Chapter 1 - The beginning

When I was baby I knew nothing of who I was or what I could do when it came to the gift bestowed upon me. As a baby the gift was dormant inside me waiting for me to be the right age for it to be active. I was the girl of legend, The Nile Princess.

Before I could walk or write my grandfather worked on old traditions same as he had done with my mother. He arranged my marriage after knowing who I was going to be in this world. I was going to be special and my family knew that already.

Growing up I was 2nd born in a group of four children and being eldest girl in the group more responsibility than the other two. As we grew up things were strict. We weren't supposed to go outside or have anything to do with the outside world of those who were non royal. My parents didn't like this so they took me and my siblings somewhere my grandfather couldn't get to us.

"Mirza is this wise?" Mother asked father

"If we don't do this, he'll control our children Azeneth. They need to figure out who they are on their own not be under his control in their younger years." Father said to mother

"I know.." Mother said

Bre and I didn't understand what was going on and why it was so important to get away. When we arrived at the place that was going to be our new home we noticed it was a horse ranch.Father got us in and he settled us into our rooms like he knew everything about this place.

"If anyone asks you are Britt and Bre, you never give your last name." Father said

"Yes father." My sister and I said ew

"Amelia will stay in here until she's older." Father said

"Yes Father." We said

Time on the ranch was nice we didn't have to be all proper and lady like but we had to help out. We were around six when dad let us help us around the place and only with the simple things like feeding the animals. Father took care of all the hard work and nothing else. One day when Bre and I were going around feeding the animals Bre and I noticed how much we looked like as twins but our rare differences.

"You have these blue stands in your hair." Bre said
"You have red in yours." I said

"Yes but we have brown hair and blue eyes. Maybe that's why dad doesn't want us out here long." Bre said

"Maybe." I said

We went about like usual going along with the idea that we were to not be out long. Only today was different as mom gave us cloaks to wear and we only could figure that it had to do with our eye color being blue. I shrugged a bit knowing it was for the best.

"Girls, today we're going to have you do something different." Mother said

"What is it?" I asked

"Some of my friends across the way are needing some eggs. Take these and be careful." Mother said

Bre and I carefully took it knowing this was the biggest thing for us to do. We carefully walked out and took the eggs to the friend. It was a bit of ways but we were able to figure out where to go and knocked on the door.

"Oh you sweet girls, thank you." The lady said

I took in the fact this lady was a bit older than mom and she seemed a bit sickly. I sort of felt bad like someone should be able to help the people here but how was I going to do that? I was just a kid and that's when I decided when I was older I was going to help out the people in need.

Handing her the eggs she took them and we smiled before leaving her alone. Bre and I decided to race home to see who could make it home first in the sand. Everything was going great but I felt like we were being watched and as I looked back I noticed a cloaked figure watching us.

Who is that? I thought

I tripped in seeing it and for a few minutes I silently cried tears. My tears landed on my bruised up knee as Bre approached. I wasn't paying attention at the time but Bre was when a glow came over my knee and suddenly I felt the pain go away. I wiped my eyes and Bre helped me up to my feet.

"How did you do that?" I asked

"Do what?" I asked

"You healed it with your tears…" Bre said

"I did not." I said

We walked and talked about it for awhile like I was going to admit to it. Truth be told I had no idea that my inner power as Nile Princess was activating. We knew these good days on the ranch were only going to be so long. We knew someday we'd get dragged back to the palace where we originally were from.

"How long do you think we have?" Bre asked

"As long as father and mother can keep us here." I said

"Hopefully it's longer than what I'm thinking." Bre said

"How long do you think?" I asked

"Like another year or two." Bre said

I knew that it sounded like something grandfather may try but I knew mother and father had their reasons. We just had to figure out how long and enjoy each day as it came. Still I had a goal in mind and I didn't care if we were royalty I wanted to help people.

"So what will you do if we never have to go back?" Bre asked

"Help the sick and wounded." I said

Bre gasped at my words "You are going to do that which no female has tried."
"I feel like I might be able to do it someday." I said
