Chapter 14

-Charing Cross Road-

"Ugh, I'm never riding that again!" my mother exclaimed angrily, leaning on my father, a little dizzy.

"I… found out… which will be… the first thing… That i'm going to do when… I've my wand… I'm going to bewitch into oblivion, the person who invented THIS DAMN BUS !" I spoke between pauses to catch my breath and the anger I felt at the evil bastard who thought creating a bus that goes against all the laws of physics would be a good idea.

"Calm down son, we don't need—" mine started to say, until he was cut off by my mother who grabbed my shoulders and started to stare at me.

"That's right son. Find this person and make him suffer for creating this monstrosity with wheels, make him beg on his knees, make him pay... in blood!" my mom said to me with conviction, anger, and a hint of insanity. And I couldn't help but feel a shiver down my spine hearing this, but at the same time I was also proud of my mother, and my father who was beside us started to look at us strangely as he walked away from us slowly.

"Uh, it wasn't that bad either," my dad said, pulling us out of thoughts of torturing a certain someone, as he tried and failed to not seem bothered by the trip.

''Hard to believe that when you were the one who screamed the most!'' was the thought that crossed my and my mother's minds.

"Yup! Let's go again! Let's go?!" Cele squealed excitedly, throwing her arms up happily.

I then started looking at Cele strangely, because if anyone could really enjoy riding the Knight Bus, surely that someone would need to be kept under surveillance, because such a person is NOT normal!

"Maybe another time honey…or never" my mom told Cele with a strained smile on her face, whispering the last part.

"Don't worry, I don't like riding the Knight Bus either, but you guys get used to it. And besides, this isn't the only mode of transport we have," Professor McGonagall commented, her face looking more rigid than before.

"Please Mrs. McGonagall, tell me. These means of transport are better than that bus, right?" my dad asked in a desperate tone of voice that still held a little hope.

"Well... that depends..." was Professor McGonagall's evasive answer, and I could see how my dad's face lost all color when he heard the answer.

"Don't look like that dear, look on the bright side. It is very likely that we will never need to use these means of transport again!" my mom said in an attempt to cheer my dad up, which apparently worked as his face started to come alive again.

"Yes honey, that's true. The only person who will still suffer from these deadly methods of traveling is Ethan, so that's okay!" my dad said, his face reflecting an expression of pure happiness and relief, and then he looked at me mockingly.

'How miserable! Throwing your son in the grave like that, and he still has the guts to make fun of me... Hohoho, this will come back. Get ready, old man, you'll get my revenge!' I thought as I looked vengefully at my father.

*Chill* 'Why did I feel like I'am on the way to suffering a calamity?' my dad thought after feeling a chill in his back and then started looking around, 'Hmm, it must just be my imagination'

"Well, since you all look better then we better get going. The entrance to the wizarding world is right there" said Professor McGonagall, pointing to an old and shabby pub.

"Is that the entrance to your community?" my dad asked doubtfully, looking strangely at the crumbling old shop Professor McGonagall was pointing to.

"Appearances can be deceiving, Mr. Night" Professor McGonagall replied enigmatically, "Since you're Muggles you're seeing a rundown shop, but this is a camouflage" she then started to head towards the pub, and upon seeing this my parents and I we started to follow her.

"Look teacher, if I happen to get mugged or killed while followed you to this peculiarly dirty and decrepit place, I swear I'll sue you" I said jokingly as I followed her calmly, because I doubted anyone would be able to sneak up and get close to me without me realizing it.

"Isn't this a bit like those horror movies?" my dad questioned, looking at what he thought was a store.

"If it's like a horror movie, know that it's always the man who dies first," my mom replied nonchalantly.

"Damn it!"

All the way to the pub Professor McGonagall smiled seeing our jokes.

"Well here we're, this is Leaky Cauldron, a magical pub where the entrance to Diagon Alley is," Professor McGonagall said as she opened the door to the establishment, letting us into the pub.

Once inside the pub we could see that it was an old but cozy place, and we could also see that all over the bar there were people wearing weird clothes, ranging from clothes that were worn tens and even hundreds of years ago to more quirky clothes, like the outfit of a woman who was sitting in the corner to the right. The woman was wearing a zebra coat with a fish-shaped hat...strange people.

"People here are certainly... quirky?" my dad half stated half asked after taking a look around.

"But it could be worse," I said without thinking.

"Yes, and how?" my dad questioned me with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't know…" I shrugged.

'Maybe some dancers in that corner, some gaming machines in the other... and a ventriloquist giving a performance... hmm'

"How come normal people aren't surprised to see these people dressed like that?" my mom asked after noticing how everyone still acted normally even with all these…oddities.

"That's because, Mrs. Night, in addition to having a cloaking spell the Leaky Cauldron also has a Muggle repellent barrier, and it was only possible for you to get in here because you were accompanied by a wizard" Professor McGonagall explained to my mother.

As we walked deeper into the pub a man caught Professor McGonagall's attention.

"Ah! Professor McGonagall, I see you're bringing one more family to the Alley, and this must be our newest little wizard, alright," the man said, smiling at all of us.

"Yes, Tom. These are Mr. and Mrs. Night, along with their children Celestia and Ethan Night. And Ethan is going to be a new student at Hogwarts this semester" Professor McGonagall told for who I assume to be Tom, the bartender and owner of Leaky Cauldron, "But we can't stay to talk, I still have to take them shopping for materials" she continued as she ended the conversation with Tom.

"Oh yes of course. Pass on Professor McGonagall, the barrier is clear, have a great shopping day and welcome to the wizarding community" Tom told us, pointing to a corner of the pub and also welcoming us, which we thank.

So Professor McGonagall led us to the front of a closed wall, turned to us and said, "Listen, this is the necessary sequence you're going to have to do with your wand in order to get into the Alley," so she makes a sequence of hitting the wall with his wand.

'Why the fuck do you have to have a code to enter? It's not like someone who comes here doesn't already know how to get in anyway. It's basically a useless password if everyone already knows and those who don't, just need to ask to know' I thought as I wondered what was on the wizards' minds to do something so meaningless.

After Professor McGonagall finished doing the sequel we saw how the wall started to magically disappear right in front of us.

After the entrance finished opening Professor McGonagall turned to us and said...

"Welcome to Diagon Alley!"

End.
