"Uhh...., can someone please turn the sun off." I say nonsensically, before dragging myself off the bed. The bedsheets and pillow fall over me as I fall off the bed. I conduct my morning rituals in the bathroom before proceeding to brush the germs off my teeth. I then have a shower in hot water, for some strange reason even though it is summer I still like hot water showers, maybe because of the pain it brings, don't label me as a person with masochistic tendencies here, I mean I just feel stronger somehow. It's like a massage, except the fact I do not look favourably upon massages. It's just that I do not understand the concept of paying some to inflict pain upon you.
After the shower, I wear my school uniform which has to be worn mandatorily. Not only that, but we also have to outfit ourselves in a certain way. The student has to wear khaki coloured jeans, a white t-shirt as a black blazer over it. The top three buttons of the blazer have to be open, so that the red tie underneath is visible to the onlooker. The reason is because red is the colour which catches the most attention out of all the colours out there, hence it is used in street light to signal the cars to stop. The red tie attracts attention to you and gives off the feeling that you are important. The high school I am attending apparently really loves to play with people's psyche.
This kind of apparel makes me feel elite, even though I got into this school through a fully paid scholarship. I attained the scholarship by topping in my mathematics and psychology classes which exactly fit the bill for this school.
I pack my bag and drink a glass of milk before heading out for school. Yes, I still drink milk despite being old enough to drink coffee, it's just, the concept of inserting caffeine into your body for providing you with energy you don't need. Anyways don't babies drink milk?, and there's nothing wrong with them besides the fact that they are small, weak and dumb.
Anyways after kissing my dog about five times I say goodbye to my father and leave for school. Wondering why I did not give my regards to my mother, well it's because she's still in bed. She is not what you would exactly call a morning person. Once I almost lost my life, thanks to my dog licking her awake, anyways that is a story for another time.
As I wear my leather shoes and head out of the door I trip on the threshold my house , cause why not? I clumsily save myself from falling before running to school and barely making it in time.
I meet the teacher Miss Lucy outside out class, which would have been perfect had I not been five minutes later than I was supposed to there. I didn't really make an outstanding first impression in front of my homeroom teacher. I would not have felt so nervous had she not had that intimidating aura around her. She could not have been more than thirty. Her black hair flowed down till the area of her lower back. She wore a business suit and high heels. Her red eyes had a sharp glint which made me fear for my life , but she did not show an angry face which would have been better If she did, because her emotionless face was much scarier.
Alas, her intimidating aura dispersed as she in said in a surprising squeaky voice, "Well aren't we awfully early Mister Harper". You have no idea how much I had to bite my tongue in order to keep a straight voice and answer her, "Yes ma'am I am sorry for the delay, I have no excuses", I somehow managed to give her a decent answer . "Well we will just have to work on your timing, this sort of behaviour is not acceptable for someone who is aiming to become a businessman, now is it?", she said narrowing her eyes at me trying to discern my thoughts."No ma'am it is not", I reply looking down, not out of shame but habit.
That is right I go to the elite high school Stone Bridge, which has a history of raising many successful businessmen and businesswoman. It may be a tad out of the normal life I am aiming for, but I really need it.
"Anyways, let's get on with it shall we, I will enter the class and when I call out your name you follow., got it?", she said. "Yes ma'am ", I replied nervously.
She then entered the classroom silently, which told me her high heels were new, as they did not make the click-clack noise made by them when they are worn out and the Matlock surface peeks out.
"Students please welcome Harvey Harper, he will be joining our class today and I hope you all take care of him for the next four years." , though her words were put in a nice way, her tone was completely flat.
I enter the class full of confidence, ready to begin my high school life, also known as the best few years of some people's life. When I enter I am immediately dumbstruck, now this is not because I have seen so many good looking people in one room together, it's because of the setting of the classroom. There was only one table in the classroom, it wasn't like your regular school wooden desks, but it was a legitimate white square conference table with rounded corners. There was a projector attached to the ceiling of the room and what I think is a roll down screen, in front of the the board.
"Umm.... Your name is Harvey right?" the teacher looked at me with a confused face.
Oh no ,oh no, oh no, I am so messing this up. Wait! I can fix this. I have a solution which would earn me sympathy and let me escape from this situation without people know I am not used to this business stuff, cause if they knew I could be bullied for not coming from a well off family like the rest of them. The rest of the students in this class have come here from very well off families and mostly have business backgrounds. "Sorry ma'am I am actually hard of hearing from my left ear".
Uhh... What am I doing? Well no use crying over spilt milk, at least I was able to evade the situation. I guess at least none of the students of the students will bully me this way in fear of ruining their reputation.
And just for the record none of the students cared besides one or two, I guess they are all just cold hearted, maybe you need that in the business world.
"George it says here in your medical records that your hearing is perfectly normal", the teacher said skimming through my medical reports from the last year of my middle school.
Awkward silence.
That was all that filled the air.
All the students were looking at me as if I were an animal in some zoo.
I am so in panic mode now. My heart is beating wildly. Why does she even have those medical records? I will be the laughing stock of the entire school if I do not think of solution to remedy this solution speedily. Oh yes I can play the amnesia card. For some reason that kind of guy is always popular in the anime I watch.
"My bad ma'am, you see I actually have amnesia so I tend to create these misunderstandings, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me", perfect. I should be awarded a noble prize for this fascinatingly intellectual mind of mine.
As she hears this she nods in understanding. Phew, finally I can play my cool guy persona.
That is what I think before I see her pull something else from between my medical records.
No, it can't be, why is this here, why does she have the records from the neurological doctor I went to last week to get my frequent headaches checked.
Could she be stalking me? Well I don't have time to think about that now. I have to stop her using force if necessary. With these thoughts swarming my mind I run towards Miss Lucy.
Everything was in slow motion, the mouths of the students opening wide the breeze was slowing down, but alas, I tripped my left foot on my right and had to face the unavoidable, the floor.
"Harvey it says here in you or neurological report that you mental conditions, that you are mentally healthy"
Despair.
Why? Why did this happen to me?
