Gideon quickly put out his half-smoked cigarette and tossed it into the trash can nearby.
He opened the front passenger seat car door as he glanced at the woman. He raised his brow and asked, "Do you have a problem with it?"
Freya veered her eyes, refusing to make eye contact as she pondered. She had only journeyed in his car a handful of times before, but she was kicked out of the car twice.
It was only natural for her to feel worried about being in his car.
She contemplated briefly before she smiled and replied, "The culinary school is very far away. Aren't you going to be late for work?"
Gideon glanced at her and scoffed, "Is there anyone in the company who would dare to chastise me for turning up late?"
Freya went quiet.
He made complete sense.
She had undoubtedly come up with the wrong excuse.
Freya nodded as she acknowledged him awkwardly. She thanked him before getting into the car.
