"I think it is because of your anger. When you become angry, what you hear intensifies. Although we still have to run a few tests if this is true and as to what that sound is. But I think it is blood"
"Blood?" Zii asked.
Dr. Santiago nodded.
Dr. Santiago stood up and then said, "As I told you earlier, there are no open faucets nor water here. The only thing that is flowing here is the blood in our bodies"
Zii felt amazed.
'She figured all of that with just what I told her?' Zii thought to himself.
"Well we don't know for sure if you have enhanced hearing or your hearing is only sensitive towards blood" She continued.
"Let's go somewhere else" Dr. Santiago said.
She took Zii to an open field. On the way there, there was not a single person in sight. It was just the two of them. There were no rooms. Only the never ending sight of the corridor. The corridors were colored white. Even the ground was white. He felt like he was in an asylum for the mentally ill.
The open field was a very verybig room that has the same theme as the corridor. It was just a big room that was painted white. Inside the open field was a dummy.
"Okay here we are" Dr. Santiago said.
"Now, try to punch the dummy" Dr. Santiago said.
'Punch the dummy?' he thought.
"Alright" he said.
He threw a punch at the dummy. It was just a very lame punch. Like he was just stretching his arm.
Zii suddenly felt a surge of power.
In an instant, the whole dummy was obliterated. The room shook. The walls were cracked and even the ground looked like it was pillaged by a machine that dug in a straight line.
"What...?" Zii said as he backed off. He took three steps back and then stumbled down.
"Amazing!" Dr. Santiago shouted as she clapped. Her eyes glittering.
"Judging from the power that you exerted, it seems that you are capable of exerting power that is close to that of an S rank SMB" Dr. Santiago said.
"What's an SMB?" He asked, intrigued.
"Well, it's time for me to explain the things that have happened. Haven't you wondered how long you were asleep?" She said.
Zii nodded.
"You've been asleep for more than 2 years." She said.
"What?!" Zii exclaimed dumbfoundedly.
"Yes. I will give you a quick summary of what has happened in the past 2 years."
"When you three discovered the meteor site, you fell into a coma. A radiation attacked 80% of your town's population while 20% remained unaffected. Some died, some recovered. In that meteor site, the scientists unearthed a crystal. The Divine Crystal Stone. It has the ability to cure people but it also genetically interfered with the dna of the people. Resulting in them having differing eye colors. Giving them powers that are beyond our imagination. Although your case is different since you still have normal colored eyes..."
"Yellow eye color is E rank. Orange is D rank. C is green, B is red, A is black and S is blue. E is the lowest while S is the highest so far."
"The date today is December 9, 2027. You woke up yesterday. December 8, 2027"
"3 months ago, September 7, 2027, a portal appeared in your town. 2 weeks after that, monsters started to appear from that portal. They wreaked havoc and then killed hundreds of civilians including your friend's father, Eduardo Salazar"
"However, the situation was quickly contained because an A rank SMB appeared."
"Fast forward 3 months later, it is now December" she said with a smile.
Zii's heart started to pound.
His thoughts were in a mess. All of the things shocked him but what shocked him the most was the fact that Shin's father died.
"Can I take a break?" Zii said feeling a bit tired
"Sure." She said and then she left.
Zii was left alone inside this big open field.
He felt sorrowful because of the fact that his uncle, Shin's father was dead.
Remembering him, he was one of the most kind people that he has ever met.
"Once I'm able to control whatever the hell's wrong with me, I will go visit Shin" Zii murmured to himself.
He then started to calm himself down.
'Well, It's no use trying to think about the sh*t that's been going on in the past 2 years. I'm awake. My family is safe and that's all that matters. The sooner I gain control over myself, the sooner I'll be able to confidently go out' He thought.
He threw what he learned to the back of his head.
He breathed in and out slowly as he closed his eyes.
The sound of the flowing water became louder and louder. But this time, it wasn't unpleasant to the ears. It felt natural as if he was standing in front of a waterfall.
He threw a punch with his right arm and then a wave of air came along with it. He then proceeded to throw a 1-2 jab. Back then, he binge watched hajime no ippo the anime. He became so addicted to boxing that he ultimately decided to become a professional boxer when he turns 22.
He started to throw numerous jabs and straights. Casual uppercuts and hooks.
Every punch that he threw resulted in the whole open field shaking.
He then took a stance. When he was in grade 8, he took interest in taekwondo. He trained in the taekwondo class for a bit of time. Joined the varsity but ultimately decided to quit since he couldn't really manage his training and his studies.
He threw a kick with his right foot. He took a step forward and then threw an axe kick. He shuffled and then threw a tornado kick.
"I still got it" Zii thought to himself.
