From within the castle, Mira looked out the window at the men as they flew around on their boards. It was like watching surfers out on the ocean, except the ocean was one made up of air instead of water.
She sighed, wishing she could join them, but even at her healthiest, there was no way she would have been able to surf the blast. She was human, not mage. She was magikally inert.
Carol was sitting on the cushioned divan with her, crocheting a small blanket. Her son was sleeping quietly by her side, along with Twilight.
"How are your in-laws?" Mira asked just to have something to say.
Unfortunately, it set loose a torrent.
"I don't want to talk about them!" Carol huffed.
"Okay." Mira pressed her lips together.
"I can't believe how narrow-minded they are!" She snarled, yanking at the thread on her blanket.
Mira chuffed.
