The tigers and the elephants were at each other's throats over what to do. The tigers of course wanted to use an army and start reconquering Essos while the elephants did not want to waste money on a war and instead wanted to keep the peace so that they can keep getting money instead of losing some on some war that they might or might not win.
If history proves anything, then tigers are at a disadvantage since what happened previously when they tried to conquer Essos. But still, the tigers also had lots of support, since some of the more influential families in Volantis were aware of the weak state of the Free cities located in the North.
And taking them would be not be that difficult since there was not a large army that was defending the other free cities. The only thing that they need to worry about it Lys, Myr and Tyrosh joining together to defeat them in their conquest.
In the end, the elephants were against the idea of expanding the borders once again, which sparked some conflict to occur between the elephants and the tigers. After some weeks, some members from each political party ended up dead, which caused each party to blame each other, increasing the diversity of the Volantis government.
While this was going on, back in Qohor Greg had a small portion of the army go and reclaim the destroyed city of Ar Noy which was destroyed during the Rhoynish Wars. He would then turn it into a military outpost and use it as a military resupply point for his armies.
It will also be a defensive base for defending against enemy attacks. While retaking the city, there was a pirate hideout that located along the river, but it was quickly taken out and all the stolen goods that they had were taken by the army.
Soon after establishing patrols and setting up a camp, a construction team was sent to the city to repair it into a fortress. A new and stronger wall would be built around it and the buildings would be changed into barracks to house thousands of troops. Storage houses would also be built to store large amounts of equipment and food and any other necessary supplies.
After taking Ar Noy Greg had accepted his rewards for defeating the Dothraki army.
[Successfully defeat the Dothraki army]
Reward: 5k Greek Hoplites
10k System points
Greg now had a total of 37k system points, which he would only use for emergency purposes, like if he needed some more soldiers to fight, or he needed to summon something from the system.
The 5k Greek Hoplites he had them stationed with the soldiers in Ar Noy since he would take them with him once he marches on Braavos.
Greg was looking over the soldiers that were lined up in front of the city as they began March
"This should be enough soldiers to begin taking the remaining cities on this side of Essos" Said Greg. "Normally it would be hard with only 45k soldiers, but with major armies already defeated this should be easy"
"I think we should still hire some mercenaries since they will help with any even that will happen such as another Free city attacking us with their army" Said Aleanna
Greg thought about it for a minute, since before he didn't want to hire mercenaries, but now they would be helpful. "Okay send out messenger's that we are hiring mercenaries and make the payment 3x more than what it normally would be, that should get a lot of mercenaries to join us" Said Greg.
With the increases amount of payment, Greg was sure that lots of mercenary companies will jump to join him.
Greg knew also knew that sooner or later he will have to hire some mercenaries, since the majority of wars on both Essos and Westeros are fought by hired sell swords or mercenaries.
After sending out the messengers in no less than two weeks, many mercenaries have come to Qohor seeking employment with Greg. The Stormcrows with 500 mounted soldiers came along with the Golden company, which is one of the largest Mercenary companies in Essos as they have 20k soldiers.
In front of Qohor Thousands of soldiers belong to mercenaries were waiting in front of Qohor while their leaders go and negotiate a deal with Greg on their payment.
The total amount of soldiers that came to Qohor was 30k Mercenaries.
