295 AC, four years before the war of the five kings start to kick off. The Empire which had been founded for two years now and a couple of months had become a powerhouse in the world.
A New Imperial Palace was built in Qohor as it was now the Capital of the Empire. The Old Capital Lorath was left in good hands as a Governor was selected to rule it.
King Robert and Maximus did not see eye to eye with each other, and it was known by most people in Westeros. But even that didn't stop the other Kingdoms from making secret deals with the Empire, like trading of resources.
On the Continent of Westeros, the Tyrell's had an abundance of food and most of the other regions buy food from the Tyrell's giving them a lot of influence over the other regions. But there was another place that had an even more abundance of food, and that was the Empire in Essos.
Many of the regions such as the Vale, The Westerlands, and The North had made deals with the Empire for food. Maximus had traded them food for a low price, since already the stability in Westeros was beginning to decrease slowly.
Jaime was angry at Maximus for what he said to his sister and has hoped that he gets the chance to fight him so that he can kill him. Jaime being one of the best if not the best swordsman in Westeros believed that he could beat Maximus in a duel.
But Maximus besides being busy with managing an Empire trains every day with his sword and has the skills from the system so the chance of Jamie defeating him is low and if he gets more skills from the system the chance will get even lower.
Oberyn Martell had visited the free cities in his younger years, fighting in Mercenary companies such as the second sons. And learning many poisons and perhaps even Dark arts. He has recently visited Essos to see Daenerys Targaryen, as since her brother has died, she is the last remaining Known Targaryen in the world.
Oberyn and his brother hopes to reforge a secret pack with Daenerys so that when she comes to Westeros to reclaim her throne, they will rise up to overthrow Robert Baratheon. But they don't know where she is, but they have a clue as to where she is since if her Brother Viserys was killed by the Emperor than the Emperor must know where Daenerys is.
As Oberyn travelled, the cities of the Empire, he was marveled at how they have changed since the last time he came to Essos. The cities are much better looking and the overall mood of the people were good considering they were conquered 2 years ago.
Once Oberyn had reached Qohor the Imperial capital he had walked directly to the palace which was a massive building near the center of the city that was even more grand than the city itself.
Oberyn had walked up to the palace entrance, where he was stopped by some guards, who asked him what did he want. Oberyn told them that he wanted to speak with the Emperor, but they refused since Oberyn wasn't the only one who wanted to see the Emperor lots of people did every day, but the Emperor was busy and didn't have time to meet with everybody.
Oberyn had told them that he came to meet Daenerys Targaryen. This had caused them to go and inform Aleanna since they were present at the death of Viserys Targaryen and knew Daenerys since she was seen with the Emperor.
Aleanna had informed Maximus, who had let Oberyn in since he had a feeling of why Oberyn was here, and it was about the secret betrothal of Viserys and Arianne that was no longer valid since Viserys was dead.
As Oberyn had followed the Guards to a room, he was looking at the armor that they were wearing which was a generic Roman legionary armor, and he also had seen some Elven Spearman but since they had their helmets on he couldn't see their pointy ears, so he assumed them to be normal humans.
Oberyn was brought to a room, where he was told that the Emperor would see him soon. While waiting, he brought out some food, which he found to so good that he couldn't stop stuffing his face with it.
A couple of minutes after he was brought his food, Somebody had entered the room followed by some guards. The Guards had entered and stood around the room, while Maximus sat down in a chair at the table facing Oberyn.
"I Assume you're the Emperor" Asked Oberyn
"You are correct, My name is Maximus Aurelius and you are Oberyn Martell" Said Maximus
Oberyn was a little surprised that the Emperor knew who he was, but that surprise quickly faded as he remembered his objective for coming here "Well since you know my name let me tell you why I am here" Said Oberyn
"I came here because a little over 10 years ago, a pact was made with a man named Willem Darry betrothing Viserys Targaryen to Arianne Martell and forging an alliance with Martell and the Exiled Targaryens so that we can aid them when they try to claim the iron Throne. But Viserys was killed by you, making our alliance not valid, and now the only remaining Targaryen alive with a claim to the Iron Throne is his sister Daenerys whom we hope you know where she is" Oberyn had explained his situation to the Emperor since he knows that he and Robert don't like each other, so he won't reveal their plans to Robert, but he left out some things like wanting to end House Lannister
"I do know where Daenerys is, but before I tell you why would, you tell me a foreign ruler all of this risking your plan being exposed to Robert" Said Maximus
"Well for one we know you don't like Robert so you exposing a plan to overthrow him is unlikely and why would you just give us Daenerys without proper reason" Said Oberyn
"I see well, then Daenerys is here in the Palace currently training, so she is occupied right now, and I'm sure she would not want to leave with a stranger to marry someone she doesn't know" said Maximus
"Well it won't hurt to ask her so why not let her decided" said Oberyn
Maximus thought for a little before looking back at Oberyn and shaking his head, "No I don't think so, plus Daenerys will reclaim her throne soon enough and doesn't need to marry someone in order to do it" Although Maximus said that Daenerys would indeed marry someone but not for the reason of retaking her throne
"So I assume that you're going to help her retake her throne" Asked Oberyn
"You could say that" Said Maximus
Oberyn could see that their plan to get Daenerys didn't work, but after talking with the Emperor, he has discovered a new plan that will get revenge for the rape and murder Ellia Martell and overthrow Robert and defeat House Lannisters, and it all involved the Empire. Oberyn returned to Sunspear to talk with his brother about this new plan.
