"Don't even think about it. I want you to live a full and happy life. I don't want you to nurse me for the rest of your days."
"Baby, nursing is my job." Mira laughed.
"What?"
"Here on Earth, I was trained to be a nurse practitioner—what you call a healer on Ashrya."
He shook his head. "That's not what I mean. You surely have better things to do with your time than to harvest energy for someone else."
"It's my time to use as I please. If I want to use the time to support my husband, nobody gets to say anything about it." She sniffed.
"You won't be able to do anything else if all day long, you are harvesting energy for me. I would not feel happy about that either."
"Who says I won't be able to do anything else all day long?"
"Don't forget, I've seen you sitting for hours, absorbing tiny trickles of energy." His eyes reflected his heartbreak.
Mira snapped her jaw shut. She couldn't argue with that.
