Chapter 25 - 25

AN: It's time for the academy. Homura is only doing it because his mom wants him to make friends.

The days went by, and finally, the first day of the ninja academy was upon Homura. It was decided, by Homura, that he would go for the first couple of days, then for the rest of the year, he would send a shadow clone in his place. After all, he doesn't need to go through a Kindergarten education again...

So Homura woke up, much to the begging of his mom, and got ready. She cooked him some fried eggs. Homura hurridly ate, and ran out the door.

He didn't want to admit it, but he was kind of excited to go back to school. To meet all the characters of Naruto was kind of exhilarating.

Homura walked over to Naruto's apartment to pick him up. "Get up Naruto!" Homura said, while banging on the door. "It's time for school!"

He heard some rustling behind the door. "Yeah, Yeah, I'm coming." Naruto said, while opening up the door, with a piece of bread in his mouth.

"You eat non toasted bread for breakfast?" Homura said, while laughing.

Naruto said, innocently, "Doesn't every one do that?"

"No. You have to put it in a toaster till it gets brown. That's how you eat it."

"What's a toaster?"

"Sigh.."

Homura answered Naruto's dumb questions all the way to the school. When they got there, there were 3 teachers organizing the kids.

"Naruto, did you register?" Homura said, quite worried.

Naruto said with a smile, "Nah, old man Hokage took care of it."

"That's good."

Suddenly, a loud voice was heard. "Every one, get in line. We will call out your name and what class your assigned to."

After about 134 names, Homura's name was called. "Homura Nakamura, Class one." Eventually, Naruto's name was called. "Naruto Uzumaki, Class one."

They both were told to go to the cafeteria, where their teacher would pick them up.

As they were walking, Homura questioned, "What do you think class one will be like?"

Naruto just shrugged his shoulders and said, "As long as we get a good teacher, then I'm all good."

"I have a good feeling we will." Homura said, while walking into the cafeteria. They were one of the last ones to show up, as class room 1's seats were almost filled.

The hurridly sat down in their seats. Homura sat next to some unknown filler character, and Naruto sat next to Shikimaru, who looked bored out of him mind.

Homura, not wanting to be akward, started talking to the filler character. "My name's Homura. What's yours?" Homura said, with a forced smile.

"Chiyo." She said quietly.

Homura didn't really know what to say at this point, so he stopped talking. He felt extremely akward talking to someone quiet. It's like talking to brick wall.

Suddenly, he thought of a question. "So did you want to become a ninja? Or did your parents force you to come?"

"Uhhh, I wanted to become a ninja."

"Why's that?" Homura questioned.

"Because it sounds cool." She said, naively.

They kept akwardly talking for 10 minutes. Finally, the teachers walked through the door, along with the 3rd Hokage himself.

"Ahem. Settle down. Please give your attention to the person standing in front of us. "

The Hokage was standing there, looking at the kids. After doing that for a split second. he said, "As the 3rd Hokage, it is my duty to insure the next generation of ninjas to be people of courage and pride. That's why, I personally welcome you to the Ninja acedemy. Here, you will learn what it means to be a ninja. Don't expect it to be easy, but expect that you should be willing to work hard."

He continued, "This year, we are switching up the graduation requirements. Not only will it be a lot harder, it will be mentally challenging as well. But if you manage to overcome this, then I guarantee you will become competent ninjas. Thank you for your time. Hopefully I can come around and visit some time."

Applause then ensued. After the applause died down, the principal started taking. "My name is Saeki Ko. I am the principal of this academy, and in charge of discipline. I hope to never see any of you at my desk, but if that so happens, I will try to be as lenient as possible. I am also in charge of the curriculum you will learn. We are moving on from the old system. Instead, you will all be learning advanced tactics, advanced chakra control, advanced academic topics, and advanced jutsu. I estimate, that this will let us graduate more than 27 ninjas at a time."

He continued, "Anyways, I hope y'all have a great year. Please follow your teacher to your class room. Y'all will start learning immediately."

A man walked walked up to class 1's table. He had a pony tail, and had a long, Horizontal scratch going through his nose. "Let me introduce my self. My name is Iruka Umino. I will be y'all's Homeroom teacher, along with your academic teacher as well. I will explain in detail when we get to our class. Let's go."

Everyone got up and walked with Iruka. He talked on the way. "The academy was built for the purpose of cultivating young children to become ninjas. But, as of recent years, we have shifted to focus to learning as well. After all, we want every single one of you to become part of the working force once y'all are done becoming ninjas."

"The pay for a ninja is a salary based on years of experience and rank. But you can also take missions. It is quite competitive to get a mission, and it is also extremely dangerous. It can be anywhere from solo missions, to missions where you are in a 30 man platoon."

"We have roughly 3000 active duty ninja, and 10,000 reserve ninjas. To become active duty depends on your luck and skill."

They arrived at their class room, 1-A. "Please take a seat while I take role." Homura and Naruto sat next to each other.

After taking roll, he started his lesson. Today, y'all will be learning math and language. We will start with math."

After a 2 hour lesson from Iruka, a new teacher walked in. "Hello, my name is Shimoda Chiasa. I am your ninja theory and application instructor." He handed out a work sheet packet. "We will be doing one of these a day. I will go through it with y'all. Hopefully y'all can keep up."

After going through 3 more classes and lunch, the school day finally ended. "What do you think of it?" Naruto asked.

"It's alright. It's just a little boring."

"I agree. Do you want to walk home together?"

"Sure," Homura said.

AN: Fun chapter to write today. I am putting my own ideas into the acedemy, along with how the military is run. It will make much more sense than the Hokage taking care of everything.
