POV - Third Person
The day after all the children have gone home for Christmas with their families, the entire Hogwarts team and the Headmaster meet in the Headmaster's office for the annual meeting, where they talk about the students, about order in the school, about the important events that happened at the school, about news they considered important, about the subjects, and about everyday life.
In the Headmaster's office, which looks small at first glance, were the teachers, the matron, the caretaker, the gamekeeper, and even some of the ghosts.
It might seem impressive to fit all these people into one room, especially in a room that's littered with trinkets, but nothing that some expansion spells didn't solve.
"I'm glad you're all here" Headmaster Dumbledore said with his grandfatherly smile, which unconsciously caused smiles to cross the faces of several other staff members, "And now that we're all settled, let's begin our annual meeting of the year of 91/92... Who would like to start?"
"If you don't mind, I'd like to go first" Professor McGonagall said, and after getting a few nods from the others in the office she started to speak.
As she talked about basic school stuff, the other staff members paid her full attention, all but the Headmaster, who paid little attention to what was said at the meeting as his mind was elsewhere.
The Headmaster was thinking about the problems hanging over his head, also known as the Philosopher's Stone being guarded by him at the request of his friend and mentor Nicolas Flamel, and the problems brought on by a certain Potter boy.
When he received a letter from his former study partner and mentor, he didn't think he was going to ask him to protect the Philosopher's Stone, his most precious possession.
And he also didn't think they were going to try to steal this item shortly after he'd put it in a vault in Gringotts.
And if that wasn't enough of a problem, he still had to prepare for the arrival of Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived and Dark Lord's defeater, into the wizarding world.
'And I thought I'd have some rest with my century old' the Headmaster sighed mentally.

With conversation going and conversation coming back, the meeting reached the part that most interested both the Headmaster and some teachers. The students.
As it would take a long time to talk about all the students in the school, it was decided that it would be better to talk about those who attracted the most attention this year, be it good or bad attention.
The teachers then started from the seventh year, planning to leave the first years for the end, mainly because the first years of this year were the most interesting.

"And Miss Bell is being a bit aggressive with some students, specifically the Slytherins" Professor McGonagall said, getting a sneer from Professor Snape as soon as the Slytherins were mentioned.
"This aggressiveness isn't good, but I wouldn't say it's unwarranted either, as I've seen a lot of Slytherin boys being… bullies around her," Professor Flitwick said, resisting the urge to say the Slytherins were being Slytherin, "And as someone who has made it clear many times that she doesn't let herself be intimidated, Miss Bell responded, only in a more violent way," he finished with a shrug.
"This is a slander against my house," Professor Snape said grimly.
"But that's what I saw" Professor Flitwick said, "Do you think I would lie about something like that?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, which only increased Professor Snape's frown, who turned away with a huff.
"I already suspected Miss Bell would be a troublemaker the moment I saw her flying a broom with her friends" Madame Hooch said with an amused snort, remembering how Katie had nearly broken two brooms and a window In her first flying lesson.
"I think I'll have to talk to Miss Bell again" Professor McGonagall sighed, "I swear she started acting like that when she started hanging out with the Weasley twins" she said rubbing her temples.
"Well, since the second year is over, let's now talk about the first years then" Headmaster Dumbledore said, leaning his elbows on the table and folding his hands in front of his face.
He then looked at each of the people in the room with analytical eyes, but not without a calm smile on his face.
"Who would like to have the first word? Pomona?"
"Huh? Me?" the chubby teacher said, pointing to herself, "Hmm, well... At least in my class there aren't any students that I can say are having difficulties or making some mess... Well, there's Mr. Smith who complains about getting your clothes dirty, but that was just the beginning," she said.
"And are there any students who have caught your attention in a positive way or who are doing well in your classes?" the Headmaster asked.
"Hmm, there are some students who are very good in my subject, like Mr. Longbottom who is the most talented of the first years, even though he's a little shy, the Mr. Night who seems to have a lot of fun with the magic plants and catches them all the spells I pass at first, the Miss Bones who seems to have extensive knowledge about plants, even though she doesn't like the practical part very much, and the Miss Bulstrode, who is Miss Bones's reverse," Professor Sprout replied after thinking a bit, and you could see a glint in her eyes when she talked about her students and her classes.
"It seems that this year we have good students in every house" the Headmaster mused. He then looked at Professor Snape.
"Hmph, there aren't any talented students in my class other than a few students like Mr. Malfoy, Miss Greengrass, and Mr. Zabini" Professor Snape said, "The rest are at best a step above being mediocre, with Potter and the Longbottom boy being worse than mediocre... In fact, they shouldn't even be allowed near a cauldron. Longbottom is a wreck with legs, and Potter inherited his father's impertinence and arrogance, and..."
Professor Snape continued mumbling for a long time, and as soon as he finished speaking he ended up getting a few glares from the other professors in the room, who obviously noticed that he only spoke well of Slytherins and that he still hasn't gotten over his grudge against James Potter. And noticing those looks, Professor Snape only snorted in contempt.
"Well I'm glad you have good students in your class" the Headmaster said, not noticing or pretending not to notice Snape's favoritism, with everyone in the room leaning towards the latter.
"Well, in my first year class I have some good flyers" Madame Hooch said.
"Good flyers? I think that's an understatement," Professor Sprout joked.
"Really Rolanda?" Professor McGonagall asked with a small smile on her face, which looked amused and proud.
"Well, this year I got two students who are... A little more talented than expected," she said, with an amused smile.
"Oh, you're talking about Sirs Potter and Night, right?" Septima Vector, a woman with a slim figure and a gentle, approachable appearance who is also the Arithmancy teacher, asked.
It was no surprise that these two names were known by the other professors, especially the first. One of them is the savior of the wizarding world, and the other while not someone well known in the British and world wizarding community, he was still well known at Hogwarts for his feats, with killing a troll being one of them.
"Uhum" Madam Hooch nodded, ignoring Professor Snape's growl as soon as Potter was mentioned.
"I still find it impressive that these two got a spot on their house Quidditch teams," Professor Sinistra said.
"Impressive and reckless" Matron Poppy grumbled.
End.

(End AN: Hello my dear readers!
The fanfic gods decided that I should suffer a little, and as punishment they corrupted the files with the next chapters of my story, and because of that I'm having a hard time editing or revising the chapters, and this is delaying my posts.
The only good thing is that the corrupted file is only the first year (Book One) file, so I don't have to worry about the second year chapters, which is less work and stress for me.
For now I'll leave you with this chapter, remembering that I may be posting some chapters late on Patreon, which will also delay the posting of chapters here, sorry.
Hope you like the chapter!)
