While Tangerine and Lauren were working in cramped unsanitary conditions comforting the sick and injured, Cobalt Osiris was sitting under the shade of a clump of fan palms sipping rum and coconut with the King of Mer, Marley Barnaby.
The sky was blue, the sea aquamarine. A cool breeze blew through them, tumbling Cobalt Osiris' long red hair around.
The same cool breeze barely managed to wiggle the few short grey strands that were still hanging onto King Marley Barnaby's shiny bald pate.
Six beautiful mermaids stood in wait around the two kings, serving drinks from golden goblets and holding plates of fruits and sweets.
"Cobalt, you really must rethink your rigid ideology of having only one wife." King Marley Barnaby's brown eyes crinkled with delight. "I have surrounded you with half-a-dozen of the finest mermaids and you are turning them all down."
