Chereads / Gavin Knight / Chapter 6 - Conditions

Chapter 6 - Conditions

Gavin knew he messed up. Seeing Aya took him from his sanity he said yes to whatever was asked from him.

They brought Gavin upstairs. Dobbie started fixing Gavin's makeup, not an ordinary makeup but a drag makeup. Steve brought out a dress for him, as they are most likely about the same size.

"You should watch our performance later, so you have an idea how we perform." Don suggested while Dobbie was busy putting on makeup on Gavin.

"Sure, boss." Gavin answered concisely. He did not want to mess with the boss, most especially now that his chances with Aya are greater than what he expected earlier.

Don sensed the hesitation in his voice. "Don't worry the pay may not be that big but the tip is great as long as you have a good show. So you will basically save fairly quickly if you perform well."

Gavin nodded as Don explained it. And if it means that he would stay longer with Aya then, maybe, just maybe this mishap is not that bat at all. He went with the flow and tried on the dress Steve gave him.

It was uncomfortable, but he keeps reminding himself that it is a performance and he should be professional about it. He stared at himself in the mirror; they put a big wig on his head; it made him look taller; he is already six foot two and the extra three inches on his head and three inches more on his heels made him look a giant.

His glittery magenta make up was out of this world, well just like how a proper Drag makeup should look like. His dress was bright neon orange with black sequins accent.

The six drags stood together, admiring his beauty. "Dang! Gavin!" Don could not help but voice out his awe. "You are a stunner."

Gavin blushed, he turned so red it showed even his thick make up. He is used to being called a good-looking guy but coming from Don; it seemed more genuine.

"What the hell! Bashful is here!" Steve exclaimed, seeing Gavin blush even under his makeup.

Gavin instantly understood what he meant. He was still a young kid when he read the story of Snow White and the seven dwarfs. He chuckled and said in a low voice. "So is it Sofia White and the seven drags?"

The rest of the guys laughed at his comment. They loved their initial chemistry. Gavin was easy to approach and teach. And his appearance will surely bring their group more tips.

The six drags prepared for the night; while Gavin went down to see Aya. He plans on inviting her to see the guys' performance. "That hot kissing scene earlier deserves a follow up." Gavin shook off his perverted thoughts. He cleared his throat before approaching Aya.

"Hey, Aya!" Gavin awkwardly greeted Aya. He went inside and walked straight to the counter.

She faced her direction and stopped herself from impulsively grabbing him and kissing him again. She acted as casual as possible."Good thing you came back. I actually wanted to talk to you." Aya said directly to Gavin.

His heart jumped when he heard Aya's words. "Yeah, what is it about?" Gavin tried his best to play it cool. He did not want to appear too excited.

"Well, about earlier." Aya looked around to make sure no one else was around before she continued speaking.

"We still have to pretend that we are together until we completely convince Gerard that we really are a couple." Aya's eyes were shimmering, hoping that Gavin would answer positively.

Gavin knows he can't turn down Aya. He is a hypocrite to deny that this is the best thing that had happened to him in years. "Does it mean we should continue where we left?" A naughty question he could never voice out.

"Well, I thought we convinced him enough earlier, you know with the kiss and all." Gavin wanted to see Aya's reaction to the steamy make-out session they shared.

And Aya did not fail him. Her face turned scarlet after hearing it from Gavin. She took a deep sigh before answering Gavin. "Well, I know Gerard, and he will not easily give up. I'm freaking sure of that."

"Well, if it was me, I would not let go of you that easily, too. I'd be crazy if I do that." Gavin muttered in a low voice.

"What did you just say?" Aya asked Gavin, as he barely let an intelligible word out of his mouth.

"Ahm, I said, what do you have in mind?" Gavin said to divert Aya from what he just said.

"Well, I want you to live here with me." Aya dropped it like a bomb on Gavin's face.

"Li-live here? Me?" Gavin stuttered, answering Aya.

"Yeah, I mean, since we are pretending to be a couple, it would be easier for us to be here together, in case he comes back." Aya tried to explain her side.

"I'd love to, Aya. But…" Gavin explained his side but Aya butted in as he was clearing up his situation.

"I'll pay you!" Aya made it clear that she is entering a business proposal with him nothing else. She knew Gavin was about to reject her. She had to save her face and make it seem like she means pure business.

It hurt Gavin's ego that Aya would try to pay him just to be with her. But it is the best opportunity for him to be with Aya more. "You don't have to, Aya. I just meant that your brother offered me a job, too. So I would be a morning boyfriend and a drag queen at night. If that's okay with you. "

"Of course, Gerard won't be here at night anyway, so its fine. But I still need to pay you. If you are not comfortable, then you can do mundane tasks here." Aya insisted her take on their deal. Gavin felt like Aya desperately wants to keep their relationship as professional as possible.

Gavin nodded. He understands Aya's predicament, and he does not want to rush whatever it is that is going on between them. Anyway, who would be interested in dating a broke fugitive like him.

"If that's the case then, can I ask for an advance payment?" Gavin asked Aya, who did not expect his request.

"Am I turning into a sugar mommy? What am I doing?" Aya laughed to herself. "Okay, but not over a hundred dollars, okay?" Aya said her ceiling price to Gavin.

He smirked at her.

She could melt in his smile, but she does not want Gavin to realize that she is like a little girl crushing on him right now. She let out a faint smile and raised her hands in surrender. "Fu*k it okay I'm a sugar momma." Her thoughts not fighting back the giddy feeling she is experiencing right now.

"Okay, two hundred dollars. That is the last price." She raised her limit. She suddenly accepted her role as a sugar momma thirsty for Gavin.

"You don't have to; I just want to invite you out tonight. The guys want me to watch their performance at the drag bar." Gavin explained it fully to Aya.

"Hmm, invite me out tonight, meaning be your tour guide, right?" Aya was straightforward. She chuckled at her reply.

"Well, I was thinking of a date, but if tour guide sounds better for you then; sure." Gavin replied and laughed with her.

"Come with me inside 'our' house." Aya pulled Gavin's hand towards the backdoor. It was such a sweet sight if someone sees them, they might think they are in a 'relationship'.

Seeing their home; it flabbergasted Gavin; the backroom looked like a regular house, and there is a small living room and kitchen, and three other rooms.

Aya walked in the middle and raised her hands. "Welcome to our love nest!" She giggled as she joked at Gavin, even though she aims for it. But to him, it was like a goal that he is setting his eyes on, unaware that Aya is infatuated with him as well.

"This would be your room." Aya opened a small room with a mattress on the floor.

"Great, thanks." Gavin's heart swelled with gladness. At least he can call this his own, for now, and the best thing is; it's just beside Aya's room.

"I'm sorry, it's not a five star accommodation but we can improve on it as we go along." Aya proved her intention to give Gavin a long and pleasant stay in her house.

"I just have one condition for your stay here." Aya said in a serious tone as she rested her hands on her hips.

"What is it? Anything for you, Aya. I am willing." Gavin again, readily agreeing to everything Aya is saying without knowing the full context of her conditions.

She smiled when she saw Gavin's willingness to everything she says. "Is he just indebted to me? Or.. Is it wrong to assume he wants me too?" Aya thought of a way to make sure of his stand first before anything else. She faced him directly and in her flirtatious tone said; "I do not allow you to fall in love with me, Gavin."
