Chapter 40 - Chapter 39: Skeleton Soldiers

Shin had won the exchange.

The two opposing sides on the battlefield finally stood up as their eyes shifted to Shin and the Orc Lord.

"Sh*t! He won!!!!!"

"What?! He won!!!!"

"Whooooo! We won!!"

The SMBs laughed and some even cried. They yelled as their morale rose. There were only a few of them left. Maybe 6-8 SMBs. They were originally more than double that amount but because of the Orc Lord going on a rampage, their numbers dwindled to not even half their original amount.

The Orc Soldiers shrieked as they all mourned in sorrow.

Their Lord was dead!!!

How could this happen!?

"SSUUU!" One Orc Soldier was beheaded.

"The battle is not over yet! Charge!!!" One SMB said as he took this golden opportunity to issue a command to his comrades.

"Right! Let's finish them off!"

"Kill!!!!"

The SMBs charged towards the orc soldiers as they fought them. The Orc Soldier's morale was low so this was their chance to avenge their fallen comrades.

Shin looked at his level and he smiled. He was now level 15!

Shin pondered for a moment and decided to put all of his stat points on his intelligence since he knew that raising the intelligence stat means raising his MP. He needed a huge amount of MP to withstand the constant use of his Undead skill.

He then shifted his gaze towards the Undead Skill

'My undead skill has leveled up...'

Undead

- Reconstruct the corpse and bring it back to "life". Once you've cast this skill on a target, you can summon and de-summon the creature at will. You can hear the voices of the dead and see them. Hence, you can cast this skill on them and once again bring them into existence. You can summon skeleton soldiers.

Undead limit: 18/100

No MP used when using this skill. When the soldiers thay you summoned are killed, they will constantly reform until your MP runs out.

Shin's eyes gleamed. The number of Undead that he could now use his skill on was at an astonishing number. A hundred!

He read it again for a moment and then noticed something...

(You can summon skeleton soldiers)

'Wait... So i didn't need corpses to use my Undead skill on???'

Shin cursed himself. If he had known earlier, then he wouldn't have waited for other people to die!

'This is what you get for not reading the skill descriptions. You lazy ass m*therf*cker' Shin cursed himself inwardly.

Shin then looked at the Hands of Death skill.

Hand of Death

- Instantly take 70% of target's health and convert it into mana. However, each time you cast this spell, you will lose 50% of your overall health points

Side effect: With consecutive uses of this skill your maximum health limit will decrease by 10% and it will increase by 10% each time. Your maximum HP limit will naturally recover after 1-2 days of not using this skill.

'The side effect has lessened for about 10%... And even the recovery time has lessened a day.'

Shin laughed. Who would've thought that battling a B rank monster would give so much benefits?!

'Maybe I should kill B rank and up monsters in the future? They even give 10 stat points...' Shin pondered.

If anyone were to hear him they would beat him till he was a meat paste!

"What arrogance! Killing B rank and up monsters!? You think it's that easy?!" They would probably say this and then spit on his face.

He then proceeded to look at the item that he obtained.

'World key huh? I obtained one of these back then but I still haven't bothered to use it... Then after this, I'll check on it.' Shin thought to himself.

"I knew it!" Shin said.

He focused his attention on the notifications.

Usually, when a dungeon was cleared, a notification would pop up that says,

"[Dungeon cleared]"

But nothing of this kind has popped up. That meant that the dungeon hasn't been cleared and that wasn't the boss monster!

"Wow... If something that powerful wasn't the boss monster... Then how powerful is the boss?" Shin's eyes shone with excitement.

'If I could get that boss monster to become one of my own...then....'

Shin looked at the Orc Lord in front of him and then said,

"Live"

After a few moments, nothing happened.

"Huh?" Shin was puzzled.

"Live!" Shin said, but this time it was louder.

But there wasn't any reaction. Nothing happened.

'System why is my skill not working?' he asked. He figured he should probably ask the system since it knew far more than him.

[Ding Ding! The stat gap between the creature and the host is very wide.]

'Ohhh... So that's how it is.'

Shin looked at the remaining orc corpses. In fact, the battle ended just a few moments ago. With the increase in morale of the SMBs, it was dog's play to kill those orc soldiers especially with the help of Shin's minions.

"Live"

In the blink of an eye, those dead orcs started to stand as flesh grew and reattached to itself. Like before, these orcs were emanating a purple aura. There eyes all had the same purple color.

Right now, Shin has more than 30 undead minions as the number of corpses were bountiful.

Next he decided to call upon a few skeleton soldiers.

"Live" the ground in front of him started to shake as hands that were only bones with no skin or flesh appeared. They climbed up from the dirt and then revealed their skeletal frame. More than 20 Skeleton soldiers were summoned. They all kneeled in front of him with one leg and had their heads bowed.

The other undead minions all followed suit.

More than 50 undead minions kneeled in front of Shin.

They didn't speak but Shin could clearly hear what they wanted to say.

'My Liege!'

'My King!'

'My Lord!'

Shin stood there with a smile.

He then looked at the Orc Lord's corpse. After a few moments of pondering, Shin laughed as he figured it out. He then stored the Orc Lord's corpse in his inventory.

If it wouldn't work right now? Surely it would work when I activated my innate ability right?

"But now..." Shin's eyes shone with joy as he looked at the portal in front of him.

'I wonder what the rewards are going to be after I clear an A rank dungeon and kill its boss?' Shin thought to himself as he was filled with excitement.
