It's like we're walking through a cave. A frozen cavern in search of some respite. A movie. Two beautiful girls and a strong male lead. Those movies never turn out good. Why do I compare myself to things with negative outcomes? You only get positive with positive thought.
Sanniya is beautiful. So focused, confident. I understand why Xavier never let me see any pictures. Everything I like. Long shiny black hair. Clean light brown skin, exotic green eyes. Dressed like a woman, black pants and a white jacket. I know it's a gun bulging on her hip.
We've walked up to the 5th floor. It's a ways from the girls room. But I trust her for some reason. Besides the cold nothing has happened. The lights are still going on and off. I can tell the generator is getting weaker. The lights are dim. We need to hurry.
"Help!" Kristen's voice fills the hallway
"Kristen" Alexis screams
I turn around about to run back downstairs.
"CB, no" Sanniya says calmly holding my arm
"Its Kristen" I say
She's shaking her head but looks away from my eyes "she's already gone. Its letting us hear her, so we will go back, it's a trap"
"But" I hold up the dreamcatcher
"It's only affecting things around us, we're safe but it can still do things. Ignore anything crazy you see."
"Lets keep going" Alexis urges
The two girls turn and keep walking. I look back and see a shadow shooting across the hallway. I shake the sight away and turn around. Alexis and Sanniya are still going. I sprint a few steps to close the gap. I slow down seeing pale frozen hands. They are reaching out the walls, fingers dancing as they try to touch the girls. I wipe my face trying to ignore them. But as I pass the hands I can feel them brushing my arms and legs. I'm twitching and when I turn the faces are there. Trapped in the walls like a frozen lake. It's them, all of them. Faces blue and bloated. Some with scars, others missing crucial parts. I can't hear them but the message is clear. Help they want help. The faces start distorting. Twisting and bulging in horrible ways. They start beating on the ice. I feel them hitting it. The ice cracks and water begins to seep through. About to burst. Then I bump into something.
Alexis is holding my shoulders " You alright, you're sweating"
I have to blink "yea Im fine" moving her hands
The beating sounds again and I jump. Calming down When I see Sanniya. She's at a room door. Well it's a frozen chunk of ice now. She's kicking it with no result. I step over.
"Is this the one." I ask
She nods "He's in there I'm sure," She looks at me hard "your pale, are you alright?"
"Yea just a little cold, let me try the door" I say touching the ice.
It's thick maybe an inch, and freezing my fingers actually stick to it. I take a few steps back to get some space. I take a deep breath and rush the door shoulder first. I hit it hard and hear a crack. But I'm far from concerned by it. There is a face not inches from mine. The only thing separating us is a thin layer of ice. She is beautiful in an exotic way like I've never seen. Her eyes are extremely blue rivaling the ice. Her skin is the darkest I've ever seen but also the smoothest. She is smiling at me.
"Don't come, kill her, kill her and I'll let you live, live with Kristen, kill her for me" she whispers
"NO" I scream seeing Sanniyas face in my mind.
The woman's smile turns sinister "fool"
I see her hands each finger with a colorful jewel on it. Her wrists with small thin glowing bracelets. She shoves through the ice hitting my chest. I feel my back hit something and I'm on the floor looking at the door. My shoulder hurts and the girls are staring at me.
"Did I get it?" I say trying to shake away the woman's voice.
"Nope," Alexis says helping me up.
"Stand back" Sanniya reaches into her coat and pulls out a big pink pistol.
I move back as she takes aim at the door. She shoots six times the blast deafening in the small hallway. But it works we watch as chunks of ice fall off the door.
"Hold this" She hands the gun to Alexis "when we get inside" she pauses " If he gets up watch his eyes if they are green shoot him. Think of the one thing you hate most and shoot him."
"What...but you said" I protest
"That's why you don't have the gun." Sanniya cuts me off "If I can't stop him he can't go on it's my job to ensure that. Can you do it Alexis"
Alexis nods, taking the pistol and holds it staring at it.
"CB" Sanniya waves me to her side.
"When we get in I'm..."
As Sanniya is talking I feel something warm on the back of my head. It's small, maybe the size of a nickel. For some reason I see my family's faces. All of them waving at me, smiling. A weightless feeling is spreading through my body. I glance at Sanniya who is looking afraid. I don't know why I feel amazing. Then I hear a bang and a light flashes blinding me. I'm falling forward. The black woman waiting with open arms smiling.
