Chapter 5 - A White Swan, Part 5

The atmosphere became really tense. They just risked their lives on the edge of the balcony. Once they took a step, they would fall down.

"Ha ha ha... now, you trying to kill me."

"I won't kill you. I just want to make sure. Do you really want to end your own life?"

"You want to kill me, right?"

"I told you, I won't kill you. But, what if I die with you?"

"W-what..."

That man glared. he was trembling. It seemed that light blonde haired man went more shocked, but Lucky only stayed chill. Lucky approached him; whispering something at him.

"Let's talk about the future. Imagine if you fell down from here and died alone. Your parents won't accept your death in this way. Or, imagine you died, but you regret that you took me to die with you."

Lucky pushed that man a little right on the edge of the balcony. He still whispered at that man.

"Choose your fighter. If you choose to die, you will be alone forever. If you choose to stay alive, you have a chance to find the place that you called as 'family'."

"W-what the hell with you— stop it!"

Looking at Lucky's gaze, his throat was shaking. No words would come from his mouth.

His feelings became worst. What if his death wouldn't be accepted by his late parents? What if he would be alone forever although he died?

No, what if his death really brought regretful feelings because of that black haired man in front of him would die with him? Also, they only met since today... so, he didn't know more about that person. He thought, that was too risky for him bringing his problem to a stranger. He would feel guilty for that.

That adrenaline hit him too much. He became more trembling.

"RAWR!"

Kelana shouted at them. He opened his eyes widely, then he bit the hem of that light blonde haired man's pants. Lucky noticed that. He chuckled.

"Oh, ha ha ha. Look, you will make my cat feel sad if you continue to do this—"

Lucky pushed his arms near to the broken railing of the balcony. That almost made him fall down.

"S-stop it! Let me go!"

"No, before you change your mind and stay alive."

"P-please... that's enough!"

It seemed that man finally lost his energy until he couldn't endure his position. There was something made him hurt.

Back then, Lucky realized something happened to that light blonde haired man's left hand. A lot of blood flowed from the wound. It made that man went shaking and tried to endure his illness. But, he already lost his power; he finally gave up.

"—E-ENOUGH!"

"So, give me your answer."

"I-I want us to stay alive! So... p-please... s-stop..."

"Really?"

"I swear!"

It sounded that man's sound was shaking. He grabbed Lucky's wrist. He held it tightly and went trembling.

Lucky noticed it. That reaction. He knew that. He stopped pushed that man down and took him away from the edge of the balcony. Kelana saw them. He stopped bitting that man's pants.

Both of Lucky and Kelana felt grateful. Finally, that light blonde haired man was saved.

Back then, that man was still trembling because of what had Lucky done to him. He only responded Lucky by nodding. His throat was shaking. His heart beat so fast.

That man leaned his head on Lucky's shoulder. He had already powerless but only could cry without a voice.

Lucky realized, what he did to that man was too much. He felt guilty.

"Ha ha ha, I was overreacted, right. I'm sorry, 'kay?" He patted that man's back gently. That man still cried.

"Hey, come on... don't cry. It's actually my fault. So... forgive me, 'kay?"

That man only nodded.

"Hey... you know, you just want to run away from your illness," Lucky said. He looked at the wound from that man's left hand. "Look. Even your hand wants you to stay alive."

"... sorry."

"So, you still want to stay alive, right?"

"... umm."

Lucky sighed. He felt relieved.

At that time, Lucky remembered something about the thing that he found this afternoon. He took out something from his pocket. The necklace which belonged to that light blonde haired man. He gave it.

"Anyway, here's yours," Lucky said. Kelana walked over him, then he stroked Kelana's fur. "Kelana found it on the table that you sat on this afternoon. I guess, he really cares about you."

That man went surprised. That necklace, and the Norway stamp as a pendant. He took it from Lucky and stared.

"You saved it, huh..." that man said. The tears came from his face. "Thank you... so much."

Lucky smiled, then he patted that man's shoulder. "Alright, alright. Calm down. I also want to talk with you more. So, let's get out from this place and let me treat your wound."

***

It was 12:00 A.M. A day had already changed.

At the coffee shop, right on the coffee counter. It seemed that light blonde haired man felt uncomfortable with that kind of atmosphere. That felt unusual for him. He sat on the bar stool; looking at the wound that Lucky treated just then. It had been covered well with a bandage.

Back then, Kelana came over that man and jumped onto his lap. That man was shocked at first, but he noticed it. He looked at that male calico bobtail cat blinked his eyes and laid on his lap. At the same time happened, Lucky finished brewing chamomile tea for both of them.

Lucky started to pick a conversation with that man.

"Here, for you."

Lucky served that man a cup of tea and took a seat next to him. That man still glared at him. He still felt uncomfortable with that messy black haired man beside him. Remembering about that moment just then, didn't his attitude look... different than before?

"Hey, don't worry. I have no intention to kill you. You can drink it, just relax for a bit."

"Oh," that man muttered. "I'm sorry. Thanks for your concern."

"Don't mind it." Lucky smiled at him. "Anyway, we haven't introduced ourselves so far. I'm Lucky Satria Anjasmara, you can call me by anything. Then, what should I call you?"

"Sebastian. Sebastian Fjell."

"F-fi... fi... wait. Field?" Lucky propped his chin and went confused. That kind of name sounds unusual for him. That man went awkward after realizing Lucky's respond.

That man took out a card from his wallet. An identity card. Lucky took it, then read it carefully.

"Province of North Sulawesi, City of Manado.

Sebastian Fjell. Student.

Norway, December 25, 1996.

Citizen of Indonesia."

"Ah, I see. Norwegian surnames," Lucky said and returned that man's identity card. "Let me guess... it seems like you haven't only lived in this country for a long time. A mixed-race?"

That man went shocked. "H-how can... you know..."

"He he he, it's obvious!" Lucky smiled cheerfully at him. "Your accent really sounded well to me."

"That's creepy. Are you a spy?"

"Heh, you think too much. I'm just an ordinary owner of this coffee shop. Oh, but, I will become a college student this year."

"College student?"

"Yeah..." Lucky said with a painfully voice. "I just entered the postgraduate program of Linguistic at Brawijaya. How about you?"

"Ah. Not far away from my faculty. I'm in Medical Studies."

"Whoa, that's a coincidence we are in the same university!" Lucky exclaimed. "So, where do you live?"

"I... just went out from my dormitory because my contract is over. So I'm looking for the new place, but I haven't found it..."

That man went silent. The situation became awkward.

Back then, Lucky remembered something. He took the calendar in front of him, then he looked at the blue marked that he made it yesterday. There was his college's schedule that was written on the calendar.

"Let's see... do you have any schedules every Monday to Wednesday at 3:00 P.M?"

That man shook his head. "My college starts every Monday to Thursday, but I have no schedules in those periods..."

"That's good," Lucky said. "Would you mind to live here with us? I also have a job for you."

"Eh?"

"Since I moved away from my house and live with my cat, I think that's not bad at all if you live here with us," Lucky continued. "Actually, I'm looking for someone to help me keeping this shop while I have classes in those periods. But, if you don't mind with that..."

"... can I?"

"Eh, of course you can! I also pay you for that!"

After hearing that, he went surprised. He didn't expect that he found a place to live in.

"Can you hire me too?"

"Eh?"

That man sighed. "To be honest, I don't feel good if I only keep the shop for you. So... let me work here..."

"Really?" Lucky asked. He felt happy, finally he got someone to help him keeping the coffee shop.

But, thinking about what had he done to that man, somehow he felt guilty. "Wait. I'm glad if you want to work here. But... don't push yourself too hard. I just need someone only for keeping this shop."

"Don't worry about me. Since I'm lack of activities this semester, I can take the part-time for this."

"Ah..." Lucky muttered. He thought it for a moment. "How about being our waiter?"

"Waiter?"

"Yup!" Lucky exclaimed. "Alright! It's decided!"

He went to the cashier counter, took something from the drawer. A registration form and the spare key. He brought that.

"Then, fill this form. Also here's the key for you," Lucky said and gave that registration form and a spare key to that man. "We will move in your belongings here and celebrate your first day tomorrow!"

"How should I put the words..." the blushes brushed on that man's face. "Thank you, Lucky."

"Don't mind that. And, welcome to Poststukken, Sebastian!"
