something she grabbed one of his arms and started pulling him, trying to get away from the journalists.

Seeing Amelia's concerned look, Sirius let himself be led by her, with Andromeda following, a little confused but also curious.

Nick and Penny were also paying attention to Amelia from the moment she arrived, and they turned to follow her, trying to get away from the journalists.

But the journalists were insistent, and didn't want to let Nick and Penny out, and Nick really started to get irritated, feeling his hand twitch and wanting to reach for his wand, and Amelia realized this and quickly spoke, not wanting Nick to hex they.

"Listen, it's about time you guys left, so stop bothering Mr. and Mrs. Flamel" Amelia said, giving the journalists a stern look, with some actually taking a step back, not wanting to piss off the Head of DMLE.

However, there were those who were either very foolish or very brave and determined, which meant they were also foolish only from another point of view, as they still went ahead to argue with Amelia.

But just as they opened their mouths to start complaining, Moody took a step forward, slamming his walking stick into the ground creating a small magic wave, which pushed all the journalists back.

The journalists then stopped, looking scared at Moody who was staring at them with ferocity, with his magical eye passing through all of them and causing shivers in their bodies.

"Didn't you hear her? Get out!" he barked, and with a startled leap, all the journalists scattered like flies, causing Moody to snort.

"Cowards" he said, turning and walking towards Amelia, "What's going on Amelia? I haven't seen you worried and stressed like this since this idiot's escape here" He pointed at Sirius, who looked at him offended but wisely kept his mouth shut.

And everyone waited for Amelia's answer, but she just looked at Moody with a strange face, causing him to raise an eyebrow.

"What?" Moody asked.

And shaking her head with a sigh, Amelia swept her gaze over everyone, knowing it would be difficult for some of them to hear her next words, especially Sirius.

"Sigh... I'm here because... Because Pettigrew escaped" she said.

...

...

...

...

"WHAT?!"

End.
