Chapter 7 - Lightning Qi?!

After Liu Tiansheng had found out that Qing Shan's Qi was split evenly between his body, He went to meditate on this discovery, letting Qing Shan continue to circulate his Qi. However, he made it explicitly clear that Qing Shan was not yet allowed to attempt to attract any external Qi.

With this instruction in mind, Qing Shan began to circulate his Qi as he relaxed his body, only focusing on moving the unfamiliar energy in his body.

Now, one should know that Qing Shan could not actually see into his body like Liu Tiansheng. No, he could only vaguely sense that there was a substance in his body and that he was able to move it around.

Like this, Qing Shan had no problem falling into a rhythm of Qi circulation, eating the food provided by his master, and sleep. At first, this was unfamiliar to Qing Shan, as the Primal Water had made it so he did not need external sustenance or sleep for the past year, but he quickly became used to this. However, no matter what he was doing, as long as he was conscious, Qing Shan had his mind on cultivation.

Another week passed and Liu Tiansheng came to check on his disciple who was currently cultivating. Seeing that Qing Shan seemed to be fine, and his Qi circulation was still the same as the first time, albeit faster, he walked away from his disciple, letting him cultivate. However, he moved Qing Shan back into the world inside of Liu Tiansheng's statue and placed him in the Primal Water, so as to allow Qing Shan to continue cultivating.

Qing Shan kept circulating his Qi for a long amount of time, and soon started to wonder why he was not hungry or tired. He opened his eyes, seeing the familiar landscape in front of him and immediately understood. Then he went back to circulating his Qi.

After an unknown amount of time passed, Qing Shan felt a subtle change in his Qi. The Circulation through the Meridians that were separate from the center line of his body started to cause Qing Shan pain. This pain was not even erased by the presence of the Primal Water, which could only heal bodily injuries. However Qing Shan, who thought that this was most likely normal, continued to cultivate. Actually, this change did not cause Qing Shan any trouble at all, as he was very used to pain after his year of tempering his body.

The next time that Qing Shan opened his eyes was because the familiar feeling of hunger came over him. He found himself back in his master's cave. Unfortunately, Qing Shan could not see any food around him.

"Master Liu, can you please give your disciple some food and drink?"

Liu Tiansheng appeared holding food for Qing Shan.

"I will let you eat after you show me your Qi circulation."

Somewhat annoyed, Qing Shan began to circulate his Qi while Liu Tiansheng watched. Because he was focusing on cultivating, he did not notice a look of surprise on Liu Tiansheng's face.

"Boy, do you feel pain in your body when you cultivate, especially near your Second, Third, and Fifth Meridians?"

Qing Shan was confused by this question. His master had actually thought he was in pain in the three meridians where he felt no pain! When Qing Shan told his master this, Liu Tiansheng appeared to be especially surprised.

In fact, Liu Tiansheng was not just surprised, he was just trying to control the emotions on his face so as to not scare his disciple too badly. The reason for this was because Qing Shan's few meridians that he had asked about were actually burnt! The Meridians were extremely resistant to the flow of Qi, so how on earth could Qing Shan's Qi actually burn his Meridians? Liu Tiansheng grew serious. He had to find out what was going on!

"Boy, keep up your Circulation. I need to observe something."

Qing Shan was kind of scared by his master's tone of voice, but he quickly reminded himself that he was definitely not in too much danger.

'After all, why would Master not say anything if whatever problem was too serious?'

With this thought in mind, Qing Shan continued his Qi Circulation. Meanwhile, Liu Tiansheng, who heard this thought was laughing sarcastically to himself. This internal depreciating smirk quickly erased into an attitude of completer seriousness as he watched what was occurring in Qing Shan's body.

Soon, this seriousness changed into questioning.

Then shock.

Followed by fear.

And lastly, awe.

The reason for this was because Liu Tiansheng had found out why Qing Shan's meridians were burnt. This was because every time the wind and fire Qi came into contact with each other, or left contact with each other at one of Qing Shan's Meridians, a small spark of electricity formed. This electricity had also seared a line of burnt muscle between Qing Shan's Second and Third meridians.

Seeing this, a thought formed in Liu Tiansheng's mind.

'Could this be Lightning Qi?'

This thought was absolutely terrifying. Lightning, while said to possess Qi like any other type of energy, it was an energy that was the purest form of nature. No one had control of Lightning, and even Cultivators with powers equivalent to gods were scared of it. Lightning Qi was the only type of energy that did not fall under any of the elements as a secondary element. For instance, wood was an offshoot from earth Qi, and some geniuses had the power to control it. However, Lightning was a unique type of energy, because it had no true counter. It was unaffected by Light and Darkness. Water was reduced to a mere conductor before it. Lightning occasionally gave rise to Fire. Earth was scorched by Lightning. And even Wind had no choice but to yield before Lightning.

The sheer power of Lightning was why Liu Tiansheng had become awed by the possible future of his disciples. If Qing Shan truly gained power of Lightning Qi, he would even be able to pierce through the heavens!

Alas, this was only a possibility at this point. While Qing Shan does seem to possess Lightning in his body, it is only a miniscule amount. Furthermore, how would he gather more into his body?

'But what if the lightning energy has something to do with the flame and wind energy colliding? Wouldn't that mean that his body can somehow convert flame and wind Qi into Lightning Qi?

Liu Tiansheng quickly calmed his mind, not focusing on the myriad questions that appeared there.

"My disciple. I am now going to do something. Please continue circulating your Qi. Do not allow yourself to become distracted."

Liu Tiansheng did not wait for a response, directly covering the left side of Qing Shan's body in wind Qi.

"Holy Cr*p!"

Hearing this, Qing Shan immediately stopped his Qi circulation, worried that something was wrong. He looked back at his master, starting to say something, but his words trailed off as he saw the expression on Liu Tiansheng's face.

"What's wrong Mas…"

The reason that Qing Shan suddenly stopped speaking was because there was a huge smile on Liu Tiansheng's face. The ethereal figure was actually vibrating with joy. He looked at Qing Shan as if he was now looking at endless wealth.

Seeing the look on his master's face, Qing Shan began to back away slowly.

"I am sorry Master Liu, but I do not like men."

Hearing this, Liu Tiansheng's happy face instantly settled.

"Who likes men you little brat!"

"I was just scared because Master Liu looked like he was ready to assault me. I did not know that I was so amazing." Qing Shan began to shamelessly praise himself.

"Oh little brat, you are not just amazing, you defy logic!"

"huh."

Qing Shan definitely did not expect his master to praise him like this.

However, how could Qing Shan know that the reaction showed by Liu Tiansheng was actually quite restrained. Liu Tiansheng was just amazingly surprised and happy that he had decided on a whim to make this kid his disciple. This was because Qing Shan's fire Qi on the left side of his body had actually begun to spark with lightning when he came in contact with the wind Qi. This meant that Qing Shan could potentially turn all of the Qi in his body into Lightning Qi!

Liu Tiansheng again had to reign in his thoughts, immediately grabbing Qing Shan and bringing him into the world with the Primal Water, Fire and Wind. He brought Qing Shan into a position so that he was directly in between the two Primal Elements, facing the Water Qi. He then sat Qing Shan down.

"You are to cultivate here until I tell you to stop. You can use the Primal Water as your sustenance until then."

Liu Tiansheng immediately left, hoping that this little scheme of his would work. He had placed Qing Shan so that his body was facing the opposite directions as his QI. He had the wind on his left and the fire on his right. Hopefully, this would turn the Qi in Qing Shan's body entirely in to lightning Qi.

Qing Shan began his Circulation, not really knowing what his master was thinking. Luckily, at the moment Qing Shan was far enough away from both Primal Element Seeds that he was unhurt by their auras with his current body.

As Qing Shan was circulating his energy, he soon felt a strange feeling come over him. He felt as though the energy in his Minor Meridians was trembling with an abundant amount of force, and his Major Energy Vessels had turned into bottomless pits. Pain began to assault Qing Shan's body and Lightning started to rage around him.

Little less than a month later, The raging energy had begun to calm down. The aura of Lightning that had begun battling against the aura of the Primal Fire and Wind had finally lost out, falling into Qing Shan's body, which had undergone a monstrous change. In just one month, all of the Qi in his body had been mixed together, leaving only Lightning Qi. Qing Shan's Dantian now felt as though he could devour Qi like a fat man eats food! His Life Core had become harder than a rock, and his Third Eye had cracked open.

Qing Shan had had entered the first true realm of cultivation, Formation Soul!

Liu Tiansheng who had been full of anxiety the last month had finally begun to calm down, but he was still in shock. What had he just witnessed? While he had mostly expected Qing Shan's energy to turn to Lightning Qi, what just happened had exceeded all of his hopes and expectations. Who had ever imagined, never less witnessed, such a disastrous Qi energy output from someone breaking into the insignificant Formation Soul realm. This was unheard of!

Liu Tiansheng finally shook out of his astonishment a few minutes later, when he noticed that Qing Shan had passed out in the middle of the two Primal elements. He quickly dashed into that world and placed Qing Shan into the Primal Water. This was expected, considering that the boy had just gone a month without any form of sustenance other than the raging Qi in his body. It was a miracle in and of itself that Qing Shan remained conscious throughout the whole experience.

When Qing Shan came to, he felt as though he had been reborn. He could fully sense all of the energy in his body, and could even look at his internal organs without much effort. Qing Shan did not think much of the energy in his body, as he had no clue that Lightning was not an energy that anyone would normally be able to withstand, forget controlling it. Upon looking up, Qing Shan even noticed that he could see the Qi. in the air. For instance, near the walls of the cave, there was a large amount of yellow-brown Qi, and the rest of the cave was filled with an intense greenish-silver color. Qing Shan figured that these energies were most likely earth Qi and wind Qi.

Upon seeing that Qing Shan was awake, Liu Tiansheng ran over.

To Qing Shan's surprise, he could now see that Liu Tiansheng was actually green and silver, as if he was entirely made from wind Qi.

"Disciple, Congratulations! You managed to enter the first realm of cultivation! You can now truly be considered a Cultivator."

Qing Shan was surprised, but definitely believed his master. This would explain why he could now see the Qi in the air.

"Ah, so that's why I can see the Elemental Qi in the air."

Liu Tiansheng nodded.

"Master Liu, why is your ethereal form made up entirely from wind Qi?"

"Oh, that is because my Elemental Qi is wind of course."

Qing Shan nodded, his questions answered.

"Okay. Now that you have truly become a cultivator, it is about time for me to start teaching you how to fight. That is why you want power, correct?"

Qing Shan nodded, a feeling of excitement building up within him.

'I finally am going to start to gain power!'
