Ok so thanks to my speech, Claude and Thanos agreed to talk. Finally! What would they have done without me?
There was tea and snacks in front of us. As we used to have before Thanos's mom entered the scene.
Life has been depressing and boring since then. No more of happiness in life.
I sighed internally.
"I-"
Thanos opened his mouth. Seems like he wants to say something. I gripped my tea cup and put it on my lips. I was nervous.
"How did my mother die?" He asked...
I choked on my tea and was coughing all along.
"*cough* *cough* this is the first thing you ask after being on no talk terms with your dad for so long? *Cough* *cough*"
Geez... At this point my sanity had left the chat It was getting irritating to the point I had stated to voice my thoughts out. Jesus!
"*Sigh* calm down Athanasia. Don't interfere now." Oh! This would be the first time he would have called me Athanasia. He always called me Princess. I think this is really serious.
I hence sipped on my tea peacefully and didn't say another word.
"Fathe-" Thanos started "I mean... Emperor?" Seems like he really wanted to call Claude father but after knowing that story that day ig he kind of is hesitating it. Or that he doesn't even want to at this point. Well, if I was in his place, I would have done the same thing but atleast being an adult, I would have thought every possibility through. Nothing much can be expected from him though since he is a child who just gotta know that his mother and father had an affair and his mom cheated on his dad with Claude, his uncle who then killed the both of them.
Even I thought so by the story which Claude told me but that's no where near the truth. It was just delusions of the transmigrator which led to what happened and the proof of it is... Thanos. If she would have been a bit sensible, this would not have happened... At all...
Sometimes I wonder what my purpose is when I got transmigrated here? Or am I here too, just like the transmigrator who came earlier to mess up the whole plot? Or am I here to fix the thing which she did?
And why me? There are so many people in the world for the same. I didn't even want this...
I was brought back to reality when Claude startes speaking.
"Thanos. Firstly your mother was not killed by me. Back then, when I reflected on the conversation I had with Athanasia, I noticed that my wording would have made it sound like I was the one who killed your mother. But that's not true she took her own life."
Da fuq-
"That day I just entered her room without announcing. And saw her kissing my brother. That was the moment I understood that you were not my son. But my brother's..."
Wait... So he knew that all along. But one thing to be thought of... Anasthacius was shown to be dead in lovely princess. How is he alive in here?
"I thought that bastard was dead" don't cuss in front of a 5 and 8 year old. "But turns out he was not, surprisingly. Your mother was going to be dead anyways for cheating on me saying that you were my child. I was very angry but something about her that day was off. She had tears in her eyes and was still smiling. She suddenly then started laughing. It seemed like she had lost her mental balance. She became hysteric and kept blabbering something in a language which I didn't understand but while going she said something along the lines of "I was never the female lead but just a tool for her. If I would have known this earlier I would not have ended up in this way." She then kept laughing and crying simultaneously as she broke all the cases in the room and tore of the sheets of the bed and tore of the curtains Anasthacius tried to stop her but she scratched his face and shoved him away. I decided not to interfere. But soon when she was exhausted by that she, while loosing balance went towards the window. I got a hint of what she was going to do. She yelled "don't come!" I thought of using magic at first but before that, it came to my notice that Anasthacius had already held her hand and his one leg was already on the window sill. He was pulling her down to his side. "If you won't let me die, I will make sure you die too." I was in shock the spell I was casting, was a bit late in Saving those two and they...*sigh*"
"And they?" Thanos asked.
"With all the remaining strength that she had, Riya pulled Anasthacius over to her side while jumping out of the window and eventually taking her own life and committing suicide. When I went towards the window, I saw your mother on the flowerbed. Just the white flowers there had turned red due to her blood. Before Falling off the window she said something along these lines which I still don't understand, "this is for the real female lead". It's funny how I remember that wench so vividly even though it had been 8 years since that incidence"
He said with a smirk. His face, remembering that incident, became colder and felt like he was in utter displeasure thinking of it again.
"Then what about father?"
"No idea. We tried finding the body nearby but it was never found"
"So you mean..."
"Yes. He is alive and somewhere waiting to strike."
Claude's face changed again but rather than a sad smirk looking down at someone, this time, it was more of a smile accepting a challenge from someone and being excited for it.
Idk why but something about this smile just gave me chills. Oh god! I pray to you to not make things anymore complicated than they already are... Please lord mercy!
