Chapter 16 - Interrogation

'Well that was messy' I thought to myself as I watch Iris and Ivy tie down the two humans with glowing ropes.

"What's with those ten things?" I suddenly asked. "Why are they hollow?"

Then, Ivy replied while tying down the woman, "They are like Glut but without consciousness… they are merely tools, My Lord"

"I see… How was Glut made?"

Finished tying the woman, Ivy stood up straight then looked at me, "He was made by your father, My Lord." She nodded her head, "His Greatness has the ability over souls."

Isn't that way too damn strong?!

"Over souls?!"

"Shortly after, Iris finished tying the guy then also looked at me, "I am still quite surprised by you forgetting familial ties, My Lord…"

Trying to be genuine, I mumbled, "W-well… I am too!"

"It would be enough of a testament of power to say that your Father, has undergone 4 blessings."

"4?" I raised my head. "What does that mean?"

"He is very, very powerful."

Oh… I see. But isn't he dead? How did he die?

"How did he die?"

Hearing that, Ivy looked at the two figures tied in front of us. "It's these filthy humans and their 'righteousness'" Her eyes gleamed as she said the last word.

"So they killed my famil—"

"HAAA!" A shout suddenly resounded from the woman, her echoes amplified by the silence that dowses the forest.

Ever since the humans appeared the forest got really quiet… the loud chirps, the roars of different animals and the croaking of trees. They must really be afraid of them huh… Well they should be, humans try their best to destroy nature… even on my past world.

"SHUT UP!" Iris's voice woke me from my thoughts.

The woman suddenly looked in Iris's direction, creating a loud 'HNGG' when she shouted.

Noticing the very suffocating and eerie tension in the air that is a few steps away from awkwardness, I spoke, "What's your name?" I asked.

After a few seconds of profuse sweating and gulping, she answered, "R-Reyna… Reyna Pritchett…"

"And you're human?"

"Y-yes!" She exclaimed.

Her breathing is getting faster and faster, slowly realizing how much danger she is in.

"Are you going to t-tto-torture m-me?"

Wow, she has a very hard stuttering issue.

"Don't worry, I won't do that." I assured her, then I noticed both Iris and Ivy looked at me with questioning faces. I waved my hand and said, 'I got it' with my lips. Which, they simply bowed afterwards.

Seeing Reyna, kneeling on the ground, tied up, blindfolded, liters of tears flowing down her covered eyes and streams of snot dripping from those sharp noses, I knelt down and whispered, "Don't worry, I won't hurt you."

Then she sobbed even deeper, "b-but you're a monster…" She sighed weakly.

"I'm a spirit."

Sniffing her snot, she replied with a high tone, "Spirit?"

"Yes!" I shouted in a low voice as if speaking to a child, "A spirit of the forest."

"What do you mean?"

"I do not know myself… But I can assure you that I won't hurt you."

"O-okay…"

I smiled as her hard sobbing slowly softened… at least I got to calm her down, right?

Then, the man started moving. Repeating almost the same sequence that happened with Reyna, with him assuming he is being tortured… do creatures in this world like torture that much tho?

After a short exchange, the man asked to remove their blindfolds —which, Iris and Ivy strongly went against, saying that they will know our faces and will thus, send more forces against us…. But I can't just leave them scared, unknowing of what looks at them.

After the removal of the blindfolds, the two stared at me like I'm some ghost —Which I am… kinda,

To break the silence, I asked. "Why are you here?"

The two jolted straight, as if sprung by some electric shock. Then Reyna answered, "T-to hunt the vampire family."

And I do not kid with you, as long as she said that, the surrounding air became so DREADINGLY pungent.

"What's that smell?" I asked.

"I apologize, My Lord." Ivy suddenly answered.

"Why?"

"My scent is influenced by my emotions." She whispered, "I simply felt an anger that I did not know I can feel, My Lord."

"I see."

"I shall excuse myself now, My Lord." She continued.

"As long as you're comfortable… And do not listen to what we are talking about unless you will stay!

"If that is what you wish, My Lord."

Then the two of them disappeared into the trees... Why did Iris come? Nevermind that, it's my chance to gain information.

"So tell me." I sighed as I sat down in front of the two. "What is this world?"

Staring at me for a while, the man asked, "Are you an Otherworlder?"

"What do you mean by that?"

After a huge gulped, he answered, "Someone from another world…."

"Why do you ask that?" I asked while plucking a handful of grass.

"Because you speak such fluent Englsih."

"I see… Well yes I am an Otherworlder." I whispered, "How about you?"

After answering, the chest of the man heaved strong inhales and exhales. "I am an otherworlder…. Why are you not human? Why are you here? What summoned yo"

I raised my hand, interrupting his questions.

"I shall answer you for another time." I glared at him, "For now, you answer me. "

"Y-yes."

"Well then, first question, How big is this world?"

Maybe after a few seconds, the man answered, "Probably more than 3x bigger than Earth…"

Crap… 3x?! WHAT?!

"3 TIMES?" I shouted.

"Well maybe, since you should consider that one continent is probably barely bigger than Pangaea…"

"And how many continents are there?"

"6 continents."

After a quick rush of anxiety, I continued, "All of them massive?"

"Veeeery Massive." He answered. "And together with a lot of fragmented lands bigger than the two American continents combined."

Damn… that is a very big World…

For a few minutes, a moment of silence enveloped the three of us, only the whoosh of the wind can be heard

Still plucking the grass, I asked. "What is IN the world."

"Well to sum it up, Tons of Kingdoms with either Wrathful or Benevolent Kings, A couple of Theocracies, powerful creatures, and Gods." He shrugged.

"Wait, what's your name?"

"Fern Blacke."

Then I looked at Reyna who has been staring at me all this time.

"And what Kingdom are you from?"

"Were fr-from the Kavanae Empire." Reyna replied in whispers.

"Which one of you know more about the world?"

"Reyna." Fern simply answered. Causing Reyna to let out a sharp shriek, followed by a sharp glare at Fern.

"I see." I crossed my arms, "I assume you can answer my questions then."

"I-I'll try my best."

"Please, don't be afraid." I tapped her shoulders.

"Okay…"

"Well then!" I shouted, "First question, what are the different races?"

Because I want to know if Bunny-girls exist… nothing wrong with that.

"Hundreds…"

Hundreds huh… so I could assume that Bunny-girls exist somewhere out there, "Fair enough." I shrugged.

"Second! What is magic?"

With a surprised look, she answered. "It is how we, mortals, manipulate the surrounding mana."

"Definition of mortals?"

"Everything under the Gods." She answered with a straight face.

Well that's harsh.

"And what do God's do?"

"Ha!" Fern shouted, "They play with mortals!"

"Captain! Be careful with your words!" Reyna shouted at him in a low tone.

"Yes, yes, yes they can always hear us." He shook his head,

Curious, I asked Fern, "What do you mean by play?"

"They basically treat us like we are some characters in an RTS game."

Oh… well that's one concise answer
