He must have heard her rushing downstairs anxiously, so he glanced over at the staircase.
Freya stood on the stairs awkwardly and did not know what to say.
Gideon walked over.
Freya greeted him uneasily, "Morning, Mr. Carter."
The man looked at her coldly and spoke in a questioning tone. "Where did all the food from last night go?"
"You were gone after I was done cooking, so I took a couple of bites and threw out the rest."
He said angrily, "Since when did you have a right to make decisions for me?"
She pursed her lips and said nervously, "I'm sorry."
"Aren't you going to make breakfast?"
