"RABBIT FOOT! COME HERE!!" A woman's voice sang out across the meadow, her feet mushed into the moss and her dress trailed sadly behind her. She had wild red hair, and eyes that danced like a merry flame through the night. A boy ran in front of her, he was like the wind, fast and fierce. She could not keep up. "Rabbit foot! Would you just hold on please!" She pleaded with him but to no avail, he swung through the trees, like an ape, and weaved through the undergrowth like a bird. He only slowed to look back at her and laugh, she was huffing and puffing, shuffling way behind like an old man.
"Come on Cynthia!" His voice was full of cheer and youthfulness, his sister was not impressed. "Oh shut your gob, I see you laughing at me!" She shook her head at him, sticks and bugs flew out of her hair back into the forest. Rabbit foot watched for half a second, before speeding off again. He looked around him as he passed by, it was early evening, and the forest was alight with the last rays of sunshine and fading birdsong.
A voice slipped through the trees and curled around his ear, "help me..." It was faint, but Rabbit foot heard it loud and clear, it sounded like a girls voice, young and helpless. He swerved and ran in the direction of the voice, forgetting all about Cynthia behind him.
The forest was darkening now, but Rabbit foot paid no mind, the voice was getting louder and louder, the girl sounded more and more distressed as he got closer. He was determined to reach her, but every time he felt he was close, it got further and further away...
