Chapter 1 - The Void and meeting Grandpa

'Where is this?'

He woke up in a dark.... void, for the lack of a better word. He couldn't feel, hear, see or smell anything. He couldn't even move. All he could do was think.

'Okay, Rei, calm down. You got this. Now try to remember where and who you are. You are Rei Suzuki. 27-years old, orphan. Friends? None. Right. Had to remember that, huh? 'kay, now try to remember how you got here. I got off from work and went home. Then went to sleep. And woke up here. And now we're back to where we came from. Great.'

After what seemed like an eternity, a white portal opened in front of him and out of it came an old man, who looked like the nice grandpa next door.

"Huh, how did you end up in here?" he asked.

Rei: "I've got no Idea. You know where this place is, Grandpa? And who are you? I mean you just came out of a freacking portal."

Grandpa: "Now, now, first follow me through, afterwards I will try to explain everything to you."

'Well, might as well.' Rei: "Lead the way."

A little bit latter...

Rei was now sitting on a chair in front of a table in the middle of a wide and open garden, with many weird and beautiful animals and plants he had never seen before. On the other side of the table the Grandpa that took him out of the void and brought him here was sipping on a cup of tea while eating some cookies. "Now then, I will try to explain everything to you. I am what you would call a god, though it really is much more complicated than that. Just think of me as the first thing to come into existence, with every living being having copies of little parts of me. The Original, if you so will. But you can just continue calling me Grandpa, I haven't had anyone to talk to for quite some time. And as to where you were before? That was the void, a place outside of every dimension, in which everything but me should dissolve. Strangely enough though, you didn't. Neither should you have been there in the first place."

"Then how did I get there?"

"I don't know."

'Huh? What? But-'

"You just suddenly appeared there, and I have no Idea how or why. But seeing as I didn't find anything about you in the records I can't just reincarnate you either."

"Records? You don't mean-"

"The Akashik Records? Yes."

"But don't they record everything that has existed, is existing and will exist? How come they don't record me? I mean, I even have my memories."

"I do have a few theories, such as, you, including your memories, being a construct of the void or the embodiment of a concept, for example, but other than that I have no Idea. And as you are not in the records you are an unforeseeable variable, as such I cannot simply reincarnate you. What I would normaly do if I meet someone, is grant you a few wishes, with me regularly checking on you. But again, I cannot reincarnate you into any world."

'This...'

"Then can't you just reincarnate me outside of any world?"
