Chapter 18 - Poem 16-Broken

We humans need to be forgiven

Our twisted selves are what has driven

Us to this lost corner of the living

We complain and we are always preaching

And yet we don't live by the code that we are teaching

We gave into temptations

And we can't Complain

Created by our twisted nature

Deep down we are all the same

This cursed world is a product of our creation

A world that reeks of our favor, we have nothing to blame

I have to be honest

Everything is not what it seems

We all need to be redeemed

Well, we are not changing even if we have promised

So bad children need to be punished

But as I said, it's not what it seems.

I shall sing this lullaby to this night

A calming tone for my soul

'I am trying to hold unto happiness

But it always gets broken

Mother, oh dear father

There is a monster under my bed

It's here take what has already been stolen

What you see is what you get

Oh dear mother, oh dear father

There is a monster in my bed

It makes a good toy to hold

And well it's already dead
