It all sounded quite strict and forbidding the way 'thunder and lightning' Erick put it, but in reality, living within Avalon Castle was anything but restrictive.
The castle was built on the side of Avalon Hill, which was fairly broad and gently sloped. Half of it had been cleared and planted with acres and acres of grape vines.
The grapes grew so abundantly, it provided enough wine grapes to satisfy the needs of the winery on site. There was even a fairly decent plot that provided a plethora of fat juice table grapes, enough to satisfy the occupants of the castle and even beyond its walls.
The other half of Avalon Hill had groves of various fruits, nuts, and an especially robust and abundant area of cherry trees. All of these orchards were part of the castle grounds, as was the small creek that flowed down from the mountain peak and pooled into a pond at the foothills.
