The first thing she sees on the screen is the black eye on his bruised face. Her heart sinks. Unspeakable things have been done to her king. Things she knows that he's too proud to tell her about. Too much of a hero to show weakness. But she asks anyway,
"Nathan... Nayth babe, what did they do to you? Are you okay?" she asks.
"I'm okay Cath," he responds then looks away for a brief moment, "There's no need to worry. I'm okay."
"No Nayth. Don't give me that babe," she says, "You have a black eye and your face is bruised. You're not okay Nayth. You don't have to..."
"Don't you think I know that Cath?" Nathan snaps, "Telling you about what they did ain't gonna fix a damn thing! And why did you agree to the video call? I told you that I don't want you to see me like this!"
