"Do you remember Celeste Zaravan?" Erick's eyes were grim.
Mira nodded. "Yes. Wasn't she the Princess who was supposed to marry you or Zander?"
"Yes. Well—that was her head."
"What?"
"Sweetheart. Listen to me." Erick wrung his hands. "Because she is a convicted criminal, my father had given the decree to execute her after the baby was born."
He paused for a moment ,then continued. "Remember the morning Raphael Summer came with Baby Twilight?"
Mira nodded.
"That was the night Raphael Summer carried out the royal edict and Celeste Zaravan was executed by beheading."
"Since you had insisted on keeping the baby, he could not kill her in a way that would endanger the baby so he chose this method as the safest way for the baby."
"What way?" Mira was almost afraid to ask.
"He isolated the demon into her head and then cut it off the body. Then he sealed the head with a magik Command."
