'So how does my chakra keep the black hole in my eye from affecting me? Or is it something else entirely?'
Ding: It's almost as if you've fused with the black hole. I'm not sure. This will take some time for me to figure out.
'Will the chakra consumption be too high when I use this?'
Ding: Unknown, you'll have to do more experimenting. You should write down your experiments on a piece of paper, and make sure your mom doesn't find it.
'I don't think she would take it that seriously.'
Ding: It's just a precaution...
'How do I turn it off, by the way?'
Ding: Just remove the chakra from your eyes. It's not that hard.'
'Ok. Thanks.'
Homura then proceeded to set up Experiment #1. He asked his mom for a journal and a pen to write with. She happily obliged.
———————————————————————
Homura wrote on page one:
Goal: Figure out how the Kokugan works
Step 1: Figure out its powers.
Step 2: Figure out its weaknesses.
Step 3: Do extensive experiments to find its limitations.
Homura then flipped the page.
Experiment #1: The use of the kokugan on a ball point pen.
Hypothesis: It will slow down the pen. Need to figure out the extent of it slowing down.
Control group: Dropping a pen 1 meter in the air.
Experimental group: Dropping a pen 1 meter in the air but using the Kokugan.
Homura thought, 'System, could you time the moment the pen starts falling to when it hits the ground.'
Homura did the control group.
Control A: 1.12 seconds
Control B: 1.08 seconds
Control C: 1.11 seconds
Average: 1.10 seconds
Homura then did the experimental group. He used his Kokugan this time.
Pen D: 3.67 seconds
Pen E: 3.12 seconds
Pen F: 2.9 seconds
Average: 3.23
Claim: The use of the Kokugan does indeed slow down time. However, there are still unknowns. 1: Why did the time get faster for each use of the Kokugan? 2: Is time normal outside for other objects when using the Kokugan? 3: How does the Kokugan react when used on a bigger object?
Ding: Good job on the first experiment. And I agree with your claim. We just need to do more research.
'Why are you so interested in me all of a sudden?'
Ding: For one, you matured. And secondly: This is a very fascinating subject.
'Huh. What should we experiment now...'
1 month later
'Hmm it would seem that the more chakra I put into it, the higher the time dilation. But there is a limit. It only goes up to 1 second per 0.15 seconds. (1 second is is the users perception versus the actual time that elapsed.)
Homura did over 60 experiments on the Kokugan. He found out that it runs off a steady stream of chakra, for reasons unknown. Also, with steady practice, he could get similar results each time he used the Kokugan. He also found that it affects everything around him, not just the object that he's focusing on. He doesn't know the range just yet.
Another thing he found was that it could see the chakra in people, similar to the Sharingan.
Ding: You got your self a pretty OP power. Don't let this go to waste now.
'Yeah, Yeah I know. I'm not going to squander this.'
'Should I tell my mom about it?'
Ding: Not yet. And there is one major flaw with your power- that it consumes a lot of chakra. So from now one we are going to increase the intensity of your chakra training.
'So less physical work?' Homura asked excitedly, as he did not particularly like working out.
Ding: Nope, we are just increasing your chakra training. Trust me, by the time you start to do jutsus, you will be so suprised by how powerful you are.
'How powerful am I right now?'
Ding: Without your kokugan, you would be a very strong academy student, and if you add jutsus into the mix, you could probably beat an average genin. But with your Kokugan, you could easily demolish a Genin, but would get crushed by a chunin up solely based on their speed.
Ding: Your goal when the academy starts, is to be as powerful as a chunin.
