While over visiting the Station, Ben had learnt Floyd was the spy sent by the Krylo Order, specifically sent out by Jardvic when asked by Jaad for an informant that could tell them about Bens plans.
When Ben first heard about Floyd's betrayal, he found it hard to believe his Master Albn and Jardvic.
There was even some evidence that Jaad handed over to Ben for him to understand the information Floyd had passed over to the Krylo Order.
Because Floyd was a member of the Krylo Order, Ben nor anyone else like Alfred or Kage could do him harm, so leaving him to look after the slave workers became Floyds only task.
